The bleeped version was played by radio stations in Australia as the authorities at the time deemed the word "bloody" too obscene to be heard by our tender young ears. The retail version was not bleeped. The Baron's (von Richthofen) Fokker triplane was painted blood red, hence the reference to "blood". Needless to say, whenever the song was played on the radio we sang along, always shouting the word "bloody" at the bleeps. The plane is a 1942 Tiger Moth, probably ex RAAF, registered in Australia

Is it me, or does the bleeps sound like they were coming out of a flute?
Also, was this music video filmed in Austrailia? I remember seeing shots of the actual members making on of their own with clips from Snoopy in it.

I don't get it. Why the censorship? You are bleeping the word "bloody" and I don't understand the need for your censoring.

The censorship is not mine. The song was recorded in the late 1960's / early '70's when censorship laws didn't allow the " foul language ", of today.
The uncensored version I posted I had to put an mp3 over the top of as censorship laws didn't extend to records / cassettes...only to TV.

THanks for posting this - it is rather funny hearing this and thinking that a word which today is mild compared to what gets played on radio & TV.
