@johnyprestige As I hope you know, when stating a basic major or minor key signature, each letter name must be said once, followed by either sharp or flat. Now again as I hope you know, in a basic major key, they only either consist of ALL flats or ALL sharps. You can't state a key with one sharp and one flat. So using those two things I stated, let's explore the "key of G#". We must first state all the letters. GABCDEFG. Since it is a sharped key signature, we will be using sharps, no flats.

@samyewell So lets use sharps to make the key of G#. First we have G#, then A#, B#, C#, D#, E#, and then- F double sharp?? The key of A FLAT MAJOR has a G in it.But we can't say the letter G (natural) in the key of G# because G# is the note with the letter G in it. I guess you could technically put a double sharp in a key signature, but I have NEVER heard or seen anyone put a double sharp in a key signature. Thus, everyone uses the key of A FLAT when stating this key, which is tonally the same.

@samyewell This holds true to other keys as well... Such as D# major. Why would anyone use the key of D# or G# when they could use the key of E Flat and A Flat respectively. It makes more sense when communicating to other musicians.

@samyewell yes, it is enharmonically the same. So when transcribing to sheet music you use an a flat scale, but in terms of practicality it is exactly the same. A flat is exactly the same as g sharp except how it is written, which this isn't. I know my theory, you don't have to explain it to me.

Great Tutorial, I'm in the process of making my own song but when i copy my wobble bass over to make wobble bass 2 my notes never copy over just the frequency and track, I've tried numerous different ways of copying the notes over and none are working. could you help me out?

@ImperialLobsterMusic I had this problem at first, with me it was that I had this video open at the same time as reason. No other programs that use sound such as the internet, traktor, itunes, ext. can be open, this was my problem, but it could be your combinator or instrument is not properly plugged into the mixer, simply hit the tab key on your keyboard to check the wireing of your rack. Hope this was helpfull. PM me if you have any other questions. = )

3/16 isn't triplets it's 3 sixteenth notes, so each beat (or click of the metronome on default settings) is divided into 4 and 3 of those are played before the waveform is complete (and repeats from the beginning)

1/16T should be sixteenth note triplets

Also, I am in no way criticizing, you have taught me some great technique, just clarifying for those not apt in music theory

Okay if anyone is having trouble getting sound out of the second Thor, make sure that both of your Thor units are contained within the combinator. When I created mine they were put underneath the combinator, so I had to click and drag them up past the little blue line to group them together. Now everything works fine.

@Anonymouslulzmachine sometimes you have to save and close reason and re open what you were working on, I found out if you close everything but reason on your computer you will get much better performance and that shouldnt happen as often, if that doesnt work you should go to edit--->preferences-->audio---­> now select your audio card and you should be good :)

@aarya09 It sounds like you might only be sending notes to the first Thor by using a track attached specifically to that Thor instead of to the whole Combinator. If you make a track for the Combinator instead, that should send it to both Thors.

If you still don't hear it, but you do see the NOTE ON light coming on, then it might be your speakers or headphones just not letting you hear it..

@killuminaty187 yeah you can plug your usb keyboard in. Make sure you've gone to preferences and then to keyboards and control surfaces, hit auto - detect and root your keyboard to reason. Then exit. go to the track screen and next to the instrument you want to play make sure the lil red circle is selected. to switch instruments hit the circle next to them in the track screen. NOT THE RACK!!! I had this issue last week. Im sure BIAB has a tutoria on his websitel if theres still an issue.

anyway so i was messing aorund taking what i've learned and i figurd out a way to link the LFO rate to one of the knobs on the combinator for live recording and variable wobbles...yaay me..

probably an easy thing for anyoen to do lol..but for those that dont. Combinator "show programmer"..click on the instrument from the list under device ..right..you click target and select the LFO rate..now you play and move the knob n change rate as u play.
