  • I love seeing units run long hood forward. Reminds me of all the pictures of high hood units that I've seen that the road that serves the south ran.

  • what is 3 step i hear that alot 3 step protection

  • Jordon, It's something new the railroad started doing a few years ago. Basically the Engineer has to take 3 steps , take it out of gear, apply the brakes, he cant move the train again untill the person who asked for 3 step releases the protection,

  • o ok thanks for the info now one more question what is a track authority for the mow

  • Nice video Walter.one thing i do like about your video's there is always something going on,not just the trains,it is the ground staff as well, great stuff.5*

  • It is not been funny Walter it is been dedicated!!!!!!!!!!!!....LOL

  • nice video Walter! 5*

have a question though, how does the EOT device work?

  • Basically it replaces a Caboose. The EOT is linked to an HOT Head of Train Device on the Locomotive. The Engineer can see how much air pressure he has on the rear of the train. It help shoot the brakes in an emergency application of the brakes as well. By having an air reading on the rear he knows no hoses are disconnected or valves cut out anywhere in the train. Cabooses all had air guages on them when crews rode the rear. Thanks for watching Ben
