He says he's usign an X. And he does a nice jobs of playing showing off his skill, but not showing off the full function of the keyboard. He just played the piano. Nice job BTW. but the S will do more than that. Even though the X's will do much more now days.

@100benjamin Thanks, I try to keep my video stuff simple. May be to simple. Didn't want to show function, Just my new SRX-02 piano sound. In the future, I'll be adding more detail instructions of useful info.

Thanks...But The Fantom is not black. There is a shadow from the keyboard above the fantom that makes the fantom look black... but its not. Just a video illusion. Thank for the comment.

I think its a Sound Blaster Brand (sound card) from a Dell 8250 (Year 2000) and 2.4 gig 512k mem. Didn't use any mixing compression or effects from the sound card.This Great sound came from Roland SRX-o2 Sound Expander card right from the Roland Fantom S-61 keyboard.

I find it so irritating when people leave their irrelevant opinions as comments. Perhaps next time when he brings up a string patch you can point out how the Vienna Symphonic Library is far superior. Sorry, I don't remember the patch name . The patch was unedited. It might be named Concert Grand 03. Anyway, just go over all the patches once you get the Sound module.

Can you tell me which song this is from McBride...concrete angel? Is this your arrangement or can one buy the sheet music. I saw sheet music for sale that was not as nice as your playing (i.e. guitar setting and vocal etc....) Prefer piano solo. Thanks!

Sorry for the Confusion. The Roland SRX-02 is Roland's best Piano sound Card for the Roland Fantom S 61. The reverb and the Piano sound is comming from the Roland SRX-02 sound Card only which I Installed 2 months ago.

The Fantom-X series is being discontinued... the new Roland Fantom G series will be taking its place in a couple of months

Stick with the cheaper X, I got the X8 when it was released and thoroughly checked out the new G8....I have to say, I'm happy sticking with the X. It's a much more user friendly operating system with features that are enough for 99% of players.

Yes, you need a amp or you can run a set of head phones to hear the Fantom X8. Are you going adding demos of your new keyboard on Youtube? if so, i would like to hear your music.

You're best off with a PAIR of powered studio monitors for home use... if you're gigging, then sure, get an amp.

No amp. I'm running my roland output from back of keyboard to the back of my computers sound card. Aalso, having the roland SRX-02 sound module helps recreate a reverb back stage sound and That Great Piano sound from Roland!
