the phone does not come with a video recorder but you can have video playback on there but i belive you must download flash 1st before you can use it

i dunno if anyone's pointed out the obvious yet but, there's a standard mini-usb port on the bottom. it comes w/ a headset w/ a usb connector, you can buy them for like $10 AND there is a dongle that affords the device an 1/8th" back, and two usb ports for charging, etc. again, like $10. this phone is A) a tech's dream, B) a consumer's dream and C) an iPhone killer, because the only thing that makes the iPhone cool, is the selection of apps. shazam, loopt, etc. are all available for android.

The reason it doesn't have a headphone jack I found out, is because it doesn't need one. We don't need them anymore because it has blutooth you use wireless headphones with it.

more importantly, the usb port is universal - pun intended. having an 1/8th" jack alone would be mono-purpose.

and for the record, I frickinl LOVE my gphone!!!

i do own the G1! i LOVE it. it DOESN'T compare with the iPhone. =) i love apple to death, but i think that news blip on Onion describes people who use apple in a nutshell.

the iPhone doesn't do MMS, won't do video recording (G1 will with the next update), doesn't copy and paste, doesn't have FTP apps, can't control my PC, can't VNC into my PC, doesn't have a camera app that allows for the adjustment of white balance, etc., doesn't have SD Cards, etc. LOVE my G1!!!

i was at the store two days ago getting a new phone from t-mobile and i was debating blackberry curve 8320 or the g1 i went with the curve and its great. i can record video watch youtube and the internet its pretty fast. ill wait a while to see what happens to the g1 maybe ill get the g2.

Yes, they are. Dude Get the iPhone! it's better than that..... I'm not saying that the G1 is not cool but the iPhone has a UI really advance and easy UA! and stop being dumb! (the guys from the video!)

Have you compared the two??? both iphones are closed, the g1 is an open source platform... compare the two in a month and you'll see which one is better that is if you can grasp the idea "open source platform".

you can jailbreak it. Plus the iPhone has more better hardware. I tried the GPS on the G1 and it doesn't work it showed that I was in the freeway and I was in the mall. the iPhone takes 5 seconds to find you exact location the acceremoter is cool the games are better.....dude you are paying 179 for a Phone with 1GB and the iPhone is 199 with 8GB and it has a headphone jack and it's flushed. the new update the 2.2 has a lot of new features in google maps and other apps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I "HAD" an Iphone 3g and the GPS on that sux too. Anyway i own the G1 and it is a great device. You have to own it and play with it to really appreciate it

Not tryna start nothin but for those who don't know the g1 does accept hcsd cards (16GB). I will admit he headphone thing does suck though, im still gonna grab it(developers kit is bad ass)

No need for headphone jack and wires! Use bloothtooth wireless. The future is wireless! :D
