  • Before anyone corrects me that this isn't a song, but rather a piece. I'm gonna do it myself.

    I meant piece, not song.

  • No hate comments from jealous losers.. No heated arguments about whose style/technique is better for this song.. No arrow to the knee jokes.. A spectacular performance..

This Thursday is awesome so far.

  • @Perprocrastinate Ur so damn right dude, I used to hate those kind of things to, then I took...

    Na I'm just kidding :P

  • "не понравилось" 100% завистники поставили

  • c ki le conn ki na pas aimer 7 video

  • Браво!

  • Independent music critics' award.

Journalists from the leading mass media outlets of

Russia, which worked during XIV International

Tchaikovsky competition have announced the Independent Prize of the critics.

The prize is awarded to the pianist Alexander Lubyantsev. The Prize is awarded for his performance during Tchaikovsky competition, which demonstrated exceptional artistic individuality and the ability to keep an open mind to the performing arts.

  • Question1:How can chopin write this out?

Question2:Can chopin played better than Alexander Lubiantsev on No.12?

  • @chopinlytlyt Я думаю, что Шопен играл так же

  • That one judge looks like Jabba the Hut

  • This guy is hot. :)

  • One of the best 25 12s I've heard, real clarity

  • That was probably my favorite performance of the Op 25. No 12.....Speed = perfect. Tone = Better than perfect--I could hear every note like it was played by itself. Technique = "Lisztian". Exceptional performance!

  • n.12 is furious!

  • Better than perfect to me~~!

  • Remarkable.

  • This is technically perfect, and has some "soft" energy which makes it pleasing to listen to. It's also very well-balanced.

  • I don't like the way he plays no 3. It's too fast and it doesn't have that galloping sound.

  • the first one sounds like a horse running through a field ^^

    love it^^

  • why the video? This is just computer playing. Chopin meant to write music.

  • @bomberschicken: well technically they r not "perfect". If u know the songs as well as the judges so then u WILL hear the tiniest mistake. I've heard this piece many MANY times and I did hear out of the whole song 2 mistakes... Maybe I missed some. Who knows

  • Ok first of all @bugsfan: dude.....fuck u!! >:( u have no idea y these competitions happen in the first place!

  • He isn't well.

I can't understand person who think that he is great.

    What are you think it?

  • I just don't understand how a winner can be chosen in this competition. Every competitor is technically and musically perfect in their performances how do the judges choose?

  • You've realized why these competitions are pointless in the first place...

  • this pianist is awesome! has he got a web site or a facebok page? i would like hear him in concert! great playing

  • The contrast between the interpretation of the 2 peices he performed is remarkable.

  • How do judges grade international competitions? I mean, I am sure that every performer is very good since its international...but how in the world do they pick winners...?

  • Clean ,, perfect,,coul not be better !!!! Young MAASTER

  • il y a du F.-R. Duchâble dans cette magnifique interprétation

  • young maestro, supurb playin' !

  • One of many sons of the great Russian piano-playing tradition.

  • good fingers

  • Exelente!!!!!!!

  • IS it possible to buy a Dvd with this competition

  • Omg who won this competition? did he win?

  • nobody was awarded 1. prize.

Miroslav Kultyshev, the guy with the hilarious eyes was awarded second, and Alexander Lubiantsev won 3. prize.

  • MIROSLAV KULTYSHEV did

  • wtf is wrong with the guy at 0:53 on the right? ZZZzZZZzzZZ... wake up asshole!!!

  • oops i didnt know that was a judge!

  • loll

  • that is main judge ...... so impolite !!

  • hmm very nice played !!!

  • He looks like a very young Berezovsky.

  • 25/12 was amazing.

  • He was a finalist in the Sydney International piano competition in 2004 at the age of 18. He would be 23 now of course (2009)

  • wow can u tell me who he is?

  • sure - it's Aleksander Lubiantsev.

  • thanx

  • amazing... yes. wonderful mechanical technic, but "a new born Askenazy"?...... listen to Askenazy ply this étude in his recording for Melodiya.... that's a beautiful playing, balanced and well singing.

And if you like listen to Cortot études, Cherkasky, Francois.......

Aniway..... it is really a great job.

  • In the ocean etude, he plays so fast and relaxed that I can't see the change of fingers. I mean the hand opening and closing when the change from the 5th finger to the 1st in the right hand and viceversa in the left hand. The hands look always wide opened and like caressing the piano.

I can't understand it, thats amazing

  • He was only 19 years old when he performed these two Chopin Etude in the 13th Tchaikovsky Competition(2007)

  • wow...who is he ? new born Ashkenazy ?!

  • hahahah, the judge does not look impressed at 1.14

  • Ang ganda ng piano!

  • Gahhh. I love this guy.

    Yeah, how old is he??

  • he looks mid 20s?

I think he is around 24 years old.

  • Russians have good pianists

  • @Coixxman You damn right they have :P

  • that was amazing!

  • how old is he?

    he s so good

  • Wonderful full all out playing. Congrats

  • wow, you're not going see a live version better than that

  • No. 3 was the highlight

  • fantastic

  • todo hábil xD ^^

  • Chopin, is this your last work this year ?

  • That's an amazing job. Bravo!

  • who is the guy?

  • I'm not a fan of this type of playing. The tone production of these Russians in this Tchaikovsky competition is always too loud.

  • As the Emperor would say: "Too many notes..."

  • Is this guy chopin?

  • No.

  • LOL! YES!

  • I'm falling in love with this pianist...

  • I love how he brings out the tenor in the second theme of the B major section

  • Excellent, you have exceptional talent. I will say that I think you can get more depth and emotion out of op. 25/12 by modifying your tempi and dynamics to a greater degree. Please have a listen to the Kemal Gekic live recording which I uploaded to Youtube for a very personal vision of it.

  • seras un gran reconocido pianista, sino lo eres ya

  • He's cute and plays amazing! UNFAIR!

  • you ll get there. keep practising. he s good I admit though

  • that was supposed to be sarcasm. he is incredible!

  • amazing!!good job

  • I am so sorry, I apologise for my brash comments. I was out of my mind to have said so. He is great, and will be! :)

  • very very beautiful :)

  • Beautiful talent. I would suggest only that once you learn the life of the quarter note (pound pound pound) you will be nearly perfect. But ah... an imperfection always rears it's ugly head ;). It was perfect.

  • Fantastic

  • perfect!!!!!

RUSSIAN PIANIST THE BESTS IN THE WORLD!!!!

  • Listen to the left hand work in op.25 #3. That's beautiful and you rarely hear that voicing. Bravo indeed!

  • Awesome playing indeed.

  • His Ocean etude is BREATHTAKING!!!!! YOU ROCK!

  • this is a difficult etude...great!

  • You make the piano speak so beautifully.

  • such beautiful playing! BRAVO!!!

  • 好听! 好听! 你很好的.

  • Классно.^^

  • Bravo!!

  • great playing
