In all honesty, Marcos did great in his first term. He proposed varieties of solutions to decrease poverty and to make the Philippines economy better. Kind of like Roosevelt... dare I say. HOWEVER, when his efforts weren't being recognized and realized into reality (allegedly because of corruption in the government, redirecting funds to private accounts and other BS), a few selected Filipino people ultimately blamed him for the corruptions that he may or may not have done. And so riots ensued.
