If you were stupid enough to get into debt for an increasingly worthless certification then maybe you ought to suffer a little. If we forgive all your debts, then that totally disses people like me who didn't attend university because we saw it clearly for the worthless debt trap it is.

Are you kidding me? Forgive student loans. I would like my mortgage forgave and still walk off with the property and if I only had to pay the interest on both properties at 10% that would be $180.00 per month, and if I could do that I wouldn't be driving a 15year old car, I could take that much needed vacation. If I have to pay my loans then so should everyone else. I don't think the rest of America should be punished because someone else took out a student loan.

I worked and payed my 30 grand in student loans. I drove an old car and lived in a small apartment for the first 7 years after school.

Will the government give me a refund on the loans I payed ! Not fair ! Not fair !

Actually the student loans should be made directly with China. Cut out the middle man, the U.S. government, from taking it's cut.

The system is breaking because there are too many college graduates who should have opted for trade school or the army in the first place.

Student Loan high interest and penalties are a stealth MIDDLE CLASS TAX.

Now, the U.S. is chock full of people with bachelor degrees who can't find a job. And the "C" and "D" average graduate are the one's most likely to default. These "C" and "D" average students are also becoming the majority among degree holders.

These "C" and "D" average students are graduating thinking they are automatically entitled to success because they have an expensive piece of paper (diploma).  And we all know it doesn't always work that way. Many college will allow these "C" and "D" average students in because they want that delicious student loan money.

This is why Student Loans are near impossible to discharge. It's like a tax because it is one. The government and companies like Sallie Mae are hedging their bets that since you decided to go to college, you will work hard at being successful by paying the loan. The PROBLEM is that a lot of people who shouldn't be even near a college, are graduating with degrees.

Everyone knows the rich either can pay their student loans in full or don't need to take one out in the first place. It is the middle class and middle class wannabees (working class), who will view paying an exorbitant student loan as one of the rungs in the ladder of success.

Forgiving student loan debt is tantamount to forgiving jumbo mortage loans. Why would you target a government program directly at the upper classes. Why forgive tens and thousands of dollars in debt for those who were fortunate enough to go to college and do nothing for those who could not get in?

What people need to keep in mind is that bailing out the average person/student would be a proactive measure to allow a young workforce to create wealth for the nation.

But, the fascist federal government in not in the business of doing what is good for America. And the politicians/corporation's are subservient to their banking masters. Debt for them is the source of their wealth and power.

The Government needs to bailout ALL student loans going back 15 years or so.
