"Reagan would be considered a big bad "evil Neocon" by Ron Paul and his supporters"
Not quite. We wouldn't agree with his interventionism, but Reagan himself said that the United States should "never be an aggressor in a war" as was against militarily occupying the Middle East or spread freedom and democracy through the barrell of a gun. Be it in Vietnam or Iraq.
I'm a Paul supporter, but the bible thumping hypocrits are a major part of the problem here in America. Uneducated douche bags don't help either (South Carolina). I have hope for the young people though.
is a extremist but it has been proven by his history that he has always supported the constitution by the way he votes. So are they
arguying that to be a constitutionalist is in
some way extreme? Then why has all the previous presidents and future presidents swear to uphold the constitution? Are they lying? or have they been lying for along time now? It looks like it!!
Reagan would be considered a big bad "evil Neocon" by Ron Paul and his supporters. While Reagan is one of my favorite presidents lets not forget he oversaw the invasion of Panama, and left office with a huge debt.
Southern Avenger and Alex Jones should replace Rush and Sean on 790AM in Virginia. Good Job Southern Avernger! Stick to the facts! Good Job Ron Paul sticking to the facts and Win!
The We the People Act is my biggest beef with Paul. I agree with him that if schools want to have school prayer than technically he's right about the Constitution and the federal govt shouldn't stop them... but banning the Supreme Court from hearing all State laws regarding religion is ignoring the whole "natural rights" of man which influenced Madison and the Bill of Rights. Even if you take it away on a state level you still take it away
My understanding is that the Supreme Court was not created to deal with the constitutionality of the States but rather with the Federal government vis-a-vis the constitution. Further, the idea that the unelected, unable-to-be-recalled Supreme Court would establish the law of the land was considered dangerous by the libertarian founders.
Okay... but where does it end? If you ban the Supreme Court from hearing local laws regarding religion then you have to ban it from hearing local laws regarding freedom of speech too right? I mean the wording in the Constitution is the same for both speech and religion (ie "Congress shall write no law...") Was it really the intent of the founders to allow that? What happened to these rights being granted by our Creator?
The question to me is not where does it end, but, rather, what is the best way to guarantee the rights granted by our creator. For the U.S., I think a decentralized federation is the best political guarantee. Let states make the mistakes they will. The outrages in history happen in great centralized states.
I have been working four counties in support of Dr.Ron Paul Lee,Kershaw,Chesterfield, and Lancaster with the help of Brian Gentry SC State Coordinator.
I love where you said that the reason the major conservative media is ignoring Paul is because they HAVE to ignore him in order to save face. That is so true. Why do you think a guy like Limbaugh gives Paul no consideration? Because Limbaugh has been calling himself a "Reagan Conservative" for 20 years! Unfortunately for Limbaugh, he's (d)evolved into a neocon warmonger, so he can never go back without looking like a hypocrite. The media has dug its own grave.
I hope that caller realizes time is short and he had better check with his state registration process. Many states require you be registered AS A REPUBLICAN 30 days or more in advance of voting in the primaries.
Ah good to know. THanks for the explanation awmwtp. I only wish it were that way where I'm at, I think :-D having never been this affected by a primary makes my knowledge of 'closed primary' features and benefits limited.
John Adams wrote in the 'Articles of Tripoli', Article #11, "The United States Government is in no way shape or form a christian government."
The monstrous Theocracy of Europe was at an end during these articles.
It is important now to remember tolerance we just can't keep getting stuck on--my religion's better than yours--The constitution allows us to have diversity of thought and those who would want to oppress for their own selfish means do not support it.
The Reagan administration was infiltrated by neocons, but Bush Sr. is considered the first neocon President. Irving Kristol, Norman Podhoretz and co. coined the phrase long before Reagan was in office.
The point remains that however imperfectly, Reagan popularized the "small government" message in the American popular mind. Paul is the first Republican presidential contender to pick up the torch.
If you call Bush Sr. a neocon, then you have to call Eisenhower a neocon. Bush Sr. did NOT want to invade Iraq when advisors like Wolfowitz etc, pursued him to do so.
the reason why so many people all over the political spectrum support Ron Paul is because he believes in individual rights. I am a teacher and have always been annoyed at the idea of prayer in school, but rp's comments have made me think. If it is voluntary, than maybe it should be allowed.
It should be obvious after his remarks about state-sanctioned prayer: Ron Paul is not a libertarian. He is a states-rights Anti-Federalist.

South Carolina is an open primary state. You need a valid identification and to be a registered voter. Party does not matter.
