the tubes are to short and are suckin hot air you probably just destroyed your torque you need to get the filters out toward the font of the car and away from the heat of the engine. these guys are probalby rite about the factory box being better than what you have here .
ok,let me aks you this question.Where your filters are located right now, isnt it sucking in hot air?Wouldnt it be a better idea to extend tubing and locate the filters up front where it would intake cold air? Or is there a fitment issue with the longer tubes? Please reply ,i want to do a cold air intake on my c32,just wanted to know.Thanx
Can you post the details of the parts you used and any special gotchas? Approximate costs, time to do this job, etc? I like the idea, want to give it a try myself. You also mention heat shields and air ports... did you ever get around to that and what is the purpose of those?
@donbunch99; Not sure if I ever replied to you. Yes, did full enclosed system. Everything together ran around $100 dollars, and took about five hours from design to completion.
who ever you are you are really fuckin retarted and know nothing about cars, becuse your car is breathing HOT air and you just ruined a perfectly engeneered German car, the stock intake is better moron!!!!!!
@pirafamily ; You sure about that dip shit? I built a completely custom enclosure that's a sealed system. Went from 2 1/2" air inlets to 4"... The C32 gained 20WHP/20WTQ on the dyno... The only thing the stock intake does compared to mine is look better. Even without the sealed intake system I think those two cone filters would perform better than the OE intake. Stock intake is perfect for stock engine, but becomes restrictive on a modified m112k with the supercharger compressing up to 22PSI!
@pirafamily ; By the way, I checked your profile. Why don't you get some videos up showing your massive amounts of car knowledge before you start talking shit. You do realize this is a supercharged engine, and that supercharger in itself raises intake temperature A LOT!
@kanekumar94; I did built a full enclosure out of 6" PVC sections, 6" to 4" metallic adapter, and 4" metallic tubing. It worked out well, and doesn't look too bad with a black paint job to top it off. I'm now running the stock intake with K&N's except for at the drag strip where I use this custom intake. Plan to redesign with smaller filters. Hopefully can do 5" enclosure, 5" to 3" adapter, and 3" tubing.
@gt4awd Thats probably his point, your intake won't make things better. It's hot enough. But I didn't come here to rubbish your work. I bet it sounds freaking mean under a load!!! Yes I am jealous of your car :)
@xlucho22x; You're calling me a moron yet you can't even read the comments. Fourth time I've said this now. I built it into a sealed intake system... It gained 20WHP/20WTQ on a dyno...
i found that having the air filters that close just sucks up all the hot air, i went and bought flex tubing from autozone and now i have no problem with it, its great
your going to get heat soak, your sucking all the hot air from the exhaust manifolds, remember hot air rises

@urungutang; Made a custom enclosure for the filters, and used 4" metal tubing to both ram ports. It was basically a sealed system.

Heat shield, and air tubing will be setup soon. It's going to have plenty of fresh air...
