I tried this in Sephora a few days ago, but they were extremely sticky, it had almost no color at all, and most surprisingly, it had no scent at all! was there something wrong with it? I was very disappointed.

@hannnahkeller01 must've been the ones that are used for trying, they tend to dry up and get sticky. I know 'cause I bought my lip glaze in guava and I wasn't convinced when I bought it because of the try-out, but my new one gave a perfect color and it was glided on so smoothly!

I nabbed a set of 6 (two sets of three) small ones at a very nice price. Stila's the first foray into some variety (I have one gloss I adore, and wanted to try other brands). I'm diggin' the scents and flavors, and even the colors and packaging. I've found them to get a bit sticky, though not enough to irritate me - more like something to amuse myself with. It stays on and coats my lips for a long time.

Sadly, about 24 hours later, my lips start to flake. Perhaps a matter of chemistry?

Hey (: How do you clean the brush applicators? I ran one under water for a really short while. That won't spoil it, will it?

cjaylee: I usually clean mine with a clean tissue or paper towel and once a month or so I use a bit of rubbing alcohol and lay the tube down so it can dry thus avoiding any water or alcohol from getting into the gloss.

Whenever I twist my lip glaze about 5 times, only very little oozes out.

Oh and don't know if this matters, but the brush is facing downwards while I'm twisting, so the product can get into the brush more easily.

Is there only very little gloss coming out because it is facing downwards or does it need to be upwards while being twisted?

Or is it because I didn't use my glaze for a long time so only a bit comes out o.o"

LipTips: I don't think it matters which direction you hold the gloss. I've tried both ways and the product doesn't seem to move any faster to the brush one way over the other.

Kellyy32179: They are sheer but of course you can see a difference between the colors. They do have pigment just not a whole lot.

The only real difference between the regular LG and the Plumping LG is that one is a plumper and the other isn't.

No you cannot take these apart and refill them.

Okay, well you can definitely rinse it in water until gunk is off. make sure the dry it with a cotton swab or something.

I just bought the "Gift of Glaze" Stila Lip Glaze set from Sephora for $28 (great deal) and plan to give them out to my friends for Christmas.

It comes with Grapefruit, Gumdrop, Apricot, Raisin, Vanilla and Brown Sugar.

If I am very, very fair with blue eyes, light pink lips and dirty blonde hair and don't like TOO much glitter/shimmer, which one (or two!) glazes do you think I should keep for myself?

SweetSunshineLove: Oh yay! You're so sweet to give away some of the Lip Glazes to your friends. I hope they like them. :)

Out of the ones in that set, I would suggest you keep Vanilla. It is by far one of Stila's most versatile shades; it works on EVERYONE. It's a pretty shimmering nude, but won't wash out your fair skin and it isn't super shimmery. It's very subtle.

I would also suggest Apricot, as I think it would loverly with your blue eyes and fair skin.

I always recommend Vanilla, as it's a great universal color and it smells like yummy vanilla. :) I also love Grape and Peach.

These are larger than MAC Lipgelees, but I don't believe there's any more product.

The Glazes are all sheer by design, but the Brown Sugar and Raisin have much more pigmentation than most of the other colors. The colors are GORGEOUS; dark, but not super duper dark.

They're not colorless, they're sheer. There's a huge difference. *lol* The darker shades have more color pay-off than the lighter shades, but that's probably a given. ;) As for the "best peachy shiny/frosty", I don't think any of them are frosty. There are only a couple of peach-toned ones, and my favorite is... Peach. :D

at sephora, sometimes they sit out so long or people use them so much that they lose their scent. i suggest clicking it many many many times and taking that overload of gloss of on a seperate applicator and smell it that way. :]

The only reason any of them should taste like crayons or have any stale taste is if the gloss has gone rancid.  And sadly, that often happens when the testers sit out in places like Sephora.

I was happy to hear you cover hygiene tips regarding this type of 'delivery system'. I've had to toss glosses with built-in brushes because I tend to get cold sores on my mouth and am afraid I've contaminated the product. I've gone to potted gloss and use a lip brush I can sanitize. I guess I would go one step beyond your suggestion to wipe off the brush and actually use a sanitary wipe or hand sanitizer to clean the brush after each use. Thanks again for the re-review!
