  • the music tells the story on its own.

  • "We lost a battle today. I admit it, yes Lord..."

  • This game REALLY needs to be redone. It was amazing at the time of it's release (hell, the PS2 version still is), but damn it's rough as hell. In particular some of the mapping is just flat out questionable and don't get me started on the animations. The intro was also WAY to revealing in the PC version. Fortunately the mapping issues are being fixed thanks to a mod called Revision, which scraps the old maps completely without scrapping the story.

  • @AFreakinProblem really? youll have to link me to the mod because im interested now :D

  • Put back the soul, feeling and good story in games, please.

  • @WiFooo

Yes, soul of punk was better, than current "void v.0 ID"

  • Loved the singing bum! :D

  • @mirocu100 I used to wait till he started singing and pulled out some random death-dealing implement. His cry of terror still warms my heart to this day.

  • I think music played a massive part in what made me love this game. actually I don't think that, I know that.

  • I know a secret, I know lots of secrets...BANG...shoots the little bastard, because I have the code from a prior play through lol

  • Fuck Deus Ex:HR's music, this is where it's at

  • @edd77 Human Revolution still had an incredible soundtrack; it's just Deus Ex in a different color

  • @b1z2a3 Gunther Hermann wanted Orange. The world gave him lemon lime.

    Until 2011....

    BUUUM

  • @edd77 amen to that

  • @edd77 Why the hate against HR? it's still an awesome game with awesome soundtracks, what can not be said of the CoD series and stuff....

  • @Lm3ntz I love HR, amazing game. CoD can DIAF. I'm just not keen on HR's soundtrack, thought it was it's biggest let down

  • @edd77

Only real letdowns for me in HR was regen health being given to you from the beginning (you had to unlock it in the first game), BOSS FIGHTS, and they might as well have chopped off the whole Panchea section. The Panchea section really wasn't that bad, but the game would have left a better impression if it just ended at Omega Ranch when you rescued the scientists.

  • @DieBittereWahrheit The beauty of this game. One of many beauties :)

  • Our country tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.

    *Shoots Hobo*

  • ...time to look for trippy drugs. somebody wants them, somewhere...

  • Two weaks ago, my PC killed my hard drive with my old game folder where DX1 was installed since it came out. Together with all my savegames :(. I still have the DX package and CD here but.. its also available on steam for 9,99 € :D

Just to let you people know. :D

  • Came for the music, stayed for the hilarious comments.

  • i'm sorry, i can't kill you

  • @afaultytoaster OR CAN I? *bang*

  • @afaultytoaster wow you just replied to your own comment ...

  • @DHammerr wow fuck you

  • Don't mind me officer...

  • Kid: I'm Starving. Do you have anything to eat?

JC : You don't look that bad. Tell me what you know about the NSF.

just love the heartless JC :D :D :D

  • I'm starving, do you have anything to eat?

  • 0 people need to be injected with grey death, now thats what i am talking about :D

  • @DieBittereWahrheit The epicness of a truly great game

  • I shot the kid

  • does anyone else just spend all thier time rewinding this to around the 0:06 second mark to hear that epic fucking synth

  • @colossus571: The funny thing is that the original game soundtrack plays a different “fat analog sawtooth with resonant filter sweep awesomeness” sound. This version is from the soundtrack CD, not from the game.

  • @albedoshader Dammit now I've gotta go DL the game again! I need that resonant filter sweep in mah life

  • @colossus571: To be honest the original sound is a filtered hard-sync sawtooth. I think it sounds like coming from one of the legendary PPG or Waldorf wavetable synths.

  • The only game I've played that can compare with DX is Mass Effect. They both share an epic storyline and the RPG elements. Even after 11 years, DX remains on my weekly playing schedule though.

  • 1:08 - 1:48 awesome

  • you mechs may have copper wiring to re-route your fear of pain, but i've got nerves of steel

  • This is the only FPS game I've ever played, and probably the best :)

  • reminds me of terminator 2 soundtrack

  • PRAAAISE HEAVEN

  • TAKE THIS FUCKING SOY FOOD AND TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW,DAMN KID

  • @IHasAidsandNotYouNah

    Or the candybar:D

  • @IHasAidsandNotYouNah

Or the candybar:D "Chocolate from everything, Cohcolate from human"XD

  • Yess. Alexander Brandon and Michiel van Den Bos. Their style is sharp and instantly recognizable, I love their music since Unreal!

  • @Termax666

I could stand in some levels on Unreal all day and not get bored

  • Sounds like it was made on a korg wavestation.

  • lol judging by the comments deus ex seems to bring youtube together, with no arguments.. another good thing about this game

  • @xbox50000 Yes absolutely! This game hasn´t aged a day. Its graphics still very nice, its gameplay still very good and its message very much up to date indeed

  • @xbox50000 Very true, until someone mentions Invisible War.

  • @ZeeM You've got ten seconds to beat it before I add you to the list of NSF casualties.

  • @MmSTM Easy bro. Just havin' us a conversation.

  • @xbox50000 I think part of that has to do with the fact that most people who have played, enjoyed, and understood DX at least to some degree dont fall under the 'retard' category that most youtube viewers do.

  • @xbox50000 No arguments?

    Invisible war

    what a shame

  • "Wait... I can kill kids in this game? Heh heh... hahahahaha... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

  • got a few credits for someone with the grey death

  • @hhhxxxhhh - Somebody kill me...anybody.

  • What a shame. =P

No but seriously, this brings so much nastalgia!

  • All i have is a candy bar

  • the more I here this, the more it becomes a classic track to my ears...

  • My vision is augmented.

  • And suddenly, images of dark ventilation shafts and the sound of terrorists running around and shooting walls like crazy due to one of the world's worst AIs are flashing in front of my eyes.

  • I'm starving. Got anything to eat?

  • You want this candy bar?

  • Sure mister. Anything so I can fall asleep. I saw the troops unloading crates off speedboats and taking them through the secret passage behind the vending machine.

  • Haha, awesome nostalgia hit...

  • You don't look that bad, tell me what you know about the NSF.

  • @mhrfg

    Go to hell.

  • @WorldofWalkthroughs

Wrong Answer. *Equips 10mm Pistol* Bang!

  • @mhrfg

Totally not! Didn't the kid say that?

  • @WorldofWalkthroughs

    Yeah, What a shame.

  • @mhrfg hahaha the kid that wants food lol

  • @hhhxxxhhh

    Heheh..

  • lol I went in and pulled out my pistol (the ordinary) and BANG BANG BANG, same happened :D

  • Me too. Then I threw him into the river and felt very guilty and strange after nothing happened, it was very creepy.

  • this is the gritty deus ex

  • 0:23 - 0:38

    So very nice.

  • Aaaaah.

Shit I should stop listening to Deus Ex music. I thought I was over the first big excitement, but now I've got the Deus Ex fever again. Must.. reinstall..

  • My first kill in the game was when I was in the underground metro full of homeless people. There was a guy in there selling the drugs and stuff in a black coat. Everybody else were unconsciousnesses till then >)

  • @Polaris002 it is easier than you think to make someone unconceus in this game. You can PELT them with 10mm ammo till they start running, then run after them and whack them with the baton, or just let them go and fall down themselves after a while. it is a nice trick for a pistol expert if he want's to do a non lethal approach and he is just OUT of crossbow bolts or in no position to use it.

  • @JSHADOWM A non-lethal takedown is always the most silent takedown.

  • @Gicolico

    Desperate.

  • @Gicolico A GEP Gun takedown is always the most silent way to eliminate Manderley.

  • When i didthe subway rescue mission, i snuk in a vent and shot a guy a couple times with a crossbow, they all freaked =D

  • why there is still only 2 deus ex and only one abaut JC

  • thats because invisible war didnt go so well

  • @Kniajt

because they dumbed it down so that stupid console gamers would like it...which they didnt.god I hope all xbox's and ps's fry.

  • @Daekn Deus Ex: IW was only released on Xbox, not PS2. Deus Ex one was released on ps2 with some slight map changes and updated graphics.

Another reason why playstation beats xbox.

  • @EmoHaterUK

My bad then.Guess Im just not a fan of ports.Games can be good on consoles but porting messes up things usually imo.

  • @Daekn I think it's mainly because publishers try to appeal to a casual audience when releasing a console game, it's only very recently that they have noticed there is a more hardcore following on consoles and have stopped dumbing down ports.

Here's hoping the best for Deux Ex 3 and Crysis 2.

  • @EmoHaterUK crysis 2 is pretty meh, the multiplayer is a complete call of duty clone, so much i call it crysis of duty :P, deus ex 3 is still looking pretty good but after deus ex 2 i and many others dont exactly have high hopes

  • @xbox50000 Godamnit, COD is god awful as well. Well not awful, unoriginal.

I don't think DX:IW was as bad as everyone makes out, it was no way near as awesome as the original, but I wonder how it would have fared if it was it's own game, and not the sequal to one of the best.

  • @EmoHaterUK yes id say DX IW wasnt as bad as it was called, i think poeple give it such grief because how they expected so much after deus ex 1, basically even if it was good if it wasnt deus ex good it probably wouldnt have been popular anyway, as you say it probably would have done great for tis own game, that i agree with, basically its good as a completely unrelated game but shit for a deus ex sequal

  • @Daekn If you actually think your choice of gaming system makes you a better or smarter person, you need to be rounded up into a concentration camp and gassed to death on live TV. Your choking sobs will serve as a warning to the rest.

  • @jacobkosh no no.I said it makes YOU dumber, not me smarter.there's a difference.I'm not that much of an ass.:)

Most people who I met who had consoles where like "wheres the explosion, too much text, change the disc, this sucks".And i know not all console games are like that btw just

Actually I got it wrong.I shouldn't rage at you I should rage at the game producers. It's their fault for aiming at the wrong crowd.

    PS-gj on the extreme attitude.Love you're lust for death.console much?:d

  • @Daekn Shhh. Go take your Asperger's meds and have a nice lie-down in the corner.

  • @jacobkosh

There are no meds for Asperger's,numb nuts;).

Press O to get some in your anus.

  • I think I like this soundtrack the least... it's maybe because I spent an assload of time doing whatever I was doing in this level. And the music just got exhausted on me =/

  • damn that was an awesome game... my favorite soundtrack

  • This is one of my two favorite tracks in the game.

This is the enhanced track from the CD (better samples and a few slightly different sounds). The original in-game track is a bit different.

  • I remember doing a lot of sneaking around in air ducts with this music playing. 8)

  • hehehe me too! i know what you mean. best game ever!!

  • i think i was too lol

  • best game 4 life

  • cool

  • awesome!
