  • i would give anything to have been there... I really feel like i missed out terribly by not yet having seen them live. I will see them the next time they are in california for sure, but i definitely missed a whole era of AC that probably won't ever come back..

  • hah the crowd can't dance to this song because it's in 7/8

  • @yellerabit89 Hence, they need to learn how to dance. I can dance to this.

  • @TheOneartist haha exactly.

  • @subslament Get high and become the music. It comes so naturally.

  • LOVE THIS SHIT!! takes me to four different worlds while sitting in one place

  • i was there. and stoned out of my mind. it's burned into my brain.

  • Love it when ppl got to look at their guitars to know where to put their fingers lol

  • @22ness0hayden maybe it's more of a pattern/style rather than looking for the chords... my opinion

  • please come out with an album in 2011

  • Fall Be Kind = Best EP ever released, tbqh.

  • fall be kind should have been a full album

  • sounds like much more noisy and confusing than the track in FBK.... and I'm fuckin lovin it!!!

  • Nice video

  • I WANT TO GIVE MY LIFE FOR ANIMAL COLLECTIVE

  • best performance of my life

  • Unbroken Chain!

  • avey might have the best shirt of all time on

i read "madlib, unseen young jazz rebels...."

    fuck yes

  • Isn't it 7/8 and then 7/4?

  • you've got geologist nodding to the 7/4, and you have panda nodding to the 4/4. polyrhythmic genius.

  • Who did lighting for this stage? Was it Performance Lighting?

  • No bucket hat? :(

  • mmmmm how many pot, acid, shroom, extacy heads can you see

  • @STEEZEMCGEE the more the merrier.

  • haha listen to this song while staring at a brilliant bright blue sky in math class and it immediately takes you out of math class and into a world of amazingness :D i absolutely loves this song and AC~<333

  • the whole song is 7/4, you just can't believe that with such a sweet transition the time signatures are the same. so smooth, brilliant work

  • i was there.

this is burned into my brain. best show i've ever been to. the sun was setting right behind us silhouetting chicago's skyline. that's why everyone keeps turning and looking. it was incredible. behind AC was an expanse of cloudy sky extending as far as we could see.

    and i was. . . .mentally enhanced :)

  • WOW... wonderful! i wish i was there!

  • I was there :D

  • i was a psychedelic fucking mess during this song. the sky was the most euphorically beautiful thing ive ever seen

  • this was a great set by them, i wish i could experience that show again.

  • You can really hear AC maturing as true artists. This track is genius. Love how this song begins with a development section then goes into 7/4 time where the "song" begins. The uplifting feeling of this track contrasts greatly to the third track when they say "I must Bleed" which taps into a darker/sinister sound of AC we have never heard before. Great EP! Their music reflects the crazy world that we live in. Expect the unexpected with AC! :)

  • @jsaxr54 it's all in 7/4 you fuck head

  • @tommyownage test test mr. ownage...let me rephrase the previous comment I proceeded to write so quickly after listening to this newest EP I discovered. There is a rubato section at the beginning that are also found in many of their tunes that create an open section that feels "free". The development section groove enters in 7/4 meter with a nice transition into the pop sounding melody that throws your ear around the 4:10 mark on this video but the quarter note remains constant.

  • @jsaxr54 7/8 i believe.

they could've used 4/4 and created a poppy single, but it sounds better the way they wrote it. the time signature feels like an infant taking it's first steps; it's light and airy.

  • @CardPiranha right on. an incredibly natural used of 7/8.

  • @jsaxr54 They were always true artists, and they're music has always been dark.

  • @jsaxr54

ummm thinking you are reading way too into things. their music reflect the crazy world we live in??? i hope not.

  • @jsaxr54 I find pumpkin gets a snakebite sinister as fuck. that song scares the hell out of me. that was made in 2002 so I think animal collective have always had a dark side to them, I mean look at avey tares solo album. that whole album is pretty sinister

  • @jsaxr54 there's a dark/sinister sound in more than half of their records.

  • @jsaxr54 the "development section" is in 7. and you really think bleed is dark? I find "Bleed" just as uplifting as this track, to me it's meditative and spiritual!

  • This show definitely could have been a lot better. Huge AC fan, was front row for this show. They were definitely underwhelming. They never hit a peak, and looped most of their stuff.

  • panda only added the vocal in the intro for the studio recording

  • @t3hpez yeah as much as i love AC and while this song was fucking great, i feel like they just made the wrong decision about how to go about their set.

  • why didn't panda sing on the intro here? well, whatever, panda can do whatever the fuck he wants in my book.

  • @TheBlackWelshman

That's not Panda Bear singing in the album. Or any member of AnCo. It's a Grateful Dead sample.

  • @endlessautodidact4 Actually, on the EP the song begins with samples of Panda Bear's voice, for about the first 2-3 minutes, then the Grateful Dead sample is used

  • I would do just about anything to see them live. Amazing.

  • this was an amazing show

  • hahaha geo has a creature from the black lagoon t shirt

  • This is so beautiful, after I read about it in The Week, I have been playing it over and over and over, going back to Dead 95 premiere of Chain and then back to AC

  • Ha! I've been doing the same thing all morning. Can't get enough.

  • I was here and it was amazing.

  • good quality! :)

and avey and panda are freaking brilliant

    AC will be forever good!!!

  • they're awesome live

  • damn :'( I'm so sad that i didn't make it this year!!!! i would've honestly preferred to seem them at night though. just sayin. :)

  • i was there. i almost started crying when they burst into "fireworks".

  • i'd feel the exact same if they ever played loch raven

  • Yea man fireworks had that effect on me too when I saw them in Florida last summer.

  • avey with a madlib shirt... FUCKYEEEEZ

  • Fuck: the dude on the right at 1:57. I don't even know him, but I think I've seen him on LATFH, which gives me the authority to punch him.

  • LIKE TOTALLY!

  • totally there

  • fall be kind literally made me cum in my pants

  • you should probably see a doctor

  • @RyanAllenHolland you should get that checked out.......seriously

  • FALL BE KIND IS SO GOOD

  • i was there, this was my birthday gift

  • @TopHatIndustries09 Could not ask for a better birthday gift, pretty much..

  • This will be on their Fall Be Kind EP, 2nd track (5 total) to be released in December. I was there too, a little left and back, thanks for the vid! Didn't seem like that many people knew this song though, more people knew it when I saw them in May in Milwaukee.

  • Riverside show was sick.. Leaf House and Banshee Beat.

  • Solid show, but they were definitely better at P4k.

  • this was my fourth time seeing them. it was the drunkest ive ever been at a concert. theres a video floating around of me crowdsurfing twice during bro sport haha

  • solid video, their music is like crack

  • i was there

  • excellent video

  • lol why did panda go to the back of the stage towards the end? round 5:16

  • looks like maybe he was checking if something had came unplugged. Idunno.

  • can't wait for the EP

  • What EP and when??!?

  • Bro Sport EP (which wwiws will undoubtedly be on), coming out mos tlikely some time this year.

  • thanks for posting this! I was a little to the right from you I think and this and leaf house were probably my favorite parts musically. I nearly teared up - it was so amazing

  • dudeeeee,

i was in the 3rd ish row aswell!

a little to the left though.

    and i almost died.

but this show was fucking brilliant.

    like... a religious experience.

  • this is a great video
