Radjune1970: These ECN's have become hybrids of both MM and the general public. Modern day level II MM and ECN data transparency has become counterproductive, misleading and superfluous.

They are a Market Maker. They in a sense have their own ECN. So they can use their 4 letter venue of they can go to an ECN and nobody knows it is in fact them behind the order. Its just another way for a big broker to buy or sell.

Steve, I'm very confused about TWPT and MLCO, How they can sell without using an ECN ( like ARCA or NYSE) ? Would you please explain more about this
