With all due respect to Ebi I am afraid I think if Ebi were to sing this he would ruin it. Ebi has a good voice but it has been many years since he has sung well. I think Mohammad Reza is doing an excellent job by himself.
I went to Ebi's concert last year and he sounded sooo good. He sang beautifuly and clear for so many hours. I think Ebi's still doing great and sounds great. But I also think this song would not be good for Ebi, not becuase he doesn't have a good voice but because this style of song isn't really Ebi's type. I don't think it would have the same feel to it. The way asrar sings it, is so honest and pure and is PERFECT for this song.
Very strong words soothing our souls after loosing our friends by our cruel government...
The whole song is only on 4 chords and 1 single melody; simple but great like "Where did you last sleep last night" of nirvana, a single melody and sequence of chords in whole song.
It's funny how people can make up theories about others based on what they have "heard" from a few others!! Only acceptable scientific theories must be based on first hand experiments that are both accurate and repeatable. For the past two years I have been traveling back to Iran after many decades of absence, what I found was a different culture than I remembered as a kid.
Some of the ideas that have been lost in the new western cultures are still alive and thriving there! Unity and aid of others are two of these traits. Call me what you want, but the facts stay the same.
How many Iranians have you talked to? Probably, only a small fraction. Contrary to your experience I am hearing different stories from Iran. Particularly for the past few weeks I, and the world, have seen many acts of sacrifice, teamwork, and integrity. And there are those who have been tortured and murdered as political prisoners for freedom in Iran, but no one heard of them because the regime has been successfully shutting all voices. So, please dont dismiss our nation so nonchalantly!
I am told that during the 1979 revolution, the same thing happened! unity, its only natural to do so.
but, if you put God in place of these thugs, today, starting tomorrow; the grocery man, the merchant, the banker, the government worker, .. will all be there. I am even told that most Iranians don't FULLY trust each other here in LA, neither.

Dude you might be partially right but for the most part you are way off. If the revolution diverted from it's original path it wasn't a phenomena exclusive to Iranians. We know for fact that French revolution wasn't quite faithful to it's original path either and was passed to the hands of Napoleon, Russian revolution was transformed into Tyrannical Communism and Chinese revolution was similarly a failure in terms of freedom. Look what s happened to your revolution in US.lol
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
good points, but that only goes to say that those revolutions weren't fruitfull right away. That is, who's to say that French revolution was not a step forward in the long run even though like you said in the short term it diagressed from its promisses etc. don't you agree?
and about this song, I solely see it as an artist trying to express his unrest against oppression through his song. It's not necessarilly endorcing any ideology...
Very very lovely.

Oh Uncle chain maker ( a cultural story figure), the injustice spider
Dont build a trap for whoever becomes your enemy
A deep trap full of hatred, darkness and ENMITY
So Pile after piles of corpse be over carpet
In middle of night, three women walk
On the anonymous corps they crawl
Their black veil and red lips
And their dancing shadows, scares the mankind, Yes indeed
They are sacrifice, they tell you
Sleeping in your bed, they may drink blood from your lips
dimo7 2 years ago 2
Who said the world runs on your finger?
Or whoever has a black body is your slave?
With tired and uneven marbles
The end of the game is marked with a black dice
You will fall behind us; youre not even from us
Your curse will bring you evil and you will lose for sure
dimo7 2 years ago 2
Oh Uncle Chain maker, did you made the chains?
Did you bring usury to your table?
You didnt see bad from us, but you considered us enemy
Didnt they say you saw God in your dream last night?
God is in beautiful sleep I say and a day without permission
Ill let STATUARY to sculpt me a God
A SCOUNDREL witch black eye and hart
One who is able to vanish you for good
dimo7 2 years ago 3
Oh Uncle Chain Maker, one day from the door behind
He will vanish WITHOUT news
Goes away from our sight and brightens our heart
The day that he will be just a shadow will come
Oh Uncle chain maker the injustice spider
Dont build a trap for whoever becomes your enemy

70 million people who cheat each other every day for the past 50 years, are seeking freedom and Justice?
NO?
Who can you trust in your town, today? Jealousy, competition, lack of team work!
The great Cyrus came to be because of great Aryan/Persian people.
When the majority of people are good, these fools leave your town/country!
Freedom comes with personal responsibility!
EVERY Iranian needs to change Himself/Herself, if they seek a great Country/Nation, AGAIN!

Look what s happened to your revolution in US.lol

good points, but that only goes to say that those revolutions weren't fruitfull right away. That is, who's to say that French revolution was not a step forward in the long run even though like you said in the short term it diagressed from its promisses etc. don't you agree?
and about this song, I solely see it as an artist trying to express his unrest against oppression through his song. It's not necessarilly endorcing any ideology...
