good ole reznor, dark and self hating back then. good vid. captured the feeling in my opinion. and I remember when this first came out I was in highscool. but I was in middle school for pretty hate machine so didn't hear it till highschool also. loved that band, still do, thanks
Ive heard other NIN music, but it was a long time ago. I like the sonic sound of this song :) Michael Jackson brought me to this song tho, he was apparently a big fan of them and loved this album :)... I'm a student of music :) Peace&love
Horror and shock is probably what people who otherwise would not be fans of Nine Inch Nails would see in the music. When I close my eyes and listen to the songs on this particular album I see despair, hopelessness, the feeling of falling into a black abyss.
There are really no words or images you could put to any of the songs on the Downward Spiral album. Its like trying to explain infinity. Some of the visuals Trent used on the Self Destruct Tour were good though.
This makes me picture, if there is a hell, what it would be. Empty, cold, suffering, lonely. This is a sonic masterpiece, you don't listen to it, you feel it.
This is pretty cool. :) I never found horror in this piece before, though... It makes me think of a man (my love, the amazing Trent Reznor) sitting in an old abandoned factory, with the machinery running, playing a guitar, recalling a horrible memory.
Dunno why. But either way, I love this song, and awesome job on the video.
Love everything about Nine Inch Nails, awesome video. If you want to see more gore like that check out Bestgore.com CAUTION: This site is not for the weak and is extremely gory!
Wow. Nice job

Trent's best music was always at the darkest end of the spectrum.

Watch NIN's short film for "Broken", if you get a chance.
