A wise old man once told me it was dangerous to go alone. He handed me a stick of butter. Prior to this event I always carried a towel around with me and thought that was enough. Not only was I proven wrong by that old man (which resulted in some wonderful butterbeer mind you) but I also stumbled across some knights who demanded a shrubbery of me. Needless to say I blend into forest terrifically, I'm always dry, and I'm never in need of drink.

just a suggestion because if you want to still have the creamy taste of the topping WITHOUT it being a topping may i suggest for a slightly healthier version, use light cream/creamo with the vanilla extract and skip the sugar, thats what i did, tastes yummy

I just made the hot version, here's some small tips I discovered.

1) An easy way to know if the milk is hot enough is if small bubbles are starting to form on the side of the pot. It may be too hot to drink immediately, but once you've finished serving it up and putting the cream on top it will be just right.

2) Don't put that much sugar in! I put less sugar in than they did, and now I can't stop giggling! Too much sugar! I want to go to bed so bad! But I can't!

I recommend less/no sugar.

In Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, South Africa and Lebanon one cup is commonly defined as 250 millilitres. (A metric cup)

United States customary cup is defined as half a U.S. pint.

Elsewhere, there is no cups I would assume. This is all taken from wikipedia, take it or leave it as fact.

at least you know butter beer used to be an ACTUAL drink over here in the UK. Heston (chef) actually shows you show to make the original with beer and butter but for most people, this is a pretty good version. :]
