@aishasherri yes! absolutely! but I suggest you start with an 8% or 12.5% strength first. Try doing 6 treatments, waiting 2 weeks between treatments. It works wonders. I am a black woman & I started with a Lactic acid peel, which faded my stretchmarks and eliminated hyperpigmentation on my elbows & a few scars on my legs. It's amazing stuff.
Great tutorial video! Thanks so much! I was wondering? I have dark pigment around my lips from putting straight tea tree oil on my face by accident 13 years ago when I was 17! Sometimes they are hardly noticed, but other times they are and make me look older than I am. Will an 8% or 12.5% be okay for that?
Hey I love ur video, please can you help me out with something, I am brown skin, but my elbow is a little dark could almost be black, would a TCA peel, work, and how strong do you think I should go, please I would really appreciate your help/answer, thank you very
I think I spent like 80 bucks on these two peels,( tca& jessner)and neither worked. I think next tim I just cough up the 200$ and go to the dermatologist and get 1 proper peel.
I have bought the tca and the jessner peel from makeupartistchoice, but I have to say they are both very weak. All the 21% tca did to my skin after proper application was, to turn it red a bit, but no peeling or flaking what so ever. The jessner seems better to me, although it stinks and after the first application I literally got dizzy and weak, with a bad headache for hours. I dont know if it really is as pure as it should be when you buy stuff from these on-line places.
I have a questions. I've never used any sort of chemical peel before. Is it okay to start with a TCA peel at the lowest percentage or should you use AHA peel first and let your skin get used to using strong substances on your skin?
I did a test part, and it is taking weeks so far to peel. I see they say something about baking soda but I didnt do that part, cause I didnt see you do it.
hey i recently purchased a 15% TCA peel from MUAC and was reading a lot about it and some people were saying to "degrease" your face first by rubbing alcohol/acetone on your face after washing but before the peel? Is this really a necessary step in order to achieve good results? Great vid btw!!! Also, what would you put on right after the peel?
if you want a skin lightener/brghtener do not use crazy chemicals instead use natural stuff like lemon juice, cucumber juice um...papaya soap, glutathione soap(glutathione is found in the body so it's100% safe)
and make sure you exfoliate and use sunscreen i would say spf 70 the least
im naturally light skin so i don't really need to do any of those things but exfoliate and use sunscreen
i am dark brown skin whatevah you refer to it as lol i hav minor acne dark spots on my forhead&oily skin&a little acne on my cheeks &forehead what kind of peel do you suggest? should i even get one? what percent? & where can i buy one?
is there a complete tutorial on peels i purchased a tca 50% it says to dilute it and it does have directions but it's not that simple i tired in on my arm and i look like i burnt myself i have acne scariing what do i do
it only light skin that has been darkened by the sun or if u have age spots... It will make you as light as you can be but you wont get lighter than your original skin tone
I have a question I have used an 18% TCA peel and I didn't see no frosting or any kind of affect. Is that normal ? Because I was thinking whether it worked out or not.
I actually did it today and what I did see was the skin looked more wrinkled O.o But very slightly but the skin remained it's color. I left it around 5 mins as instructed and when I put the baking soda mixed with water I started to feel a sting but it couldv'e been just the baking soda. The skin looks fine now, didn't turn red or anything.
you know...I'm not totally sure. But I think they would work great on legs. I have heard of TCA peels being used to lighten tattoos...so I would assume they are pretty versatile pees. If you DO end up trying it on your legs...let me know! :-)
I am black and I am a bit darker than you. Maybe a shade but I have a lot of hyperpigmentation which has went down from the 15% TCA peel but I am considering getting the 18% TCA peel for my hyperpigmentation? Have you ever tried it? What do you think it would do since I am black?
y havnt i heard of this before. iv seen som before and after pictures of people using it nd it did magic. if this is that good y dont people just use this instead of proactive? it does treat pimples rite?
hey i've never had a skin peel done before do you think i should start off with 8% and move up? i have tan skin and i'm a latino with a bit of scarring what do you suggest i do?
I would suggest you seek an experienced dermatologist who performs TCA peel. This is something very strong and can lead to permanent scarring if done wrongly. You don't want to take such a risk by doing it yourself...trust me on this.
ur so cute! thanks 4 the info, u just got a new sub. i just ordered some lactic acid and Glycolic acid. i have some scars that i know will need a TCA but i'm scared. i think i might have to go to the spa for that, my complexion is slightly darker than yours so i don't want to risk further scaring.
Okay so I see it works for you. But I have heard that many people of darker skin tone can scar as a result of peels. So in general, would you recommend the 12.5% TCA for other brown skinned people?
Well, I am not necessarily "dark skinned" so I guess that's why it worked well for me. I do have to admit the 21% DID cause a bit of scarring on me. Way too powerful. I think its best for people of color to stick to Glycolic, Lactic, and Gly-lactic peels.
Well, I SHOULD'VE been stuck around the house for a few days. Like an idiot, I went to the park with my friend twice. It didn't do any visibly permanent damage, but it was EXTREMLY discomforting.
And yes, this peel can be used under the eyes I just reccommend you be very careful if you're going to get that close to some organs that can be greatly damaged by chemical acids.
I did a 20% 2 layers in 2009 looked like a hot mess for 7 days but it removed all of my sun spots

I don't think this will get rid of Keloids. From the site I got mine from it says it won't get rid of keloid scarring.

whats the difference between glycolic and tricholoroacetic? which is better?
jakekhanph 3 years ago
3-5 x glycolic = 1 x tricholoroacetic
do the math :]
i do suggest u use glycolic first before using TCA. 'cuz it'll burn ur skin off if u're not used to ur skin exfoliating, yet

Thanks for making this video it's helpful. It seems like using a small brush would distribute the acid more evenly and quickly than cuetips.
Also, I have read about other people using TCA under eyes to get rid of fine lines. They didn't report any problems with doing this.
As far as the severity of the peeling, were you stuck in your house for several days afterwards?
