@SinclairDelux I think they actually put way too many scuff marks on the floor to be realistic, considering he didn't move around half of the room like that. Their movement radius wasn't as big as the marks depict...lol

idk bout the cop. But the cilvilan stoped cause of the cop car. And even though i wouldnt let him put that thing on my head. Most people have no idea wat it is, and wat its used for. probaly thought he was checking something.
@sirap10117 Specifically, its called a "captive bolt pistol" (because it uses high-pressure air or a small explosive charge to fire the bolt forward, but the bolt's "captive", so it doesn't fly out. Also, they don't use these, anymore, at abbatoirs (slaughterhouses, although I bet I misspelled it.)
first of all, why the hell would you situate a desk facing the wall?... second why the hell would you situate a prisoner behind you where you can't see him?!
In the book he severs his artery and blood spurts all over the wall. It's weird reading the book after seeing the movie, almost sacreligious, but rewarding as well caz as great as the film is, just doesn't cut it like the book itself...
@camhirtle yes, after this movie, i also bought the book. pleasantly surprised that the movie wasn't all that different from it. wish others like Harry Potter could adhere to the original story.
The opening statment by TLJ's character, is something that I thought was totally unbelieveable. Out West and especially on the Border Peace Officers were always packing Heat.
What I don't understand was how this run-of-the-mill deputy managed to arrest Chigurh in the first place. Based on the carnage he wrecked throughout the rest of the movie you'd think they'd need the National Guard to take him down.
My guess is he lucked into catching Chigurh unarmed and decided to take him in for being some "drifter". Chigurh played along, so the deputy dropped his guard.
Rumors say, Chigurh wanted to get caught to see if he could get out of the situation, or for his own pleasure, who knows?
In the novel it is mentioned the Chigurh got arrested for being in some bar brawl while drunk, and had some strange idea why he would allow himself to be arrested.
@lando30001 i think that story tommy lee jones' character was telling alluded to his death. i think his character had a heart attack and died right after he told that story.
@lando30001 throws you for a loop, I know, heh. Thing I like about it is the way it puts another element of the story into perspective. A more philosophical, real-to-life story.
@Maloperverso I disagree. I loved the ending. It was the whole point of the title. At the beginning Tommy Lee Jones' character talks about how sheriffs didn't even wear guns in years prior, and in the end he realizes he has no way of fighting the kind of evil Anton Chigurgh and men like him are capable of. It's no country for old men any more.
Anton is NOT a good hitman. How many people does he kill to find the suitcase? The cop, this driver, another truck driver, the other two guys in the desert at night, the three Mexicans in the hotel, Carson, the Big Boss, Luelyn's wife, the hotel clerk. That's a dozen people in a week just on this one assignment.
@r5t6y7u8 The dude probably gets more thrills from klling than for the money itself......That's a hit-man, if you ask me. Especially if he pulled it off.
