@olympian2011 Michael was the better of the two and proved himself at the highest level of European football whereas Brian, while still an excellent player, spent his prime years in Glasgow. Michael Laudrup was considered the best player in the world for a couple of years. Brian never was.
@CantBeShook micheal was good but this guy was special to watch even peter schmeichel said it himself and he trained with both of them, and brian played for rangers ,ac milan,b munich ,ajax, and chelsea ,danish footballer of the year a record 4 times, named by pele as one of the greatest players hes ever seen ,and when he moved to england he only played 7 games and after interveiwing defenders they said they had was the best player they had ever played against and there were some big names around
@olympian2011 Brian flopped at Chelsea, Bayern and AC Milan.
You've just made up a load of stuff there. Peter Schmeiceal called Michael Laudrup the greatest player ever.
Michael was also named in Pele's list and was named much higher.
When did defenders say that? Who were they?
Michael was banned from winning Danish player of the year for a number of seasons because of his self imposed exile from the national team. He'd have won it every year had he not walked away.
@CantBeShook made up?????? bayern bought him for the then transfer record ,and then fiorintena bought him but he wasent happy with the mentality off the italian football fans or people,oh and when he signed for rangers he done well enough for barcalona to try and buy him but he refused as he was happy in scotland ,oh and i have the great dane saying on a tape i have quote .i was just stunned that a younger brother was coming through that was even more talented than micheal,,fotball focus,
@CantBeShook no thats your opinion not fact unless u are pals with all his managers and are in the know, wrong tape wee man,it was like 11 years ago so not shure which ones said it but a can ashure you it was said,am sorry for dising your clear man crush on the guy
It is a fact that he flopped at all three clubs. He struggled and didn't perform. That's flopping.
Michael Laudrup was the better player and you'll not find anyone who saw both play regularly that will agree with you. There's nothing Brian could do that Michael couldn't do better. And Michael also did a lot of things Brian didn't.
Michael Laudrup - top 10 to 15 EVER. Brian's not even top 50 ever. Great player but nothing close to Michael.
@CantBeShook ehh a can ashure you they did fucking deal with it,fact or your opinion,in your opinion he was better but a will listen to the people that played with him, none of them would be in my top 10
@CantBeShook I agree that all round Michael was the better player but as for Brian, your talking shit. How did he flop at Bayern? He was named 1990 striker of the year and in the 91 team of the year by Kicker, the German football magazine. At Ac Milan he won the champions league. Alex Ferguson wanted to sign him to replace Cantona in 1997. His career at Chelsea never got going because of injuries but he still helped them win the European super cup. They are both world class.
@bournestwin He was named striker of the year by kicker magazine and named in the team of the year by the same magazine. A magazine run by a Danish editor. Means nothing.
Ferguson wanted him based on his time at Rangers, not what he'd done years before. He won nothing at AC Milan. He sat on the bench and watched others do it.
He flopped terribly at Chelsea. simple as. European Super Cup is nothing more than a high profile friendly.
@CantBeShook You said he was a flop at Bayern "fact", clearly he wasnt. What does the editor of the magazine being Danish have to do with anything? Brian played a key role in AC Milans champions league win, playing 7 games in europe and scoring a goal. Ok he didnt play many league games but he was still young and in what was at the time the biggest club in the world. He suffered injuries and only played about 7 games for Chelsea so I dont think its fair to say he flopped.
@CantBeShook He flopped at Bayern? not really, he scored 9 goals in 33 matches during his first season, as a winger/attacking midfielder, then injured his knee.He suffered from injuries at Chelsea too, but he did flop in Italy. To be fair, I don't think you can call him a flop at Chelsea, it's not his fault he got injured.I do think Brian was better than Michael for Denmark, you just have to look at both their stats.
@GlasgowRangersFC1872 there's far more to Laudrup game than scoring goals. He played very poorly for Bayern and he flopped as well.
Not sure what you mean by check their stats. Brian scored 21 in 82, Michael scored 37 in 104 which is clearly the better scoring record. Michael also provided more assists. So what stats are you referring to?
@CantBeShook Wow.You reply fast! His goal to appearance ratio isn't that much better and Michael had played more games for his club when he made his debut, therefore he was more experienced.Either you are getting your information from wikipedia, which isn't always accurate or you were alive back then? I think 'striker of the year' does mean something, and I fail to understand why you would know the editor of a German magazine is Danish.I reckon you are just bullshitting.
@CantBeShook Yeah of course you did, mate. What sort of grown man, that has a profession would go on Youtube and leave comments on videos like "My little sister could beat this cunt." "He's fucking shite. And weird!" "you're a gimp" "worst singer ever! potential retard!" "You're wrong, nobody agrees with you. You're just a silly little retard who knows nothing about football and can't see properly. Now fuck off, you have nothing more to say you daft cunt."
obviously the laudrup brothers are among the best footballplayers of all time..i would put michael laudrup in the top 3-5 players of all-time and brian in the top 10 to 15
@wendel88 good player ? definitely yes, top 5 of all time ? No way!!! I can name at least 50 better players, here are a few--George Best, Rumminige, Van Basten,Maradonna,Litbarski,Pele, GarrinchaGerd Mueller,Stoichkov, Platini,Eder,Bruno Conti,Jairzinho
@pilotl1011 we disagree thats fine. - I look at Michael as a true genius on a football field. he could make any team he played on a champion team.not a lot of players can do that.He had that aura of a perfect leader, his vision on the field was insane - he won everywhere he went in his career, has one of the best personal careers in football and has been given the award as the best Foreign player in the last 25 years in Spanish football (La liga) and thats when ALOT of stars were playing there.
@gwong93 Well he did play for AC Milan, Ajax, Fiorentina, Bayern Munchen and Chelsea too... I guess he is considered more of a rangers player though - gotta love him!
I will to the day I die claim that Brian Laudrup is among the best 10 dribblers that has ever been, and that said without knowing who the remaining 9 would be.
miss him and his brother, when are the new Laudrup generation coming?? We want MORE :-)
@RFCjc1993 obviously this guy is the legend and kaka isn't yet but that's not how you compare people. you compare the person to the one you knew first. If I was scottish or danish I probably would've known about him like in '99.
Fantastic player, i agree there should be more players like him nowadays. I mean Ronaldo is good but he's not nearly as much fun to watch as Laudrup or Bergkamp they both got this amazing elegance in their way of playing football.

One of the best video's i have ever seen on youtube brought back all the great times when Brian was at Rangers, usually the old clips aren't to good these were class!!!
Michael's sons are now professionals and waiting for their international breakthrough. Brian's son might become a prof, though it's a bit unlikely (he lost interest in football for some years)
@Eskidead If there were lots of players like Laudrups we would never diferenciate them , thats why laudrups are legends , cause there are no other players like them !
By far the best player to have played in SPL... Oh wait, I guess Henke was the second world class player to have played in the SPL, but Rangers were shit without Brian, I guess that just shows how important he was...
Brian Laudrup was a genius and as a Rangers season ticket holder I was fortunate to see him in action wearing a Rangers jersey. A true gent and professional. I doubt we will see his like again at Ibrox. An icon.
It is so hard for me to say which one was better Michael or Brian Laudrup. I think the older brother was a middlefielder and Brian a Striker. I have great respect for both of the magical Laudrups. But i keep Michael unforgetable Brian was better than his dad
But maybe Brian was even better than his big brother. It is a pity that his fragile right achilles tendon forced Brian to retire so early in his great carreer. When he was just 31 years old.
The most skillful and charismatic foreigner ever to play in Scotland by a country mile! Nobody even comes close - Denmark, Scotland & Rangers salutes you Brian! God bless.
I think he toughened up mentally as time went by, but I think his first years of international football scared him, from what ive heard from him. He was a more sensitive guy in his early years.
If you think Brian Laudrup is poetry in motion,, then take a gander at his big brother Michael, damn he was like in total balance when at his best,, They both played on the danish national team, aswell as their farther back in the late 60`s early 70`s, never saw him play tough, a little before my time,,
I can't watch this without getting goose bumps.....Growing up as a danish boy, having the Laudrup brothers and Schmeichel as heroes were great.

Brian was a winger, both were brilliant.

The most skillful and charismatic foreigner ever to play in Scotland by a country mile! Nobody even comes close - Denmark, Scotland & Rangers salutes you Brian! God bless.

I think this was a great underrated player, no one gave him his real value...

I think he toughened up mentally as time went by, but I think his first years of international football scared him, from what ive heard from him. He was a more sensitive guy in his early years.

Stupid little boy.

What is even funnier is this guy is POLISH.
Your "number one" goalkeeper is the joke of Scotland and Northern Ireland and your country is so good they all live in the UK.
gazwel83 2 years ago
it didnt suck then. even after the days of laudrup albertz, gattuso, numan, van bronkhorst, van hoojidonk, di canio, mols, de boer twins.

He should have played for bigger clubs, but as he said himself, his big mouth got the better of him.
When in Bayern he bad mouthed Der Kaiser and was frozen out the team. Too bad though.
Kasino80 2 years ago
Maybe but Rangers were one of the top clubs in the world at that time and no doubt the best in Britain.

He played for Rangers and AC Milan who are two of the biggest clubs in the world.

If you think Brian Laudrup is poetry in motion,, then take a gander at his big brother Michael, damn he was like in total balance when at his best,, They both played on the danish national team, aswell as their farther back in the late 60`s early 70`s, never saw him play tough, a little before my time,,
dinomand 2 years ago
I agree. Great talent. I never knew their father played. Interesting.
