I just bought this game, i don't like the combat very much to be honest. Infact the game does feel a bit restrained and should be more expansive. I do like the ship comabt though.
MMO patches will always have bugs, but there is a limit to what players should put up with. As the customer you should expect some kind of standard for what you spend.
I came back to STO for Season 4 from a year hiatus and I was immediately shocked about the state of the game. SEVERAL missions I tried to do had to be reset because errors in quest dialog trees, not being able to equip weapons, vanishing BOffs in ground missions...
Players should definitely call Cryptic on this one.
To be honest, I still see alot of potential in STO. However, after I have realized that my biggest issue isn't with the bugs, or even lack of current content ... but Atari's "Customer Service." I can remain patient with the guys over at Cryptic for right now, even with the issues it has at the moment, but I have NO PATIENTS for Atari. If I knew how Atari treated its customers before I started STO, I never would have played the game.
If you're thinking of buying an Atari game ... DON'T!!!!!
To conclude, I finally, FINALLY realize after all this loyalty that this will never, ever be a game with a lot of depth, and Cryptic (even with all their good intentions, which I have no doubt) are either inept and not up to the job.
If Cryptic made this game without the licence and simply called it "Deep Space Adventures" it wouldn't of stood a chance with this quality. I can't simply keep supporting this shallow game just because it is Star Trek.
Wow, it simply never ceases to amaze me how entitled and rabid some Star Trek fans can get. Seriously, S4, for whatever its worth, represents a huge degree of change and, in my opinion, good change. The game's definitely going in the right direction; faster UI response, higher quality textures, etc. And its only ever going to get better. Ppl need to quit whining, and deal criticism in a way that's more constructive and less bitch bitch bitch bitch.
People seem to be shocked that there are bugs in a major patch in an MMO. Have they never played an MMO before? The first week or more of every major patch in pretty much every MMO is a bugfest. I'll be waiting until all the bugs are fixed, and maybe until the dOff system is in place to renew my subscription, and then I know it'll be a ton of fun.
Am I the only one not to run into any bugs in S4? Not only that but my computer is crappy at playing games, yet I have'nt a single bug. weird sound in First City but that's it!
@PhoenixFlame17 If that : ), but with them taking the alcoves out of the Queens room should be a little interesting. The Cure was my favorite STF out of them all, and they are nerfing and shorting it : (, they should just create a newbie level for the players that have no idea what they are doing.
21:36 Season 4's not to my liking, with the loss of the Foundry and the loss open instanced fleet actions. Add on the shield & health nerfs from Ground 2.0, and you get a /unsubbed.
really? I see 3 dislikes there. Ground combat still needs big work in my opinion, and this patch has so much bugs in it its silly. Graphics wise the game used to look amazing on my pc but NOW I'm thinking they've done something to the resolution because it seems to have gone down a bit. Foundry still down.
Problem is noone plays Foundry missions these days, they became boring real quick, more make a mission then play them.
Your correct about content, i dont care for the flash they done , there is nothing to do ingame, Cryptic need to recognise this before STO will become semi successful.
@TheFewzz I wouldn't mind the C-Store if the prices weren't so expensive. Seriously, some ships cost...$25?! I can buy some video games for FAR less than that!
@TheFewzz Dude some foundry missions have 10,000+ plays. Sad that you don't play foundry missions some of them are epic.. Funny thing is, if they made the best foundry missions 'real' missions that you had to hail for.. You'd play them.
It would be nice to see a Docking Cut-scene when you are Docking at Earth Space Dock or Deep Space 9 and or Deep Space K7 and Drozanna Station

The reason so many people are upset I believe are as follows:
1) before S4, nothing to do. Kept playing cause they love Star Trek, not so much the game.
2) S4 was hyped up and said you will get this, this, and this.
3) "This, this, and this" postponed.
4) Arrives, buggy as hell, hundreds of thousands of man hours potentially lost in foundry.
5) Even with no bugs, still NOTHING to do for VA's.
6) Lost all hope in Cryptic, Cryptic at this point feels amateurish. Have no faith anymore.

l0l they didnt nerf your shield and hp values, they just retuned it. Ground combat is easier and faster in every single difficulty

5:27 No kidding. Season 4 is awful.
6:08 -1
7:16 In a negative way, imo.
7:35 Kits are better? rofl; Kits got nerfed!
9:02 You can roll the Borg Invasion into that pile of things that were supposed to be in S4 but wasn't.
11:55 +1; Bring back open instanced fleet actions!
14:00 -1; new ground doesn't have as many vaporizes as it used to :(
16:25 Good spin there.
19:04 I haven't seen any things to suggest that open instanced fleet actions are coming back.

That end ditch the C-store in a subbed game.
