Mine is truly free! Connectivity when on the move isn't however coz you still need satellites for tracking. Its commonsense man! I compared to google gps using google maps software and is slower than N8's built in every time.
I deleted all my factory installed maps and installed the latest and relevant ones only. So far, it is very good.
-.- Wow people dont look whats in their phones... Some phones have BUILT IN navigation system for them it is free. If the phone does NOT have in built navigation its not free, hence u have to buy the navigation thing for your phone.
E75 for example is not navigation phone, it does not have built in navigation system. It has the map application, but it cannot locate the satellite cause it doesnt have the built in navi. Simple as that.
"Navigation in everyones pocket absolutely FREE forever. " Please stop lying. You have said to me it doesn't apply to Nokia 6220 Classic. I was very disappointed, and still you keep on claiming this. Truly a shame for otherwise a nice phone.
"Navigation in everyones pocket absolutely FREE forever. " Olkaa nyt kilttejä ja lakatkaa valehtelemasta. Ei saa kuulemma 6220 Classiciin ilmaiseksi. Olin tosi pettynyt, kun ei onnistu, ja tätä edelleen toitotetaan. Todella sääli, sillä muutoin olen puhelimeen tyytyväinen.
i have N95 8gb ... what i should to do now to use my gps?! no free maps for my mobile & i can't get a licence becz i don't have a cridet card & i'll never sale my mobile to get n97 or somthing becz i payed all my mouny to get N95 8gb.
hey hii. I use Nokia 5800 and my map version is v3.03 10wk01 b05 MW Open GL LM MN, and When I use the navigation in OFFLINE, still my credit balance get's reduced... How to avoid being charged?
Hey there, I want to win the nokia n900. I was wondering if what can I do to win it? articles just say that "send your ideas" so how can I tell my ideas? am i creating a video or I will just type all my ideas?
You need to download a new version of Nokia Maps (Version 3.03) and install it in order to navigate for free. Right now it only works on 10 different models and Nokia say they will make it work on more phones in the future, so check out their site if you could use v 3.03 on your phone. Good luck!
Yea I read up on it last night, I have the N97, they are working on it. Supposed to be out today just thought it was strange the N97 mini had it already but not the N97 itself. Can't wait to get it, I had it for the 3 month trial and it was useful.
i bought a battery for my 6131 and it was not working it did not recharge at all so i took it back and they gave me another one that lasts less than the old one
This is a pure advertising GIMMICK on a GLOBAL SCALE. Ovi Maps DOES NOT SUPPORT FREE NAVIGATION for NOKIA 6220 Classic. It only supports their high-end models that are having POOR SALES due to cheaper competing models. Check out Nokia's website and you will see it supports only 10 models!
I don't give a shit about maps, until the nokia symbian phones crashing all the times unexpectedly :S Mainly: my N97 is a complete disaster also with the latest Nokia-service-installed updates... I can proove it with complete documented history of repairs and problems.
Maps for free forever? no-no-no... Nokia not again forvever!
o = online

Never buying a Nokia again, especially not a Nokia with Symbian and that Ovi bollocks on it. Its OS is damn slow.
MrAccountancy 1 year ago
frellin' fake news. The free navigation is still (two months after i found out) not released to GPS phones like the E75, that's bullshit.

now i 've spent 32 euro and i have a battery that i cannot use to do my job cause its duration is 2 or 1 and a half day this sucks
they wont change it cause they say its not a nokia one but i bought it from a decent store of wind telephone company
i went to 2 nokia dealers to check it
the first said that the battery it's ok and has no problem
then i went to another nokia dealer in another town and he said that it is a fake battery
your resellers in greece really r thiefs and suck .

Well I'm confused . AS far as I know the maps are free but the navigation is not. You have to pay to get navigation from one point to another
medtik 2 years ago
Yea, you used to have to pay for navigation, but they're supporting free navigation in their newest version of ovi maps.
Free and offline navigation for 74 countries worldwide, this I have to give Nokia the thumbs up for. Beats Google Maps Navigation by a mile.
