  • @14mead haha yup my voice is A LOT different now :L

  • No alto parts so I had to play a policeman in our school's production last week :/

  • @zBoOnerAwSoMeStPeEps so instead of singing alto, u sang bass? lol

  • My favorite song in the whole show!!! :D

  • I live for this stuff I absolutely love musical theatre

  • The Pirates Of Penzance and The Mikado are my favourite of all the Gilbert and Sullivan

    comic operettas.

  • I thought the other half of the policeman ran away because they were afraid of the pirates. Glad thats cleared up.

  • Tim Tyler is obviously trying to be the irreplaceable Tony Azito here. Although this is enjoyable, I far prefer the original orchestration (or even Joe Papp's one).

  • Can you please upload "Then, Frederic, Let Your Escort Lion-Hearted"? I can't find that one anywhere on YouTube.

    Being sad now.

  • that Sergeant is RIDICULOUS! He is unbelievably good!

  • where can I get a copy of this show? I love it!! Where was it performed??

  • THank you for putting the whole show up

  • lol! were having our 1st skol play ever and wer going to do this! im a policeman :) policeman rock!

  • God Timmy was fun to work with! David Atkins did the role in the 1984 original tour and did a good job too.

  • haha. i was a police officer a few years ago and I recall having contests to see who could roll our tarrrrrrrrrrrrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrlrraas the longest. haha.

  • Lol, I was a policeman in this! They're the funniest out of the entire musical. XD

  • OMG how tall is the sergant

  • hahaha funny...

    i like that so much!

(Im a bobby in an amateur version)

  • Is this Pirates of Penzance or Little Shop?

  • Pirates of Penzance

  • @thepantweaver Pirates

  • OMG!!!!! I am a bobby in the schools production I am in. Not as good as this though :-/ but were just as wimpy!

  • NINJA POLICE

  • Nice to see they're not taking things too seriously. I've seen good G&S ruined by productions where it is taken too seriously...

  • I concur.

People have this strange idea that just because it's from the 19th century it has to be serious.

  • Here here.

  • how he has great over-splitz! im sooo excited to be part of this fantastic work of art!!!!

  • What on earth was the point of the ping-pong balls in the mouth?!?

  • I bet he always wins in limbo :)

  • im the sergeant for my school play, thx for the tips

  • this is entirely overdone in a wonderful 80's way

  • DUDE! That guy is more flexible than i am(im very flexible) christ. hahah very good

  • my school is doing it this year, its so amazing how much our choreography is alike to the actual production, i'm a pirate but i love watching our sarge do this song. i also love performing "with cat like tread"

  • This is my favourite song in the show, we're performing this in just under a week and i always look to this production for inspiration, i'm doing The Major General, but this song is just amazing lol

  • The fabulous singlettes annoy me...

  • Now THAT'S good dictation.

  • yeah this is ment to be funny

im doing this cant wait : D

  • i did it 3 years ago, 6 policeman led by a double jointed sarge; was so much fun, we even got the 'best in production ' during the local critics review...i fell into the orchestra pit during rehearsals...cymbals hurt..

  • One of the best productions ever!

  • i dont like mabel in this production

  • Why? because she sings good? well should say extremely well.

  • i didnt say she couldnt sing...shes got an amazing voice but everyone has a personal opinion

  • Yeah ok each to their own. I think this performance is just as good as the original.

  • When he crawled in the splits... omg LMAO

  • Tim Tyler must have been in a circus but I must say his nickname should be elastic man or Mr Flexible

  • alexander ribs

  • again...incredible singer...not a good singer...freakishly tall

  • i mean incredible dancer...not a good singer...i like him though

  • Tim Tyler

Is probably the best sergeant I've seen so far

    And also the most flexible

And those cops are damn good too

    I'm so jealous

My friends and I totally wish we could do his dance.

    :)

  • Our play sucked, we didn't get to do anything fun other than when I got to jump off the stage.

  • weird syncopations...

  • from my experience of this song its supposed to be an absolute crak up! This is almost as good as the one Panorama did in 2006! ahhhh those were the days! haha

  • wow the sergeant is funny but i think the song wasn't supposed to be that ridiculous

  • well, it is funny and that song IS supposed to be funny. right? maybe they could of picked a better singer sure but not one that flexible! its like he has no bones!

  • The whole musical is actually supposed to be funny - it is all very tongue in cheek.

  • Gotta love the ping-pong balls...

  • wow - policeman is so floppy! pity the band drowns out the singing a bit. same in all these vids of this version - im sure its not tigrrs fault tho

  • No the levels are a bit off in this version. I haveseen the full length one and its not that bad.

  • i'm a cop in our production - this song is so much fun to perform

  • Dear god his tendons are made of jelly!

  • i know and i thought i was dead flexable...i can put me legs beind me head and stand on my hands like that:) for like 3 seconds

  • "Go to death and slaughter" That line is the best damn line in the whole thing and that girl blows it. :(

  • i agree with u

  • i think she does it really funny

  • im in this production righ now. im a daughter. kate to be specific.

  • The lead singer is okay but he's not really strong enough for the role.

  • In his defence though he is very flexible. I salute him for that!

  • Howling! I'm dead! Worthy of John Cleese!

  • i herd this music in school im from american school of mozambique withc is aism

  • i saw musical theatre west's version and it was the best thing ever.

    but this is soooooooooo fantasmicccc.

    hahaha.

the main police officer is the best character in the whole play.

    :D

  • I was the Pirate King in The Charlotte Players presentation!....I will post the vid soon!....

  • I was in this play! I was a policeman! It was so much run and we were great!

  • That split must hurt...

  • ....and bouncing on the floor in that position could turn him into a soprano.

  • This is good but I like the movie and our choir version better XD

  • Brilliant ...The Best Production I have seen ...in fact I believe if all amateur Prods were donre like this then there would be a greater numbers of bums on seats in theatres for G & S!!

  • im in this at school and its all students, but the police are played by teacheres, and one of them is my grade nine geography teacher!! should be interesting.

  • Wow. My highschool drama call is doing this play and I'm in the police chorus. This boosted my spirits about the whole thing. I love the police, we're so dorky. XD My favorite part in the "Yes, forward on the foe" bit is when the police pointed ahead while moving backward. Nice, guys. XDDD

  • In my choir class were doing the whole first act. And the guys are amazing!

  • this production is fantastic, unfortunately that tinkling synthesized piano gives this production, and many others, such a silly feel it ruins the delicate balance of goofy and serious that makes g&s so great. fantastic production though, tim tyler is mind blowing

  • Have you noticed that in this scene that there are more police than in the other scene with them in it?

  • Yeah, I think the entire chorus are policeman here but later on only half remain and the other half change back into the pirates.

  • That's the way it was in the Kevin Kline version. Even the sargent was a pirate. If you look very closely you can see which one's stayed as the policeman and which one's were the pirates.

  • @jennjenn24 well they mabey wittless but the have the wit enough to gather a enough men to fight pirates

  • I forgot about this one!!I just dug my copy of the movie and heard it-- THIS is my favorite song! Instead of 'A Paradox'. Whoops. xP

  • this is probably the best production ever i cant see it bettered

  • they actually make the police force look fun! :D the sarge is a proper john cleese!

  • love the policemen.
