I wish I had seen this tutorial sooner. I just watched another one explaining exactly the same, but that one took 10 minutes and I still didn't understand. 5*
@kiwiblender It's a realtime material that supports dynamic lighting, normal and parallax mapping(for making shaded bump-effects in materials), and realtime reflections.
Nice quick and simple tut, but one issue with the finished render... There seems to be a shadow as if it was a solid plane and not water. 5* anyway :)
somehow blender takes longer rendering than maya for me, besides it took almost 2 min rendering that scene, which seems too much compared with how much took to you perhaps i have something bad configurated could you help me on that?
After watching a few videos from 3Dboy, I felt more confused. Then i found 3D Macdaddy and everything came together! Defiantly the best training videos on YouTube for Blender.

How comes in the GE, when the scene is played, the scene does not show the water texture, more like a plane? I have GLSL materials settings on.

to use it in games u must enable GLSL, just go to the game menu and choose Blender GLSL Materials.

Very useful tutorial... the downside is that it takes longer way longer to render animation.... hours-day
