I have my own made internal mufflers made out of mesh to have back pressure but not muffle the sound to much.

You will get more hp. if you put some kind of muffler on it. A little back presser helps a lot.

Nice job. I had a CL175 in the late '80s that I had a parts bike for, and the extra engine was good. I too was going to build a kart with the engine, but never found a suitable frame at the time... I just bought a '71 CB175 bike I plan to get on the road.  I love these little engines.
