  • what about people who say they've been to hell.....like that 23 minutes in hell guy?

  • @shockem22 - What guy?

  • GREAT VIDEOS!

  • Thanks for posting this video. I understand this parable much better now. Thanks!

  • Im just wandering if BIBILEORTRADITIONs will be discussing all the parables. I hope you would consider The Parables of the 5 Virgins-with their lamps. One of my favorite. As far as i know its all about the fullness of the church, the gifts of the holy spirit, and the 2nd coming. But as always Bibleortraditions has something to reveal that gives us new knowledge. GODBLESS

  • I will, as time permits. I would love to be able to spend all day in God's Word and making videos.

  • Finally people who knows the truth of God. I am sick of the ignorant people who tries to disprove God with science when they don't realize how hypocritical they are since stuff like evolution are not definite truths just a bunch of propaganda. If fossils are millions years old shouldn't they already break apart? Or maybe these fossils that are so easy to find even though they should be under deep layers of dirt?

  • @yeastori: My friend you are correct in billlions of years and Evolution being false. But your statement about fossils is misunderstood. I just want you to love God with yur mind as well by getting educated on this. God bless.

    goto creation . com

  • Great Job again BoT. I love your videos because I learn so much.

Please do a video on Christmas and it's Catholic-Pagan roots and traditions. We as Christians should not be following it.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC AMEN!!!!

  • Thanks aethiops. Jesus was conceived in Winter (6 months into Elizabeth's preganancy) most likely on the first day of Chanukka - the Festival of Lights (Jesus is the LIGHT of the world).

Jesus was most likely born on 15th of Tishrei (Sukkot - first day of Feast of Tabernacles) and was circumsized on the 8th day of the Feast.

If you want to celebrate Jesus' real birth in 2010, it is September 23 in the Gregorian calendar.

  • @FAITH - I agree. Immanuel means "God with us", so the 1st day of Tabernacles seems very likely. Lots of evidence which points to this day.

  • Correction on my part: It would be Sept 22 of 2010. Here are the dates of Sukkot (Jesus' birth for the next few years:

    Sukkot begins at sundown in the Diaspora on: * Mon, 13 October 2008 (15th of Tishrei, 5769) * Fri, 02 October 2009 (15th of Tishrei, 5770) * Wed, 22 September 2010 (15th of Tishrei, 5771) * Wed, 12 October 2011 (15th of Tishrei, 5772) * Sun, 30 September 2012 (15th of Tishrei, 5773)

  • You certainly make me think of things differently. One thing I have wondered though, Can the Roman Catholic Church be equated to the Pharisees?

  • Absolutely. The largest crime against the Jews in Jesus' day was trhat they took their traditions and they placed them on equal level or above Scripture. Roman Catholicism does exactly the same thing. The Roman Catholic Catechism actually goes far to say that the Bible cannot stand alone... it needs the magestaruim (papacy) and "sacred" traditions.

  • "Christians" who believe that we should accept homosexuality, abortion, old earth and evolution into our belief are no different from those pharisees and papists.

  • I am a creationist and I believe in a literal 6 day creation. But there are people who believe that God used evolution as a means. We must remember, these people are still Christians. It's really not a salvation issue. They are wrong, but it is not a teaching that determines the eternal destiny.

  • Revelations 20 to 25. Best proof that hell is a place of waiting until the lake of fire is opened

  • What do you mean by "hell"? Fiery torment? The grave? :/

  • I mean that hell is actually what they call purgatory and what we considers the fiery place. It's written that hell and death will be swallowed up by the lake of fire in Revelations 22 I think, which means that hell and the lake of fire are two different things and that people are think it's one and the same when it's not.

  • No. Purgatory is temporal punishment according to Rome. We know there is no such place. However, Rome teaches that Christ died for our sins, but we all must pay the penalty. Purgatory is a fiery torment, exactly how they define "hell". But instead of eternal punishment, it is only for a set time. Usuall thousands and even 100's of thousands of years!

  • Awesome stuff. Looking forward to part 4.

  • Bravo & well done brother.

It's a blessing to see someone else teaching TRUE gospel instead of the "time honored traditions of the church"

    Amira (loveualatte)

  • Terrific segment. I always enjoy watching your detailed studies of the Scripture.

    God bless you.

  • Good stuff. Another eye opener.

  • Jesus taught many parables without prefacing the story with, "This is a parable." Read Luke 15 & 16 as an example. There are several.

Jesus may not have used proper names often in parables, but He did in this one. And as we see, the name is very significant. The name Lazarus means "whom God helps". It wasnt by chance He used this name, it carries deep meaning to the story.

  • In-light of this teaching could you please bring some clarification to Luke 23:43 When Jesus tells the criminal on the cross today he would be with Him in paradise.

  • @gweems - Let me ask you a question, when Jesus Christ was hanging there on the cross, and He bowed His head and died, was He going to paradise? Was He heading to heaven? The answer is no. He was heading into the grave. He was to fulfill the sign of Jonah, 3 days & 3 nights in the grave. So the traditional explanation of those who believe in the immortal soul does not make sense based on this verse. For the simple fact, Jesus was heading to the grave and not heaven.

  • Right i was always taught that Jesus went to paradise when he diead then when he resurrected He brought paradise to heaven. See paradise and hell use to be together separated by a large golf until when Jesus resurrected to heaven taken paradise to heaven. That's what i have always been taught.

  • @gweems - OK. This is why the Bible tells us to search Scripture daily to see if things be so. I was raised and educated in Roman Catholicism, and I was expected to believe a lot of teachings not found in the Bible. It is quite sad that so many Roman Catholics, after learning the truth, will still continue to believe the teachings of these modern day Pharisees. They make the word of God of no effect through their vein traditions.

  • BoT, I love your videos and your excellent teaching, but I have to question you on that point. I always understood the sign of Jonah to be the Resurrection of Christ, not the amount of time in the Grave. And if Christ wasn't talking of Paradise, what was he saying to the repentant thief?Anyways, I love your work and fruit. God bless you always.

  • No. Througout His ministry, Christ said He would spend three days and nights in the grave:

"But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:"

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Matthew 12:39-40

  • The original greek did not have English punctuation. This was added by the translators. Let's read the verse (Luke 23:43) with the comma removed:

And Jesus said unto him, "Verily I say unto thee today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Jesus was not saying to the thief that he would be with Christ that day. Jesus was making an emphatic statement... "believe me today" or "believe me this day". The statement was emphatically saying "You will be with Me in paradise!"

  • Jesus was not going to paradise, but the grave for three days and nights.

AFTER His resurrection, Mary was so excited to see Him, she tried to touch Him:

"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." John 20:17

See, Jesus had not been in paradise or heaven. He had not ascended yet. He tasted death for us. He went into "hell"... THE GRAVE.

  • EXACTLY! If Jesus said that he was going to Heaven that day, I guess that would make him a liar because of the verse you just gave and in 2 Peter who says Jesus was in Hades when He died.

Nowhere in the Bible does it state that we are going to Heaven or Hell when we die.

  • There is no such place as the Bosom of Abraham. And that was what the Parable was also about.

  • I believe that the bosom of Abraham is a metaphor for one who inherits the promise God gave to Abraham for his children. Can anyone agree or confirm this notion?

  • loved it

  • Great video, thanks.
