Hi I tried to make this but it's still not tasting like the one I always have from a tofu house restaurant. I used a soybean paste & red pepper paste to the broth. Is that right? Do you have any particular brand of paste you recommend?
@jinks30 The soup will not taste exactly like the restaurants as every recipe is a little different. Most restaurants use water with instant dash powder with MSG rather than making the broth from scratch. If you are looking for that particular flavor in your broth, you may want to pick up some dried soup base and use that to prepare your broth. To clarify on the paste; you will need to use Gochujang (Korean chili paste) rather than Ddanjang (soy bean paste) for this recipe.
@alquiora I am not too familiar with green chili paste, other than using it to make curry. Korean red chili paste is sweet and spicy. If you don't have it, you don't need to use it. You can adjust the taste by adding the flavors you want. Please e-mail me if you'd like to find out more about how Korean chili paste is made.
