OOHH MY GAWD! I'm experiencing the same thing. I have SLE and mine typically affects my hormones (hence why I can't have babies) but within the past 2 weeks I've been feeling like I'm getting bit allllll the time, everyday and last night...I'm asleep and BAM!!!! Something bit the shit out of the tip of my nose... I mean it woke me up. I couldn't go back to sleep thinking hell no! I have bites on my elbows, legs in my hand on top of my hand and I never see any spiders or mosquitos??? WTF???
@bejoulr Hmm. Not sure what that could be. Check your bed and make sure you don't have any bugs hiding in the sheets. Some areas have been over run with bed bugs. OR it could be a skin condition and you should go see a doctor. Hope it gets better soon. Thanks for stopping by.
My Grandmother had lupus & the skin lesions take the form of red, scaly rash-like patches on the skin that are brought on/exascerbated by exposure to direct sunlight. They heal over time, but it destroys the melanin in the skin leaving the healed areas bright-white & discolored from the non-affected areas. It definitely isn't like any manefestation of lupus I've ever seen. Best bet would be to have it looked at by your doctor. It could also have been a MRSA infection. Hope it got better.
Hi. I'm sorry your grandmother had to deal with that kind of lupus. :-( I have systemic lupus, meaning it can attack any part of my body...not just the skin. Not that one is better to have then the other. Both kinds are nasty to deal with. My rash went away but we never figured out what it was. It happened twice. I hope it never happens again. Thanks for watching and for sharing. Love and Light to you.
@WillowDove40 Thanks. Grandmother's lupus occurred later in life (after age 60) so the symptoms & progression of the disease were fairly minor compared to folks who contract it at a younger age. It was still a difficult disease to deal w/for her even then, though, & the only outward manifestation for her were the skin lesions. It's a terrible disease in that it can affect any number of organs & locations on the body & there's no known cure for it. I wish you all the best in the years to come!
Thank you. I've had lupus since I was a child. It nearly killed me a few years back. I'm not afraid though. I won't ever give up hope that this will go away or that a cure will come. :-) Always have hope.
that would be an arachnid bite but I'm not sure if it's a spider or a tarantula but hell it's nasty how long ago did this happen and what was the time of day?
Thank you for your comment. This happened a year ago. The time of day was early afternoon. It grew larger by the next day. It never was confirmed as a spider bite. Still not sure what it was but I'm not going to touch another Hollyhock plant again. It happened both times after I touched that plant. Strange.
Hi Mike. No, it wasn't lupus. The reason I thought it might be is because Lupus can attack the skin as well as any other part of my body. So,it was a valid thought. People with lupus have lost fingers and toes as well. Thanks for stopping by and for the comment.
You are correct Mike. I didn't just learn about Lupus...I have it. I have SLE plus other medical issues. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I thought you knew for some reason. Thanks again for taking the time to write.
my kids and i brake out just like that all the time we have SLE i dont know what my daughters trigger is but mine is cold temps that makes me break out like that...
My mom had something similar, it was saliva that "stayed stuck" somewhere in the saliva glands then it cleared up just like yours... maybe it is the same.
My sister had something like that on her cheek, but it was a little bit more swollen, and she didn't had any pus or anything like that, so we asked some pharmacist what it was, and he said it looked like a boil, But I don't really know what it was or is in your case!!
idk what it is, and im sorry that you had that happen. i hope it is a bit better now?
I had a brown recluse bite my tricep 6 times while i was sleeping. it was pinned between the bed and my arm. my own ignorance simply led me to left and drop my arm continuously to rustle (what i thought was a thread) the thread back into the blanket. later that morning..a couple hours or more i already had a lump. a doctor visit 2 days later confirmed it to be a brown recluse bite when he noticed bruising.
Yep..that is right. I have systemic lupus...which means it could attack my skin if it decided to. I don't think that is what happened though. Thanks for subscribing and for leaving me comments. Have a good day.
It may be a combo, you might be having more of a reaction to the bite because of stinkin lupus. Cause I see what ya mean by the little circle. I would def go to the doc if it gets bigger or you feel lots of swelling. I get that something that looks similar to that on my stomach etc.... Keep us updated!
I would suggest visiting the doc. I would also remind you that... lupus is an auto-immune disease, which means your immune system is messed up, which means that anything might trigger a bizarre bodily response, even a spider bite! Sending you love, light & healing thoughts.
Well lupus works in misterious ways. I'm thinking that if it's not hurting or dosn't have the pus or something coming out in a few days it may be a bite but, again not sure. Sometimes it's hard to say go to the doctor to only find out that they don't know either. Hope you feel better.
Hmm - I don't know what that is. I did have a friend at high school have a similar lump on her cheek once and she said it was a spider bite I think (long time ago obviously!). I know it took a while to go down. I'm sorry - must be awful. Hope it goes away soon.

Dont think its lupus, I dont know where you got that idea from.
Looks like an infected submandibular gland.

Are you thinking about lupus pernio? If I remember correctly, it mainly attacks the central regions of the face such as the nose.
However, skin manifestations are seen later in the disease process.
I'm glad you learned about lupus though.

I'd definitely be going to the doc! Also, take a digital photo of it for future reference (especially for the doc).
