I think that the movie is worse than i wished that it would be.The show is one of my favorites,and it's AWESOME,but the movie should have been much,much better...I wish they would make the second movie,and if they make it,i wish that it would be as great as the show!

FU for all those who thinks theirs words can make someone changes their minds about this movie saying just bad stuffs about it and they still don't realize that was amazingly similar to the show, it does sux that maybe had enough money to make it longer or w/e. but i personally think it was pretty decent and the final made me tears of emotion with the "flow like water" song and aang controlling water, so, people, I'm sure none of you critics could do this better with the money Shyamalan used

Actually it was really similar, not as other movies made from cartoons who directors just change everything including names. and yes, it should have been better, but money is a important fact to make diamonds shine, so, they had like... ummm not enough.

@iffecita To make a proper adaption, you need a good script. They didn't have one. Their script was terribly written, filled with bad dialogue and a lot of exposition. They didn't capture the spirit of the cartoon at all.

@iffecita I can't name many things it had in common. There's not one line of common dialog (and is atrocious) , the names are changed, the bending is entirely different, plotholes that are covered in the series are gaping here (storing Earthbenders in a rock quarry), Katara is merely a spectator, Aang's arc is effectively over at the end of the film (aka: overcoming his self doubt), and its completely miscast. Aside from the aerial view of the Northern Water Tribe, everything else is wrong.

@iffecita No it wasn't similar to the show. They downplayed everything and changed every event. For instance, in the show Aang first fights Zuko on his ship, then as he's leaving Zuko grabs on and forces Aang into the water nearly killing him. Aang comes out in the Avatar State, kicks ass, and just about totals Zuko's ship by the end of it. In the series.... he just leaves. Nothing exciting. Just leaves. And yes I could have done better just by copying and pasting scenes from the series.

I thought the movie was great, you get worse acting from the cartoon and I loved the cartoon. I think the problem is, everybody wants to be a critic and to be a critic you often have to give a great movie a thumbs down. I say screw you critics, you will never get paid to do it.

@theL3G10N A great example of a critic who's garnered a lot of undeserved attention is Roger Ebert.

Example: he loves movies like "Spy Kids," "Gulliver's Travels," and "The Mummy 3," but hates "Thor," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Jurassic Park," and "Schindler's List." If he hates "The Last Airbender" too, so be it. He's an idiot either way. I don't even trust him when he gives positive reviews to movies I DO like.
