The girls that wear these dresses are all about the princess look, and don't even consider the logistics of wearing something so enormous! And it's not just the struggle to get them to sit at the bridal table, they couldn't even walk properly! To me it defeats the purpose of wearing something that you consider to be the epitome of beauty, if you're walking like you're trying to kick a dog poo off the toe end of your shoe.

Wow there is so much myths about Travellers!! I only watched the series but it was enough to know majorety of these negative comments are completely not true. It's a culture like mine or yours with all its quirks and traditions. All this attitude seems to have been formed in the dark ages and not changed much since. I'm glad it's becoming more common to learn about their way of life, it's facinating.

The dresses are HUGE but nowhere near hideous unless you like plain jane no frills no muss no fuss kind of wedding dresses which is fine. I want someone to answer me this riddle: WHERE DO THEY GET THE MONEY TO HAVE THESE ELABORATE WEDDINGS AND DRESSES?!?! They have to make it somewhere some way. And is the wedding the last celebration the bride has?

Very few have a house, and that is because they have not found out they are gypsys or better said 'travellers' . Whoever tells you its because they WANT to, they are liars.

Wow, just reading some of these comments helps me to realize how little is known about Gypsies and Travellers. And yes we have them in America too, yet nothing is known, but everyone has no problems making assumptions. With that being said, these dresses are all the women have to showcase themselves. The men kinda rule in this world. As for the space.... they have plenty of space.
