  • is that john sykes

  • Johnny6666 stfu..there's no need for you to mention intelligence in a guitar lesson.

  • i thought anchoring was bad...i'm seeing alot of variations...i have gotten the alternate picking down but not sure if anchoring is kosher....Dave from Megadeth says bad to anchor... this guy doesn't seem to have a prob.

  • The guitar playing world record guy (Tiago Della Vega) anchors too, so I don't think it's a problem. He plays "The Flight of the Bumblebee at 320 BPM without any mistakes with his anchored picking technique. I guess we shouldn't worry about anchoring ^^

  • oh come on guys. im sick of people worshipping mediocre players. look up gustavo guerra THEN you will know who owns!

  • Marshall plaza:P

  • if he was playing all those amps, his ears would explode

  • this guy owns

  • lol, ur such a fool

  • bet you can walk in there, plug in your guitar and start shooting a video too?

  • It would make about as much sense.

I mean - obviously this dufus didn't get the jokes in 'Spinal Tap'. His fashion sense suggests as much.

    Haha!

  • Who talks about fashion sense in a guitar lesson video?!

  • Yeahh hes prolly playin through some 15w amp and usin the 400w of marshall potential just to look cool

  • Well the Marshall amps may be a thing of the past, but he's obviously an older person, so it's like he's paying homage. I personally like the company Genz-Benz. They'll give Mesa a run for their money!

  • uh why would you need that many amps and cabinets? unless you are in spinal tap that is

  • damn ,those amps are CRAP

whatever happened to marshall being GOOD?

  • well i don't got 600$ for eve a Line6 (yet) so i'll have to check that

  • man. if i had those marshalls....i'd sell them and purchase good amps.

  • lol.

  • me2

  • Hey i dont blame you or anything, I would never buy a marshall for how much they are no value in it.... but they have a huge crowd behind them.

  • well, the huge hype that marshall gets today is for what they did in the past. the old hand wired marshalls from the 60s and 70s were the best in the business (until boogies came along), and i'd probably keep a hendrix-age marshall, if i could ever afford one, let alone find one. nowadays, they have mass marketed their product and jim marshall has lost the heart of love within his amps that he had in his first years of business.

  • Yea i know all about it... But i like my Roland VGA-5... use to be $1000 retail and now they dont make them anymore so i cannot complain about it... I see it as the highest amp in DIGITAL series.... I dont think ill sell it. i just need a speaker and a overdrive pedal, something like a METAL MUFF w/Boots.

  • roland makes great modeling amps. i love the microcube.

  • does anyone know if that's just wallpaper or if it's actually a massive stack of amps?

  • i'm pretty sure its wallpaper.

  • It doesnt take a genius to figure that those are real Marshall amps. Look at the wheels at the bottom. If you are passionate about something you can afford to buy them. This guy is giving good tips on playing guitar and you are picking on him. Jeeesh

  • Those are Marshall Amps. If you are passionate about something you can afford them. Why are you picking on such things. Why dont you give us guitar lessons and let me pick on you for a change

  • i actually didn't pick on him, i picked on marshall amps. but, if you'd truely want some help with guitar i would help you, but there is far better teachers on youtube than i.

  • are they boxes?

  • Lol its obviously real amps but hes porbably not playing through all of them

  • no dude its real

  • yer i think its real because if you can see theres a wire on the floor gone underneath the amps

  • get me some of that wallpaper

  • Hey!! This is not about the marshalls... Its about picking!! Ofcourse he is not using them all! Relax!

  • fast guitar doesn't necessarily mean interesting

good photoshop skill though, on copying and pasting those Marshall

  • That guitar is not tuned correctly

  • you would think he could manage some better tone with all those marshalls.....

  • whats funny is hes only pluged into one amp the rest are for show

  • if you are reffering to concert stacks then you are right. OF COURSE he isnt plugged into all those amps. they all have heads on themyou could plug into that many. that is retarded. in concerts they have empty stacks and one amp in front or the back mic'd up to the PA system to regulate all the sound.

  • wow i always thought that they used all of them live, like slayer i thought they used all of them, so i guess its just for show?

  • I have to side with the economy pickers. Alternate picking is really valuable in situations where there's an even number of notes per string. It just doesn't make sense to waste motion and use extra strokes when there's an odd number of notes per string. You lose a certain level of attack, but you gain relaxation, comfort, tone, and speed. Your thoughts?

  • When your yngwie malmsteen you can play any way you want too. the guy could play with all up strokes and be fast as hell. every player should practice every way. and plus economy picking is usually used for more than one string, as well its not usually used in strict linear passages. It also depends on the left hand fingereing and what part of the phrase is most comfortable. There are way to many factors to make any kind of arguement for either side.

  • going down, up, down, down, is called "economy picking." Yngwie Malmsteen, the MASTER OF SHRED" uses it all the time. If you master it, it's actually faster than alternating when switching strings.

  • Is that Megadeth's new guitarist?

  • Megadeath's new guitarist is named Chris Broderick; I don't how you could mix the two up, Chris destroys this guy (no offence to the person in this video intended)

The only megadeath related thing that I could think of with for this guy is he looks almost like Marty Friedman.

  • Because I didn't listen to this video before I wrote this. But he looks like Chris to me. I just saw Megadeth at the the Salem Armory in Oregon a couple weeks ago! Chris did a great job nailing Marty's riffs.

  • I guess in a way thats understandable, I saw Chris with Nevermore a while back, Chris also has his guitar up at his nipples and this guy has his guitar wayyy to low.

  • Someones been learning from Paul Gilbert :P

  • no it's actually from michael angelo batio. but possibly ALSO from paul gilbert too

  • i dont really agree with the strictly alternate picking thing, it depends on what kind of attack you want. if ur speed picking and want alot of attack then alternate pick, but if u want a more fluid sound and to play a little faster u could just economy pick, especially for three note per string patterns. i think theres actually a video of frank gambale explaining it on youtube somewhere

  • what's wrong with goin Down Down at once? isn't it a SWEEP? :) it just give different motion

  • well i do that to sweep on 2 strings while going up the neck

  • you rock!

  • "down up down down, down up down down" lololol that was really funny, but true :)

  • can i have a marshall of urs

  • Great advice, Thanks!!

  • thats great advice man. thanks

  • Thanks Man. This really helps! you freakin' Rock!
