  • woow so difference before 2 year and now

  • well wrestlingwatchingfan, almost , this building is 828mtrs very tall but 2 twin towers on top of eachother makes 832mtrs its still a giant though

  • Hopefully it's not too windy out there in the desert

  • Amazing! Check out my video about Burj Dubai... :D !!! Awesome.....

  • Wonder if there is a limit....air,winds,motion sickness on upper floors, dunno just asking. Why not build one one so tall you could take an elevator to space....catch a shuttle and cruise around....

  • why would a building need that many floors?

  • This is one of the signs of 'Qayamah' that people of desert will compete each other on making tallest buildings. This was told by our beloved Prophet (SAW) 1400 years ago......

Shame on those who are wasting their money on such a pity things. Anyways they will be questioned by Allah in 'Akhirah'.......

  • is that so??

  • is really dangerous to have the biggest building

  • 0:37 ^^

  • The top of the tower raises bit over 1 kilometer for today.

  • this towers more than 2 world trade centres on top of each other easily

  • @Wrestlingwatchingfan um, so does my bungalow now

  • NWO

  • there are one better 820 meter in dubai new

  • i saw this 2 months a go it looks so biig bigg when i mean big i mean big and it was not evern done like it can rech out of space

  • Hi. Aprox by the year 2020 a laptop will reach the human brain potential for processing data which means that there is a huge market waiting for hundreds of billions dollars to be sold or invested in humanoid robots and intelligent systems and the beginning of the bigger industry ever maid in human history. Search on Google luisbeck007 you will find the most complete humanoid robot list in the World, good information and interesting issues.

  • I wonder that french man ,spiderman will have acrack at climbing it.

  • Just think what America could do if they started driling there own oil in there back yard!!!!!!!!!!!

  • made south korean

  • Almost too much to work in or live in. I'd be afraid I'd die of low oxygen on the top floors.

  • the end of times is near..

isnt it funny how this tower looks just like the tower in the film the lord of the rings? search for it people..

  • weird ass music and the angles make it looks small

  • Most of the engineers were probably educated in England or America, as they are the best. If the citizens of Dubai had built these themselves without outsourcing then it would be impressive. Its all bought with oil money anyway; once most of the west goes green the money will leave these oil rich nations.

  • @mjp102 I agree, they think having this buildings is going to bring them prestige, but it's not about how tall they are. Those are American symbols. Ex: Microsoft the biggest software company in the world, it's buildings are no more than 7 floors high.

  • @djmz1969 thats not why they are doin this they predict they will be low on oil by the year 2016 and oil is their main source of income.

  • Oil revenue is a pretty small part of Dubai's economy (about 6%). In the past it was much more important.

  • Imagine if earthquake hits. What will happen then to this building???

  • @semaz94 they thought about that and any storm that may come, its said that the building can handle anything..

  • One sign of the end of the world says that people will make a contest of building a bigger buildings this is all scary to me.People are stupid they should take care of ohw to save our nature and ice melting, not stupid building contest:?!!!!Also Qur'an and Bible I think mention that

  • and what would be the logical reason why people build bigger buildings before the end of the world?

  • @NoWayFolding Pride mostly. Probably.

The prophecy is this: "Naked, poor and destitute sheperds will compete in the construction of tall buildings"

Dubai used to be a poor town of camel shepards. So it is kinda creepy.

  • ice is supposed to melt, that is what it normally does.

  • people seem to be forgetting `Blackpool tower` in Lancashire England which IS much taller than this ;-)

  • @marshalllucky that thing is only 158 meters.

    this one is over 500

    idiot.

  • lol

  • this one is almost 1km... 800meters!!!!! Blackpool tower is nowhere near as high.

  • trust me its not!

  • lulz.

    nice troll.

  • It's like something out of a sci-fi movie; the dark, evil alien overlord's base.

  • the tower just opend its 2717 feet high

im goin there when i go on vacation

  • Impressive. Wow I learned that their tourism very high now they found ways to attract millions of people and airport security very organize and very strict. I would love to go one day to visit my cousin moved there he loves it.

  • ok- tallest in the world, BUT ...the SEARS tower(not that "willis" tower crap) still rules!

  • This is old footage of burj dubia. it looks so tiny

  • ugly building

  • @lookbasi,

    Unfinished buildings look that way

  • Is actually 162 stories!

  • Imagine your room is at the top and the lift breaks, taking the stairs in this case would be good exercise :)

  • i think the best exercise will be when you forgot car keys and you must take the stairs back to your room.

  • lol yeah i am far too lazy to take the stairs!! that would be my dead XD

  • Awesome.

  • i live in sharjah somwhere really near dubai..

i can see the burj dubai fully builded from my window and it really looks very cool!

  • Thats what oil money can build

  • "Truly, the life of this world is nothing but a [quick passing] enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever." [Qur'an, 40:39]

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):

.....and that you see barefoot, unclothed, beginning shepherds competing in the construction of tall buildings.

  • Darwin never said that he was definitely right, hence his use of the word "Theory".

  • omg ppl this is crazy a race for the tallest buliding how much do they invest in this thing

  • Damn,it looks like the tower from Sauron!

  • its impressive yes...and very tall. Doubt any other country can achieve the same (japan wants to build a "kilometer city" but lack space)...but, personally, i think it lacks beauty. Look very scary, imposing and intimidating. A sore thumb on that vast desert plain.

  • freaky music

  • madona mia che bello

  • all these buildigs will be dwarfed by Tokyo Sky City (provided that building gets off the paper)

  • Wow. I would hate to be a construction worker there.

  • i am from dubai just send comment and i well tell you everything.

  • @smoshbestfans what do people overthere do to be that rich? oil? petroleum engineering? chemical engineering? there are also a lot of supercars too.all kinds.. thanh you

  • is there anybody in Dubai towers ? lol

  • well good

it looks like the desire to achieve has been passed to these people. I remember when it was America and before that Britain and Europe. If Europeans want to give up on dreams atleast these people are trying.

  • you must search for "radium karmara" to hear this very original instrumental band. features a violin.

  • whats with the creepy alien music?

  • you can get a really ugly picture or a really good picture

  • It looks like an eerie alien planet, or the far future.

    Absolutely amazing

  • I've love to go there someday

  • Boy, do they ever need trees and landscaping. Skyscrapers, dirt and sand. How enticing is that? I'd rather visit somewhere beautiful. The desert will eventually reclaim this ego trip.

  • i have tht in my backyard

  • toothpick for my ego.. that what it is!

  • What's next?

  • what was the point of building such a tall building?

    :S

  • whats withe the stupid creepy alien song?

  • looks like sumthing from a sci fi movie, all we need nx is flying cars haha

  • when will this be finished ?

  • this maked of korea company(samsung)!

  • is it a race to the moon see which building will get there first

  • DUBAI REALLY LOVES SKYSCRAPERS!

  • Absolutely impressive !!!

  • It looks daft standing out on its own...

  • This is Skidmore, Owings and Merril (American designed building)

  • What is that cool looking building at 1:28 ?

  • gate to Dubai International Finance Centre

  • middle east dont have earthquakes, no volcanoes, thats why they can build that thing..other rich country can do that also, like japan, korea, atc but tey do have earthquakes...

  • they do have earthquakes there. I just watched a special on the fake islands they built there and how earthquakes were a major concern

  • nekel have a reputation for saying one thing and doing another, lol,

  • One Question...how did they get the cranes all the way up there? and How will they get them down? By helicopter or something?

  • Dude holy crap yea, they probably use helicopters or sumthing

  • just makes you think how high can we build to, there must be a peak or something...

  • There's probably some kind of phsical limit, but I think it will take a while until we reach it...

  • More like a financial and/or resource limit first

  • yeah its amazing what you can do with just a few trillion dollars

  • engineers call this the scaffolding effect, there is a limit to the height and its dependent upon the material used, gravity and all sorts of things. You can't build it all the way to the moon the same way Darwinian Evolution can't design anything beyond micro-evolution.

  • The outer edge of the known Universe?

  • I agree, there must be some kind of limit... when constructing a building like this, it's obvious that the loads increase greatly as the building gets taller... the foundations must be able to withstand the dead and live weight of the building and also the building itself must be able to withstand superimposed loads from wind, snow etc.. tho if the design is right, and all factors are taken into account there's no reason why our buildings cant ger taller..

  • It's more of a question of economics.

Mega-skyscrapers generally have a high level of vacancy for a few decades after they are built, and they also cost more the higher they go. It's probably possible to build a tower that's 10 miles high, but it will not be profitable because there won't be enough income through rents to make up for the cost to build it. Burj Dubai itself at its modest height is going to lose hundreds of millions, but it's just a boastful move by the gov't anyway.

  • how Cool IS THIS!!!!!!!!!!! about time mankind started doing some more stuff like this. tired of hearing about stuff like the Hover Dam and the Empire State Building. that were built way in the past or moon landings that may have not even happen. lets all tack a lesson you can exploit cheep labor to a point, even i will say it is better to work cheep then not work at all.

  • thats a huge ass building

  • You're worried about Korean building, right? The problem which is concrete almost, problem of a steel frame and problem of soil stabilization. There are other ones variously. It's full of anxiety.

  • its like the architects of the world are saying...

    "i have the biggest dick!"

"NO! IIiii have the biggest dick!"

  • Well, y'know what these buildings are compensating for... ;)

  • oil

  • wdaass

  • God bless this country, hope they are doing much for the poor people there. The whole world should take an example from dubai

  • reminds me of The lord of the ring_ two towers thats the first 1 ... anyway thats1 huge mf of a building. dubai is not paradise rembr that, dubai does not compare to the beauty of this world.

  • 1:27 what is that bulding called?

  • Why would u build something so big?

  • jfslim25 -- half of Dubai citizens is poor? you are really crazy im a normal citizen i have 12000 $ salary every month some people have 20000 or much look what Dubai and Abu Dhabi Governments give citizens - free marrying party - 23000 $ (70000 AED) for marry - Dubai and Abu Dhabi governments build free houses for citizens so we are poor?!!
  • that is a huge building!

  • that is huge!

  • from what i can see from this images makes me think that the only thing theres in dubai as you all can see is the burj, some other big buildings and besides that??some highways but nothing else..i bet that half the people in dubai are really poor...

  • You have no ideia! go check on google... tons of shopping malls and huge 5 star hotels, artificial islands and a lot of oil money going on.

  • it has 200 floors!!! my condo has only 10 floors! P.S. that was some erie music at the beginning! :S

  • Simply amazing!

  • guy many people call tis bullding Burj dubai that is wrong because burj it is mean tower in arabic the name of this bullding is Dubi tower

  • ok, what will i get to see when i am on top floor? a birds view of the ocean and the desert? if i can see it thru the smog,

  • I have a dream to live a life in Dubai one day, truely a paradise. it would be like leaving hell and going to a better place.

  • Sears tower + Empire state building :P

  • I think everythinjg has already been sayd, but i want to confirm that that is the most idiot way to waste money, what's the point of building such a huge monster when all around the world of architecture we are trying to find a way to create sustainable buildings...

  • who is all knowing enough to really say that this way of building is not sustainable? I believe tall buildings are very energy efficient and use less materials. They use much less of a geographic footprint, enabling more room for gardens, parks etc. Dubai is doing this for high end tourism which is meant to replace their dwindling oil revenue. A few sustainable 30 level building just wouldn't impress most people and obviously this is more of a risk than building a gargantuan skyscraper city. lol

  • There is also going to be the Nakheel Harbour and tower at 1300

  • i love emirates

i lived there for 4 years

and it was like a dream,so much fun, the people are nice, no racist because there are many different nationalities, a great security & peace, its like a heaven

    UAE for life

  • Cool i may have a job in oman was thinking about living in dubi

  • what if it fell down...or caught fire...

  • it's over 2,100 feet tall!

    It's TALLLLLLLLL!

I'll jump off it though ;)

  • Imagin if they built the building on Mt Evrest and plant the geral Sherman tree on top of it.

  • imagine being on the scaffolding up there? takes huge balls to work that high. seriously, you fall from there parts of your body would be scattered like 15 miles apart.

  • Why make a building so tall for?

  • i live here

  • I live in sharjah and go to dubai everyday

    for school

  • These buildings are EMPTY !

  • why would you build a building that tall when there's land all around it that's undeveloped. you expand horizontally first, not vertically. the whole idea of a skyscraper developed from crowded cities, not a country with a total population of less than 1 million.

  • maybe inspired from the citadel .... from half life 2... i hope one day can go to dubai and go to the penhouse .... the experience must be fuking incredible!!!!!!!

  • amazing pretty truly beautiful

  • Dubai FTW

  • cool i wonna go dubai so bad might be going after i go lebanon

  • the burj dubai is still not completed, i woz the there 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!

  • Was it supposed to be completed by now?

  • it aint that tall

  • its the tallest building in this planet you moron

  • this was posted on my birthday!!!

  • so ?

  • Amazing how tall it is, I kind of always have thought the Burj Dubai is going to be ugly based on what I've seen so far though.

  • What do they want it for?? Dubai is truly beautiful!! Id like to live there some day!! If it's still there.

  • majestic

  • lol they break the record for tallest skyscraper, but not only that they pwn the old record

  • This tower will put the West to Shame.

  • Its windy up there

  • I guess the whole changing our language and scattering us around the world didn't work.

  • i sky dived off the top of it

  • we buil such buildings cause we are live in monetary system, priority of profit.

    stupid idea obviosly

  • it is now 818m/2,684ft now thats tall

  • Is anyone else thinking...

    "CITIZEN, PICK UP THAT CAN"

  • creepy

  • Undoubtedly a magnificent technological achievement, but read Johann Hari's article 'The Dark Side of Dubai' to get another perspective on the true human cost of this project.

  • CRAZY!?!?!? Sweet place.

  • whats even more crazy is the planning of that other tower they have confirmed to build. 1001 m high..

  • ostro

  • Samsung is just incredible...

Petronas Twin Towers, Taipei 101, now... Burj Dubai...

Samsung's got the technology to build all the tallest buildings in the world.

what's ironic is... you don't see none of these giant buildings in Samsung's motherland, Korea (it's because of the height restriction in the city)

  • Damn, never ceases to amaze me. The human brain. How fucking powerful. I think we scare ourselves with shit like this.

  • wait untill the oil is finish

  • whens it gonna be finished

  • Ever wonder if you can see it from outer space? I mean, you can see the Great Wall of China from space..

  • Arabs KNOW how to build houseez :)

  • It was built TOO fast and this will prove disasterous during an earthquake due to substandard construction quality. Many wil die.

  • so is this a hotel? or what?

  • Burj Dubai - world's tallest building

    hence building

  • Not typically Hotel. Once complete, It will provide shopping malls, offices, residential apartments and off course, hotel too.

  • the CN tower is 815ft tall, so the taipai 101 tower wasnt the original record, how come everyone's ignoring the CN tower??

  • The CN Tower contains a restaurant, a gift shop, and multiple observation levels, it does not have floors continuously from the ground, and therefore it is not considered a building. The CN Tower is the "Tallest Freestanding Tower,".

  • CN tower has nothing but stairs between its observation deck and the ground floor. I suppose that's why.

  • The "CN Tower" is not considered a true building because it doesn't have floors from the ground up, also, it is only 553.33 Meters high, the burj dubai is 818 Meters high, not only the talles man made structure but also the tallest building by a long shot.

  • CN tower was the world's tallest free-standing structure for over 30 years. That is a pretty amazing record to hold. To not call it a building is a bit misleading - it is not like a radio mast because it has floors, restaurants, observations platforms and elevators.

  • The Empire State Building was the tallest building for over 50 YEARS!!!

  • CN tower is a concrete tower(freestanding structure) not a skyscraper.

CN tower is accually 553.33m/1,815.4 ft tall

  • 1:28 what's that building called?
