Joey's style is like a hybrid flamenco technique. I've never seen any one else play the same way he does, with the fingers curled like that.

Joey Eppard is definitely one of the best guitarists I've seen live and is a really nice guy to talk to.

3 is definitely a band worth checking out and seeing live if you haven't. They play an excellent live show.

i agree wil jpayne, opeth is incredible but 3 stole the prog nation show in albany, NY. Opeth's setlist wasnt what i wanted but Michael is always great with talking to the crowd. Dream Theater carried on too long. Because of that show, I saw 3 about 5 more times this year...buy their music. peace.

three was very good a prog nation in vancouver, certainly much better than BTBAM and Opeth. Although dream theater rocked the place and it was possibly the most epic show ever, plus they made it into a DVD out of our show so that was sweet

its less string tension boy. other geetar makers put the strings in the middle which is the weakest part of the geetar, meaning they have to use more glue to keep it together. but you get a much lighter more lateral sound when you spread the strings out and even out the tension across the whole geetar instead of concentrating it all on one spot.

The best way I could describe it is a downward slap with the thumb while you immediately upstroke/pick with index finger. You have to really put energy into it and your right hands fingertips will get sore at first. HE IS so damn coordinated with that though it's amazing.... hope that helps.
