dude... i'm thinking about getting one of these...
right now i'm running through a marshall valvestate 2x12 combo and i'm thinking about getting a 4x12 extension cab and then a marshall half stack when i get the money so i'll have a full stack.
dude this may sound like a stupid question but i jus recently bought the Marshall 100 HDFX head k heres the question: HOW THE HELL DO YOU USE THE EFFECTS LOOP? WHAT DOES IT EXACTLY DO? IS IT A LOOP MACHINE TYPE OF THING? well that several but jus thought you would know
dude its called artificial harmonics i think and i think it depends on how hot your pick-ups are check out pinch harmonics lesson by rockon good people
u know how treble tones dont make that rumble a bass can? this makes that rumble by pure volume! (my friend has a 120 watt amp) makes the windows and floor shake!
I got this amp and it gives you great bang for your buck. It can easily blast over a band. The distortion isn't that great, so I use a few pedals. I run my guitar through a crybaby wah pedal, then through a Boss MetalZone, then through a Boss Blues Driver pedal and that blues driver pedal does a great job of emulating a tube sound out of this amp.
Hi, for everybody who doesn't know this amp: first of all: BUY IT! It's a great amp! After buying it take your time. It has a lot of knobs, and you need hours and hours to find all the things that this amp can do. While playing take a few meters distance. It's a non ventilated cabinet, which means that from some distance the sound is very diferent. The crunch is a switch on the clean channel that makes it sound like the old JCM 800's. ACDC, Slash, Jimi Page and Hendrix. This amp does it all!
Hey how do you like this thing...I'm not so interested in higher notes my bag is all about crunch...I want that chug that makes your balls vibrate...ya know...does this do the job?? I mean being a solid state amp...obviously it's not being compared to a tube amp...
I havn't played this exact amp. But to get a "vibrate ya balls" chug, use it on teh clean channel with the low/bass knob anywhere between 7 and 10. The High/Trebble knob between 5 and 7. and the Middle knob at 10 (Havning lots of mids means that the sound will carry better and you'll be able to be heard over a band etc). Then use a distortion pedal such as:
Behringer Ultra Metal (UM300)
Boss Metalzone
Boss Metalcore
You a good thing to do would be run it through a noise gate. :)
how did he change channel quickly without using a pedal??? lol sorry im a noob cause i only use practice amp...T.T tips plz im looking for a good amp....
Please Help Me Out, What Did You Have The Clean and OD set at on this amp, i can't get my amp to sound as good as you had this one, i play a schecter hellraiser EMG 81/85
i play out of 3 half stacks (MARSHALL 2 1982 JCM800'S A MG100HDFX)and i have a few more amps but the marshalls i use mostly.i run the MG100HDFX together with the JCM800'S and its a perferct combination kicks major ass and delievers every time.
the slanted cab is made to project the sound further. While the straight cab plays it straight out the slanted cab will project some of the sound upwards and further outwards.
Very nice series of videos of this amp. I've owned it for well over a year now and it hasn't let me down. If anybody else is looking for sound clips of this amp, you can hear it in all my videos. Sounds great for Sabbath and like styles of music. Again, nice videos.
never done a show with mine, but it would quite easily overpower drums. i knocked a picture of my wall with this amp, its one of the louder halfstacks ive played.
angled cabs are made to project the sound to head level, to make it easier to hear. if you get just a halfstack, most ppl suggest getting the slant, then if you wanna make it a full stack from bottom up go straight, slant, head.
Man! I really like these Marshall MG100HDFX heads!! I just put up a video of me playing mine through my 1960AV cab. I think you're getting really close to a JCM 800 tone in this video!! Sounds GREAT!!
its smaller than the 1960's cabs and the head is way smaller than any other head but this is a good thing cos u can get it around much easier. only problem i have is that it has no wheels but u can fix ur own on.
the mg is a good amp in comparison to a marshall dsl or tsl which are the ambolute shiz in my opinion. it has a warm tube like crunch on the overdrive which is what marshall is mainly known for. the clean is pritty good too but id say the AVTX amps are better.
I used to adopt the tube-whore mentality and thought the AVT was better since it has a preamp tube(the rest of the preamp is solid state BTW). I realized the MG overall sounds better, it doesn't get muddy or lost in the mix like the AVT does.
Also, it's been band tested. I've played it along with loud drumsets & other guitars. It cuts in and is loud enough even at half master half drive.
Although you should have a more in depth demo of it, showing every possible channel & its different stuff. Like clean channel clean and crunch, drive channel classic and insane.

well wats the significant difference?

slanted cab goes ontop, flat cab is the base

the slanted cab is made to project the sound further. While the straight cab plays it straight out the slanted cab will project some of the sound upwards and further outwards.
