  • I'm not sure if you made the hat or not, but the strap is not blue or purple. its suppose to be black or brown. besides that, cool!!!

  • Do not need to hiding

    Rorschach Family

    watch?v=iXqhOukjQn8

  • its not moving cus you there is no heat going to the ink (assuming there is ink at the mouth area)

  • you can see something with the mask on?

  • puedes ver algo con la mascara puesta?

  • Just saw these Rorschach masks that actually move on Ebay. I'M STEPPING IT UP THIS YEAR!

  • Did you have to sew the top?

Or did you just use the end of the tights?

  • theres this one guy who goes to comic con and his rorschach mask ink moves.. i think its plastic like though.. but it looks pretty cool. Not as perfect as the movie... but its a real moving rorschach mask so, ya gotta give him props.

  • best one I've seen. did you use paint or sharpie for the pattern?

  • check my custume n let me know what u think ? leave comments

  • pendejo!

  • badass!!

  • it's good, but it does not move... =/ i want one that moves, man!

  • use thermochromic paint

  • You know I've been trying this out (impossible to find seamless hose locally), and even one pair is so tight it squeezes my eyes uncomfortably. So I guess there's no avoiding putting holes in it

  • where did you get that mask, can you give me a link so i can buy it please

  • he used tights to make it

  • It's opaque. Thin enough for you to see and breathe through. Even with 3 layers of it

  • Great job! Have you tried making a moving mask yet?

  • ha ha ha!

not possible in real time. That's post production stuff.

  • dude its totally possible

it only moves where you breathe, but it's still better than nothing

  • show me a video with a mask that moves. I've never heard of the a mask that actually moves. That'd be cool.

  • I looked it up and you're right. But this mask is still cool too.

  • its real, its called thermochromic paint. it turns back to the original color it was painted over when heated to 86 Degrees F. in which the air you breath out is hotter when ur face is against something. when cooled its goes back to black in a sick, cool way. ( just like rorschach's mask )

  • Dog carcass in alleyway this morning. Tire tread marks on burst stomache. This city's afraid of me I seen it's true face. O_O

  • Can you see though it ?

  • please please tell me how you made this

  • Is it easy to breath in it ?

  • i bought a great mask from "RorschachMask d0t c0m".

it looks badass. way better than those plus size stockings i had on my head. lol.

  • did you make that ? if you did, do you think you could tell me how you made it?

  • yes thats very cool but how do i make one?

  • where can you find that mask?or did you made it?

  • Very nice

  • the hat needs to be dirtier, like you found it in a back alley

  • Uhh, Sharpies have the AC certified non-toxic seal on them. The circle with the AC in the middle of it means they're non-toxic. Go look it up.

  • dude it looks awesome, how did you make it, i wish i could make one of these

  • Does anyone know where I can get one of these masks? Please tell me

  • He made it.

  • Ebay, make it urself, i can make one

  • By "I can make one" do you mean its that easy or make one to sell?

  • nice!

  • do you know what that ink blot means to rorschach?...(or walter kovacs)

  • if u r saying what is a rorschach he was the guy that made these ink blot thingys i think and i forget his last name

  • no...rorschach from WATCHMEN...not the rorschach test for pyschology...

in the movie, rorschach was shoawn a series of ink blots and to say what he saw...what does the ink the this video mean to him?...thats my question..

  • oh sorry but im just guessing how his mask changes that maybe mutliple personalities

  • you know the rorschach ink blot test right?

well...rorschach from the movie..his face changes everytime his emotions change...also depending on what he sees in the ink blots

  • They are a symbol to him. He worked at a garment factory fresh out of the boys home and the material was a "mock" Dr. Manhattan type material which reacted to heat and pressure. It was originally supposed to be a dress but the woman who wanted it didn't like the look of the dress so Walter took home the material and made a face out of it. He liked the design. How it was black and white with little gray. That is what the "blots" meant to him.

  • Yeah, it was black fluids between two layers of latex that reacted to heat and pressure. If only they could make something like that now...

  • I would buy that in a heartbeat. Someone attempted to make a variation with heat reactant ink but it was lacking in a lot of ways. Great idea. Wish it would come to fruition.

  • Actually it wasent fluid it was computer made, he only had a white mask with two eyeholes and they made the moving thing with the computer, cause the inblots reacts with his emotions in the movie

  • I wasn't talking about the movie. I was talking about his mask from the graphic novel.

  • Besides his face...Two dogs with their heads split from the middle and his mom with a "Client"

  • You want to know about Rorschach, I'll tell you about Rorschach.

  • How do you see out of it?

  • How well can you see out of it? Becuase Im planing to go to Comicon as Rorschach.

  • How can you see throughh them?

  • This is the best mask I saw on youtube :) The black colour is smooth, you took your time when doing this... Cool :)

  • how did you do that post a tutorial please

  • he bought two white opaque tights and a black one. he cut out a rorschach ink blot pattern in both of the white ones. then put the black tight on, then both the with tights with the ink blot cuts on top of that. not hard

  • y 3 layers? kinda confused on that

  • two white and one black

  • dude i got it thank you i made mine today Yay

  • ok haha

  • please make a tutorial i wanna make my own mask for cosplay and yours is awesome.

  • I also was wondering all the materials you used. but what would be awesome is if you had a tutorial because your mask is the best one ive seen next to the one in the movie. thanks.

  • i was just wondering what kind of tights did you use and were did you get them. Thank you, Brilliant Job.

  • Cool it looks better than it looked on ebay (i found a few there)

Might buy it for a cool video.......

  • Decent mask... Let's hear your voice...?

  • hey bro could you message me and explain how you made this. I'm writing a Rorschach short film but it won't ever happen without a mask. so if you explain more how you made this I'd really appreciate it

  • hey cool rorshach mask bro

  • I made my mask with a white turtle neck and I used mesh for my eyes. I didnt need to pieces of cloth on my head. My masked turned out great.

  • in the comic over the phone when they hear where he is the officers literally say 'raw shark'. i guess the different pronunciations have something to do with the american way of saying it and the fact alan moore is from england, so its said differently in the comic to an american accent

  • fantastic job how much did that all cost?

  • when you succeed in making a moving Rroschach mask that comment will mean something

  • Seriously.

  • hahahaha

  • What did you use for dye? Looks awesome!

  • Now I remember you! I saw you wandering around Dragoncon last year. It looked pretty good in person!

  • So far I think this is the best design and the best execution of a rorschach mask.

  • omg every almost every video makes there mask the same freakin way!!!!!!!!! Annoying!!!!

  • ok.. i only read a little bit of the comments but it looks to me like he took 2 tights Black and White, and used them The black obviously is on the inside and then he cut the white to make it look cool then he put the black on his face followed by the white then hat coat. . there ya go

  • what kind of tights?

  • ohhh he logged in 2 months agooo lammmme

  • doesnt answer messages =(

  • Very cool, but it's pronounced "Rohr - shock"

  • nope, ror-shack

  • There are many different ways to say it. Raw-shark, ror-shock, ror-shack. I say ror-shock, but it doesn't really matter.

  • It's simply a pet peeve of mine.

  • Honestly who cares how you or another human being chooses to pronounce it. As long as the other person of whom you are speaking with understand what you are saying then it's not really important in my honest opinion.

  • Yeah, that was the point I was trying to get across.

  • I like to pronounce it as Roar-shack,

  • Dude, Holy Shiznit. That is the best Rorschach mask I have ever seen... Seriously dude, welll done, 6 Stars...

  • everybody does it this way.

  • Ive seen alot of people do it that way, but you did it very well.

  • Sharpies are nontoxic.

    [:

  • Awesome! You should get get the coat and some purple pinstriped suits, and it'd be AMAZING.

And yeah everyone, they pronounce it 'Ror-shack' in the film. Watch the clip with Dan and Rorschach talking in the basement, Dan calls him 'ror-shack'.

  • what material was this made out of? I'm trying to put one together for a con, and for the life of me I can't figure it out

  • best ive seen on internet so far

  • everyone wants to be Rorschach...im going to be the geek from the newspaper press office

  • how easy is it to see out of that?

  • i just need to know how you see through the mask. or do you? i mean i figure if i ever make a costume id like to walk around in it.

  • can he see through that?

  • "ror_shock? go look it up in a dictionary dumb fuck. how the fuck do you get "shock" out of "schach" in the first place? "

Regardless of how alan moore pronounces it with his British accent, "Rorschach" was the name of the german scientist who thought up the Rorschach inkblot test. It's pronounced "Ror-Shock" but the vast majority of english speakers say "shack".

  • there are different pronunciations for the word for example raw shark ror shock and ror shack

  • Ror shack is the way that they're pronouncing it in the movie.

  • he is saying "shack"

  • Dude, that's awesome!

  • Wondering if you could upload a video on how to make a Rorschach mask.

  • In this way,you are too young for this Comic :)

    The Mask is awesome!

  • thats cos ur a douchebag that spends his time watching cheap gory movies which have no sense of plot

  • Looks awesome.

  • ur welcome no im sry it just bothers me 4 some reason

  • Bothers me as well.

  • guys, alan moore himself says 'ror-shack' (shAck not shOck)

its on a BBC programme called Comics Brittanica about British comic book authors, and Moore reads a rorschach passage and says outloud Ror-shack...as does the narrator. And even british and american differences wouldnt render the 'A' an 'O'

  • i believe its ror shack as well because remember when the detective mishears and says raw shark? very similar.

  • ror_shock

  • thank you for knowing how it's actually pronounced. ahhh

  • ror_shock? go look it up in a dictionary dumb fuck. how the fuck do you get "shock" out of "schach" in the first place?

  • can you see through that

  • insanely awesome, dude.

  • How I did it is just cut out the pattern on the white tights, have to black ones, and the pattern shows up.

  • awesome job man. that looks great.

  • Cool mask, man.

  • Now I just want to know where he got the Fedora...not satisfied with mine...too big...wobbles...it's a cheap holloween one.

  • I THINK I KNOW HOW HE DID IT!!!!!!

oh so he prolly got white tights and used the butt area and cliped off the legs...if you see at the top of the mask theres a nib of where he closed up the whole...

    thats my gues....

  • I'm not sure how he did it, but I had a very nice results with my mask. What I did was: I folded a piece of paper in half and sketched an ink blot close to the fold. Then, I cut out the ink blot shapes and unfolded the paper. This creates a nice, symmetrical stencil. After that, I stretched the tights over a piece of cardboard and set the stencil on top. Then I used India ink to fill in the blot shape. It bleeds a lot so you have to be patient, but it looks great.

  • did you cut the feet off or something?

  • Ya I am at the very end of reading watchmen and Rorschach is my new favorite dc character could you please post a tutorial

  • im going as walter "rorschach" in day clothes.

  • i made the mask but i tried using a sharpie on the tights and its not working out at all. it wont write on the fabric smoothly at all. anyone know how this can be done?

  • Use india ink or other black ink and a brush pen. It's supposed to look like ink anyway, bleeding through and making shapes. Fold the mask in half nd "paint" a pattern on there, using enough ink to let it bleed clearly through both sides.

  • Guys, here's what I did. I used a white Hanes T-shirt. Washed with some black clothes it to make it look a little dingey (Rorschach is pretty filthy, after all!) Then I sewed the mask out of it. Put the mask on, then mark where the eyes are, cut them out. With hot glue, glue the black tights into place behind the eyes. use a couple layers of hot glue. Then use the india ink method I mentioned above.

  • I did this too. Stretching the tights over a piece of cardboard should make it easier to write on. The problem I found with using a sharpie is that is the ink bleeds.

  • I'm having the same problem and he won't respond to my e-mails...I'm thinking heavy ink might do...

  • That's just it though, how do I apply the sharpie? When I'm wearing the stocking, it's too splotchy/not smooth, so when i try and use the sharpie, it's in like 1/2" "slashes"

When the stocking isn't on, then if i draw a 1/2" black circle, it enlarges a ton...how would i get it symmetrical?

  • dude thank-you so much i made one for halloween and its perfect

  • Hey man, rad mask.

For those wondering where you can get that stuff...I went to WalMart and just went to the women's section and bought stockings. One pair of black stockings (two legs) and one pair white. When you cut the legs so you get two, they fit over your head very snug, but if you put two on, you can't see your face from the outside and you still have a remarkable amount of vision.

Question though: How did you paint the black on there for the white part? I can't figure it out on this

  • You can actually use a sharpie on the third white layer that is on the outside. I've heard it works really well, provided you cover the areas fully.

  • Where did you buy the tights? I've been looking, but I cannot find them.

  • Can you see? can you breath?

  • Please post a tutorial video on how to make the rorshach mask as great as yours. it would help out so many people for halloween. Thank you!

  • ho can you even see?

  • What is that made out of? Where can I get material like that?

  • you MUST make a tutorial vid on how you made it. theres still a lot of questions ppl are asking

  • I'm currently making a Rorschach costume, and I have every thing except the mask and the fedora. Do you think you could make a tutorial video or just one explaining how you made the mask, if you can see through it, breath through it, and where you got the hat? It would help me (and a lot of other people) out a bunch.

  • How do you see? Please make another video!

  • ok all I need to know is how to get the design on the fabric, did you use sharpies or did what?

  • thats going to be my costume

  • Can you breathe?

    Nice work, btw.

  • ok can you see, and can you explain more in depth about how you make that mask. very well done.

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HAT!!! ....its perfect!

  • You're not really Rorschach

    YOU'RE A FRRRRRAUD

  • good job man; you should make a tutorial to help us less creative folks.

  • awesome, now i know how to make mine! lol.

  • made one in 2001. stretched the tights over a dummy head and lined it all up. If you don't have a dummy head, a 1.75 litre bottle and with a plastic mask taped to it will do the trick.

  • That mask if f*cking awesome. Wish you would have explained how to make it more in depth but that's cool.

  • Tutorial please

  • lol, pretty good actually. Can you see?

  • That's what I was wondering.
