  • Wow, I never played this one but it looks cool!

  • takes me back a bit this game. If i remember correctly in the arcade even if you reached the Number 1 score on the score table the game would still shout "What a load of crap" at the end. this would frustrate my dad no end so he would put more money in. haha

  • Jesus, it's only a computer game!, Wots with all the aggression ? Lol , chill.... :-)

  • OK before anyone moans, the MSX version has both but the tune sounds like it's only 2 channels (may be more but it sounds like 2 anyway so who cares?) and the sfx only 1 at a time; but MSX scrolling is crap lol.

Select music on the C64 version, make peeeow peeeow *bang* noises and get on with it lol

Might do a quick vid with the music, don't actually like Nemesis really but it's worth it if nobody else has the music track. Pretty good considering nobody that talented did the SID tune for it :)

  • @MadCommodore if you play the SCC version of Nemesis, oh man. 5 channels.

The MSX PSG is 3 channels.

  • @Arkhandroid

I had this game, and Salamander, on the PC-Engine. Fantastic on that machine and the version of choice until my MMX Pentium laptop with Sparcade for DOS (so I had those two and Vulcan Venture playing all the time in arcade quality in late 90s)

  • lol it does have pretty good version of the arcade music but u can only have FX or music selected, same for all computer versions as most had just 3 channel sound.

If Salamander wasn't so great, Nemesis would have looked better for a C64, but it's either this or MSX version. rest are shit.

It actually is superior to Amstrad/Spectrum version, MSX version isn't great with char scroll jerk-o-vision so that just leaves console games costing £30 more or 400%

If BoB Stevenson had done gfx tho....

  • I was considering playing this, but after this video, I'll give it a miss.

It seems the developers tried to Commodore-ise the gameplay by making it feel more like Delta or Katakis.

  • @MattTheSpratt This is one of the best games you'll ever play imo

  • Hmm sounds crap without the music!

  • @MadCommodore Tell that to Ironlord2015. Hes challenged.

  • Oh man thanks for the upload. Brings back happy memories.

  • I was addicted to this game on the C-64

Any one know an Emulator and rom for this game.

    Get in touch, Thanks

  • There's a great C64 emulator I use regularly called 'VICE', you should find it easy enough through Google, just put "C64 emulator+VICE" you should find it no problem. For the games/disk images, C64(dot)c o m is a great site packed full of games, mainly cracked & trained ones from the cracking scene, but there are MANY other sites you can find easily enough with a simple Google search, but if you don't find any, let me know & i'll point you in the right direction for a couple of good ones ;)

  • @DodgyVideoz 1 Year Ago, I posted this, I cant find the ROM for Nemesis any where. Any help PEOPLE?

  • I remember this one, so great!

  • C64 version looks so poor than the MSX version which has better graphics, awesome music and no "blinking" bullets/enemies and also some bonus fields (founded three) when I used to play Nemesis in the late 80´s. I hope to find a video of that some day.

  • Ah well, you can't have everything can you? Anyway, overall, C64 had far superior games than most 8 bit systems anyway, for starters, in the stunning sounds & music of the mighty SID chip, that's a winner hands down, even before you talk about any actual games. Wizball - amazing, Parallax - amazing, the Last Ninja series - amazing, Arkanoid - amazing, Creatures 1&2 - amazing fun games with ace grfx & sounds, Mayhem In Monsterland, ACE platform game which showed off what the 64 can really do..Etc

  • @Ironlord2015 dont forget the part where the VIC-II has shit colors, and that most Japanese arcade games ported to C64 were destroyed by the flids who programmed them.

R-Type with no music? LOL no.

    Nemesis with no music? FFS.

    MSX is better.

I like how you failed to name the multitude of shit games on the C64. We all know there were a ton.

    Double Dragon? Contra? Side Arms?

    ;)

  • @Arkhandroid Why would I mention a "multitude of shit games"? I didn't spend my childhood on my beloved C64 playing shit games did I? I mentioned the ones that in my opinion are fantastic, they were back then & still are now. I never said there weren't shit games, of course there were, but that's hardly "failing" just cause my opinion differs to yours. I don't care what other systems had, the 64 wins every time just for having the mighty SID chip alone ALWAYS! & 3 games is hardly a "ton" ;)

  • @Ironlord2015

SID doesn't automagically make shitty ports of games worth it. Go play Sidearms, let me know how that works out with the SID. Then go play R-Type. Enjoy your sound FX-less port because the coders were idiots and couldn't manage balancing SFX/Music with the almighty SID's single volume register.

Far superior is a stretch, you're blinded by the SID. Take it out and you have drab colored, chunky graphic'd trash most of the time.

Europeans suck at making games ~90% of the time

  • @Arkhandroid I'm clearly not gonna to get anywhere here. You obviously don't like the superior C64 & it's "go & play" not "go play" annoying! So, a "few" games didn't have sound/music, big deal they're not the games I mentioned anyway, and not the ones that were the best & had amazing music etc. If you were a SID fan & knew what I was talking about then it'd need NO explanation. That's a bit of a sweeping statement "Europeans suck" I thought it was vacuum cleaners that sucked but there you go.

  • @Ironlord2015 if you're going to comment on grammar, try to form better posts yourself, jackass.

If a game doesn't have music + sfx, it cannot be the superior version. Anyone who thinks it is, is a dumbass.

  • @Arkhandroid You been asleep for a month? I mean why even bother replying NOW? Also, absolutely nothing wrong with my posts, & who the fuck you calling jackass big man? think you're big & hard sat there behind your computer eh? you're a classic case of a complete ignoramous. Anyone who thinks or has a different opinion to yours is, as you finalised your wonderful comments with..."a dumbass" yes ladies & gents, if you disagree with Arkhandroid here you're a "dumbass" (stupid American slang word)

  • @Ironlord2015 no I just don't check my youtube inbox very often because I have better things to do that converse with mongs/flids/twats.

I can tell you're British given your overly aggressive attitude.

Any game that mimics an arcade game but omits music and or sfx, is unable to be superior as it doesn't have everything required.

If you don't understand that, get your cock out of the C64 and start thinking clearly.

    cunt. <<< Funny British slang.

  • @Arkhandroid fuck me you are one serious boring bastard, and as for me being "overly aggressive" you couldn't be further from the truth...shows how much you know (very little)....anyway I aint gonna waste any more of my time on you as you're obviously a retard (universal global slang for cocks like you) (btw, cunt isn't funny) My time here is done.....see yer later cockface.

  • @Ironlord2015

I like how rather than argue the point with actual information you just resort to saying cock alot.

Good job. Maybe come talk after you're done thinking about whoever it is you just sucked off. Flid.

  • @Arkhandroid No problem cockhead

  • @Ironlord2015 Typical. dumbass. brit. IM NOT GOING TO WASTE ANY MORE OF MY TIME ON YOU. MY TIME HERE IS DONE, BUT ILL BE SURE TO CHECK FOR REPLIES AND COME COMMENT ANYWAYS BECAUSE IM A HUGE GOPPING TWAT.

let me know when you can form an informed argument. I'm guessing it will be never because you're balls deep in some tea sipping tool, whispering C64 praise in his ear while you fondle his sack.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ironlord2015 Sorry Ironlord, that comment was meant for the American dick head with his head firmly wedged up his conceited arse ;).

  • @Arkhandroid Nemesis on the C64 "did" have music, you had to press the relevant keys if you wanted it on or off!. R-Type also had music during game play on the C64 so what fucking drugs have you been smoking?. And EVERY system has a TON of shit games, what's your point?.

  • @blade004 My mistake, I meant no SFX for R-Type. Yes they have them, but The SFX in Rtype are bullshit and are overpowered by the music. The music is good, but the lack of SFX ruins it.

as for Nemesis, having to toggle music on/off is dumb and European.

Every system had a ton of shit games, yes. However, Konami games should not be part of the shit. The C64 versions of these are pretty crapass. Not as bad as Sidearms though. That one is by far the worst.

  • Hey if the C64 wanted an 8x8 character scroll pukefest like the MSX it could easily have done it and the music is awesome (which is not playing on this video)

  • you know you can upgrade the missle twice right?

  • No music!
