I heard this song on a combination of disco songs in 1976 and I never knew it was Gloria Gaynor until I saw the credits. I thought it was the group First Choice but damn now I have this song to keep. Thank you for posting. Talk about bringing back my young 20s again, wow.
Of the two reigning dance divas of the mid to late '70's I always thought Gloria Gaynor's body of work was better as a whole than Donna Summer's. The only two good songs Ms. Summer ever had out was "Love To Love You baby" and Bad Girls (lp version). Her other stuff just stunk up the joint. Gloria Gaynor's work stayed true to the R&B roots of good old funk with an orchestra added to liven things up!
@rantrover i think ur the only one in the world who thinks that gloria's music is better, look at the charts and positions and you will see donna and gloria are not in the same league,,, that being said donna worked with giorgio moroder and pete bellote and they did euro-disco wich is diferent from gloria's disco... and vocally donna's voice is more smooth and diverse then glorias..... i love them both tho just saying
Gloria Gaynor headlines Disco Ball 9 Live @ Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort Atlantic City New Jersey USA on Saturday October 16, 2010. The biggest classic 70s disco concert ever---13 artists----
When I first heard this song it was on an 8 track tape, (yes I am going way back in time) I didn't know this was Gloria Gaynor. I tried in vain to find out who the singer was so I thought it might have been the group First Choice. It took me years and years to find it and hear it is. Thank u so much for posting this great gem.

Yessir, Gloria is the reigning Queen of the Disco Liberation Anthems ("If You Want It...", "I Will Survive". Love that borrowed Motown sound, too.

@Atomank68 Gloria is really just the Dutchess. Donna is the Queen.
