  • I have never in my life and all my travels seen such a beautiful play of Zorna o Davula with such incredibly luxurious clothing anywhere in the world!

My best wishes to my fellow Assyrian brothers and sisters that performed such a breathtaking and elaborate dance, and may God bless and keep and multiply our small nation by millions.

  • Basma gaokho raba basima ile rqada ;)

  • My two cents have been inserted, The Jolit Khoomaleh, were taditionally worn in order to simulate, recall, or reenact combat or the moves of combat in the form of dance, usually for ceremonial purposes eg; Weddings. Back then they were worn and paraded after a successful battle. Every aspect of clothing has a symbolic definition. According to a reliable souce, my grandpa. Im not really sure, but the feathers on the males were of a peacock, which symbolises pride & prosperity.

  • ASSYRIAN ARE THE BEST:)

  • Khaya Atour, Dear Brothers, let us not separate our selves by the Tribal or church names, as Chaldaye,Syrianaye, Tkhuma, Baze, Jilu, Urmi, Tyare, for they are the names of villages and churches, Let us unite in our true Assyrian Blood for we are all the sons of one father,God Ashur. Speak Assyrian,Marry to Assyrian, name your child Assyrian name, and dance Assyrian. Build Assyria in your Child, so your Child will build it for you.

  • y cant we just all call ourselves jilwaye and get along

  • i think everyone should shut the fuck up about this tribal shit, im so fucking sick of it.. we divide eachother by dilects, tribes, churches and even what country we were born in.. honestly im soo fucking fed up with my people.. dont get me wrong, im soo fucking proud of my nationality but people like you disgust the fuck out of me! grow the fuck up and make ur self usefull!

  • YonanBarkho:

Well said cousin!! I agree 100%.

We're about to be extinct, and the Assyrians are still talking about these dumb tribe names and Church sects. The ancient Assyrians invented the policy of divide and conquer, and now we are falling in our own trap?? How pathetic is that??

The fact is, that according to experts, in less than three generations (60 years), no one will speak or claim to be Assyrian, or claim to be of any Assyrian tribe or pathetic religious sect.any where in the world.

  • My brother dont believe everything the experts say, every expert can be wrong sometime, you are talking about us forgeting the things we have left almost since jesus came. Man all we have left is our tribe names and music/dances. Dont be so weak and believe things like that....never.....KHAYA ATOUR pkhelet ala

  • YonanBarkho - Godweeps4iraq

Brothers, I agree with you too, how sad our situation has become, people should pay a visit to Betnahren to see the suffering of our nation before they brag about the village they come from.

Wake up people, we are heading toward extension, we are not the mighty Assyrian empire anymore.

God help us all because no one else will.

  • Great...Great...Great...

  • I'm a second generation American of Assyrian ancestry. I'm just happy to see these ancient Assyrian customs (such as dance and music)being preserved and spread in such a modern way(the internet). Thanks for posting and hello to ALL my Assyrian cousins whatever tribe you're from.

  • Khaya Omtat Ashur !

  • Hey sargonsss

    Arent Tyarayeh Assyrians?

I'm proud of those costumes that we still use in present day.

Tyari = Assyrian Tribe, so those costumes are Assyrian.

  • Yes I'm also Southern Tyaraya (from Asheetha "Ashetnaya"). We are all Assyrians, we just have different millets or "tribes".

  • Ashetnaye Southern Tyaraye? Well that could explain your dialects beeing almost the same haha. What is the difference between Jullid Tkhumala and jullid tyare? Isn't it the same cloothing?

    Shlame

  • Yes it is the same thing :)...When we dress up we call it Julle D'Tkhumaleh. I've never used the word Julle D'Tyarayeh before.

    Shalma alookh aziza

  • Oh, because I thought Tkhuma also was an assyrian tribe, and the cloothing was theirs? haha. Okay I get it now :D

  • Well yes you are correct khoni. Tkhuma is an Assyrian tribe. But I'm not sure of the origins of "Julle d'Tkhumaleh" but I know it could mean "Clothes of Celebration", "Julle D'Khoomaleh" from the Assyrian word "Khmala" meaning "to have fun". Hope this helped aziza :D

  • haha I was mixing Khumala and tkhumala, yes you are right then.

  • And just for the record.

    1. YES, I AM TYARETAH AND PROUD OF IT!

    2. Im in a VERY SUCCESSFUL Assyrian dancegroup and YES we do wear jooleh d'khoomala with PRIDE!

    and

    3. If we looked so "silly" and "ugly" in these clothes, we wouldnt have ur people hiring us to dance in their weddings EVERY week :)

LOL us tyarayeh show others how its done. Dont sit there and try to make us look stupid now!

  • ROFLLLLL @ "IM PURE DESCENDANDT OF ASHUR" qam patkhitleh poomookh, khoosh loopla tash'itah d'atourayeh qam malpaneh darsookh! ehbah ilookh deet hamzomeh il nashet ganan hadkha! and ferial123 u are 100% right! Jelousy is a curse! hahaha WE CARE ENOUGH TO PASS ON OUR TRADITIONS! Thats what it comes down to.. we dont wana be lost among other nations as the ppl that once were.. LONG LIVE ASSYRIA! Hopefully ignorant ppl such as these few c their errors b4 its too little too late...

  • I love the dancing and music. Keep up the good work!

  • atour1000, you need to learn to appreciate the customs of all of our tribes. Of course they're dress will not be exactly the same as eachother, we've been seperated in our villages for hundreds of years. Stop being so jealous of tyaraye. We're all still Assyrian no matter what tribe we belong to.

  • Amen....

  • and hell with shawtanayotha... these tribal names were used by our foes to further divide us, how long is it going to take us to realize that they are meaningless. Mind you, it is nice to know what part of Athra we come from, but then again we all come from one Athra. Long lives Assyria united.

  • I agree, this is not true Assyrian costumes, but only the tyaraye tribe likes to show off their funny costumes, just to separate them selves from the rest of our Assyrian nation

  • Many Assyrian tribes completely lost their traditional clothing and no longer have anything. Assyrians of the Tyari tribe are one of the tribes that maintained the tradition along with some others. It was not a means to seperate themselves; they are Assyrian.

And of course the clothing has changed from the times of the empire, it has been 2500 years. But the similarities in these clothes are still there.

  • 1. I am Tyaree (upper Tyare)

    2. I am from Khabor

    3. You are right these are Tyaree clothes, but you are wrong, we do not dress this way to make ourselves different from other assyrians. We do it to show our part in the Assyrian nation, just like other assyrains should... those who have not lost everything.

  • I agree, this is not true Assyrian costumes, but only tyaraye likes to show off their costumes just to separate them selves from the rest of Assyrian nation

  • you all need to relax and just be happy with what we have and what we are doing then complain all the time... were lucky to stl be around after everything we have gone through.

  • atour1000 It comes down to this, we are all assyrians and we only have eachother. We should not be against eachother because of our differences in groups. I don't think we will ever have our own country, but if we did have any chance it's assyrians like you that would be the problem because of your hatred. The dance and jolit khomala have been passed down from generations and are old enough now that are our traditional costumes. And tiaraya, i'm sure are not the only ones that wear them.

  • ferial123,these ugly khumala are not Assyrian clothing, and I dont hate Assyrian, but I hate those who separate them self by their clothing or by their fucking tribles names, as Jilwaye or tyaraye, why not Ashuraye only, so we can be one as one nation and fuck all these trible names

  • atour100 jolet khomalla are traditonal assyrian dance clothes back in the old ancient days assyrian men wore jolet khomalla to fight. and if you tru descent i suggest you read our past. im tyareta aswell and im 100% sure that we dont keep ourselfs apart becuase not only tyaraye wear jolet khomalla alot of millatet wear it. so get your\ facts straight before you suggest such stupid comments about jolet khomalla.

  • mAliktaaaa, you are not educated, the jolit Khomala, are clothing of the intertainment, how then are worn by the fighters, the Assyrian fighters in the old days did not wear the stupid khumala, look in the assyrian history book to learn about our true assyrian clothing, the problim with you tiaraye, you have very stubborn brains. you people just like to show off your stupid khomala, just to separate your self from the rest of Assyrian, the feather is not of assyrian, we are not red indeians

  • Ferial123,I am pure Assyrian descendant of Ashur, but you guys the tiaraye tribs are keeping your self apart from the assyrian nation by dressing this ugly joolit khumala with feather like indians, the true assyrians never put feather over their head, it is insulting, the feather represent empty heads with out wisdom

  • a true descendant of ashur wouldnt say this gibberish ur saying atour1000

  • A true Assyrian descendant of Father Ashur will never put feather over his head like red indeians

  • Atour1000 sounds like your very jelouse of Tiarya...did you lose a girl to one of us. I'm Tiarash from TelTamer Syria. Don't you wish you could be just like us! It's ASSyrians like you that keep us apart and we will always be against one another. Can't you see these people are trying to keep the haritage. These are joolit khoumala you retard and Kurdish people may have been influenced by us, not the other way around. Don't just read any book, check the credability of your information.

  • Atour, I think you have issues and your NOT Assyrian. And what you say is BULLSHIT so get a LIFE!

  • what lowe leys music from mezapoatamia im sorry abaut fore the asurirn i think sahmiran mike big mistake fore you viva asurian and armeniannnnnn

  • this masseg is to all of you stupid tiaraye,I'm descendent of father ASHUR,I study Assyriology & read and write Assyrian cuniform..and now I am sure you Tiaraye are not Assyrians, as you are selfish SHOTANAYE, you only care about exposing your ugly funny KHUMALA Kurdish costumes, you guys are not true Assyrian, you are BASTERD of Assyrian, your grand fathers were KURDISH,you can not impose your feather on true Assyrian, but only on your empty heads, keep dancing with feathers like red indians,

  • Khayya Ashur hal nokhama! Basma ganeh kolleh, eede la marree ;O)

  • atour100 this is nooot tyaraye clothes..man where is ur head exacually..who told u this is tyaraye clothes..its called JOLLET KHOMALA..come on learn a bit history..damn haha..maskhara loo..

  • يعجبني الرقص الكردي و الملابس الكردية والموسيقا الكردية

  • this is assyrian brother

  • this is in syria the khayme reception.

  • Top noch Assyrian dance... Man the best Assyrian dancers are from Syria, they know how to dance... I love there dances and I learned it while I lived there before I left I made sure I knew each and everyone of them... Go ASSRYAINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS KOLOLOLO

  • To fellow Assyrians, this costumes is not of Assyrian, if it was, then all the Assyrian tribes would have wear it, it was wear by the bride and groom of the Assyrian of the hikaary mountain, as they were poor people. But this is not our traditional old Assyrian costume, if you want to see our true traditional costume. Just go to museum where they have our Assyrian kings and ancient people costumes

  • I love the dance but I hate the costumes. because this is not true assyrian costumes, the kurdish also wear like this, it makes our Assyrian men look foolish with feather over their head like roosters and chickins.

also it make them look like Kurdish women as they have long white Yalikhta on their arms,

for the sake of our Assyrian great Kings, please give up this ugly costumes, beleave me, our kings would burn you a life with this insulting costumes.

  • Atour, if you are Assyrian you would know that these are traditional Assyrian clothes and you would be proud. You would also know that Assyrians were around first and before "other" came along. "Other" has taken our clothes, music and dance. Assyrians infulenced "other" not the other way around. Understand. I do not respect 'other" enough to say name. I wish Assyrians would stop bringing that shit up on all our videos. It's just Assyrian and always will be Assyrian.

  • Hi Blue231010,Iam true Assyrian, and I have studeid our history,I never seen this costume on our great kings, you know better this is not our triddition costome, this costomes originaly was woren by the brite ang groom, because in the hikaree mountain the Assyrian were poor poeple so this is the costome they can offord to wear, but this was never our true antiant costomes, look at the Alqoshnaye they wear like arabian, igall. is that igal of Assyrian? go to Assyrian musiam to see our costumes

  • Ok, atour100, let me tell you something, hopefully you have COMMON SENSE. We don't wear what our ancestors wore 4000 years ago, that fashion is lost due to cultural diffusion and so on. No where in this world will you see somebody still wearing clothing their ancestors wore 3000 years before. This is our own traditional clothing, you never see Kurds wearing this, they have their own as well. I hope you can understand that 4000 years ago was a very long time away from today.

  • OK, ashur08, have common sense too ! no one wear this khomala costome today and walk in the street, so why wear it today, just to show off your triblism as tiaraye, not as Ashuraye. This is not Ashuraye costome, it is tiaraye, so by wearing it, you are seperating your self from me, because I am not tiaraya, but only Ashuraya, and I am only proud of my Ashuraya costume, the dignity of the Ashuraya is lost in this funny costume, it makes them look like roosters and chikens.

    be true Ashuraya, freind

  • Tiaraya? I'm Hikarniya&Heleniya, and this is what we wear just like all other Atouriye. Yes, some villages that have different costumes, but this is the costume they recognize as their official Assyrian costume. Though, this costume was worn more to weddings before, that state of mind is past. Roosters and chickens? very sad. Also.. friend? I'm no non-Assyrian, how about brother, since we are of the same ethnicity.

  • ashur, you can be my brother only if you act as true Assyrian, with out stupid khumala , the khumala is not the official costums, you only wish that, it will never happen, the true Assyrian are in heart and blood, not in stupid khumala clothing

  • Tyarayeh= ashourayeh too =)

  • First of all, those are our treditional costumes,, so i recommend that you go back and read the hirstoy again or get a dictionary next to you cuz this shows that you are reading it but dont understand it. And another recommendation is that you should look carefully at these once and kurdish once cuz its different !

  • The Assyrian Kings wore clothing that was different and seperated them from the rest of the Assyrians. It would not make sense if all of the Assyrians wore the clothing of a king; we did not have millions of kings. Look at the clothing of the everyday citizens, warriors, etc and you will see the similarities.

  • Assyria exists!!!! No one can deny that!!

  • well done assyrian.....

  • great jok guys keep going

  • I love Assyrian dancing.

  • ich bin soooo stolz auf unsere tänze unsere kleidung und musik

    ich liebe es
