Just wondering if you can take vocal out of "I want to love again" by chaunda curelley from Diary of a Mad black woman. I really love that song and would love to perform it
I kept hearing rumors Carol Kaye was on this version and not James... I know James was on Diana's version, that's a definite James bass riff on that version. I can understand the confusion because Carol Kaye said she was on some Motown sessions in Los Angeles. But this was recorded in Detroit so that leads me to believe James played on this too.
@timmy841212 You heard wrong this stuff is JAMES JAMERSON This CAROL KAYE S*** needs to stop now Dont get me wrong carol is a good musician and she knows her stuff and she may be a better teacher. But she is no JAMES JAMERSON. "Once you learn the way plays Bass and the tone he produces", Hopefully you wont make these mistakes in the future. ( If you want to here Caro Kaye play listen to the Brady Bunch Theme) She recorded that with the (LA Wrecking Crew) .
Yeah this is the Funk Brothers except for the bass which is Carol Kaye so sorry Jamerson Pushers he's already in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame so he's got his accolades it's now Carol Kaye's turn to finally get her's
Watched "Unsung" on Tammi Terrell. Despite her short life, she lived a full life and she and Marvin were a match made in Heaven. RIP to the both of them.
@RRNYC1998 what the fuck is the need to call her a sexy negro chick?...go to the land of oz...they're still waiting for you to come pick up your brain....
Jamerson plays lead on just about everything he plays in. The warmth and color and feel is something you can enjoy for hours on end!!! Thanks! The rest is icing on the cake!
What a pleasure to listen to this old classic. I love the way the drums build up the tension in the chorus and then it just explodes and repeats...Brilliant!!!
The Funk Brothers are my favorite group of musicians.
My favorite version of this song is the Sister Act 2 version--I wonder how it would have sounded if its instrumental had been done by the Funk Brothers and its vocal by Motown singers.
the fabulous funk brothers never got enough credit for their talent.if you get the chance, please watch standing in the shadows of motown.its the story of the funk brothers.wonderful movie, finally gives the funk brothers some of the exposure they deserve, they should have been recognized alot sooner.they deserve so much more credit .please watch.
Sometimes I am sooooooooooo slow. I read your info box four time before it hit me - they're backup is a SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ! No WONDER I love this ! !! Orchestral pop is MY style.
Thanks again for posting this. I just put it on my favorites. I post no music myself, but 12 people have subbed to my favorites. I've got 200 playlists with over 2500 songs, from the 50s - 90s.
yt beta'd me this week and my lists are now a shuffled mess, sorry.
Edwin, don't know how you accessed the master to pop out the lyrics and present us with this - it's an absolute TREASURE !!!
Behind all vocalists exists an arranger/conductor who can be the REAL force behind whether a song is a winner or a dog. This FANTASTIC arrangement had as much to do with our love of the song as the actual vocals!
Notice there's no melody here - it's written for the singers to carry the melody line all by themselves!
For ME, it's the most awesome video I have seen ever !
i love the original version but 'ross' version in 1970 was a completely different style but BOTH are great versions it still has the JAMERSON BASS STYLE
thankyou heaps for this.. i am currently studying and a music academy and our assignment is to cover this song.. its so easy and clear to learn the music from this and i also had no idea there were guitars in this lol cheers =]
Tooson : Usually, the best way to do it is to dig for the instrumental.. some singles provide it... or just put empty loops together...
Then u have the wave inversion technique... Its not a genuinely accurate technique but it can give some incredible results (as this one).. R u familiar with any audio processing software... i could explain u how to do it in 10 minutes..
this is actually not an inversion technique... i have obtained from a torrent the music with vocals, drums, strings, etc. separated.. i just mixed them up without the vocals... i also have same recordings for what's going on, sgt peppers & a day in the life :)
on inversion technique though, the bass & drum parts will be removed together with the vocal
hehe sorry:) and thanks for posting this incredible piece of music! Id be really curious to know how many instrumentals like this its possible to find
yeah i was gonna say that aswell, the inversion technique, well as far as i know, cant really give you these kind of results, youd hear alot of destortion and faint whispers almost in the backround aswell which is usually a giveaway
Hey neopandorex2, thanks so lot for your answer. I do have Goldwave. Do you think it is possible to do it with that software. I am waiting for your answer.
i love it!! ..thank you so much for uploading this!
