to batch rename files in windows is REALLY simple - 1 select them all (left click and select all the items) 2 right click 3 select "re-name" from the drop down 4 enter teh name you want.....windows will use that name then append 01 02 03 at the end of it. I love windows and mac BTW
hey...i had my hard drive replaced recently and i've had to put all my pics back on but there 10,000 pics...they need to go back into albulms..can u demostrate a workflow on this process i'm really stuck.....cos my pics files are now on hard drive but not in there albums..
i'm trying to learn autometer,..there us a cool 60 min video on here......it tells yer how to rename files if u have over 200 to do...how to get pixtures from a websit that will go into your iphoto with albilm name......
oh and btw the second part about the ipod and album you took that almost word for word of another thing i saw...like a apple tutorial video or something haha it works tho
Cool video, I have used a similar app for Windows for years. It uses macro automation similar to the macros for Word and Excel. Nice that it is included in OS X.
Thanks a lot! You really helped me out. I just bought my mac and dont know all the features yet. Your videos are simple to follow and get me on track. You rock!
Thank you very much. I have a Mac for a year and a half and with shame must I admit, that I didn't bother using Automator at all, thinking it was geek stuff. How on earth could I have been so... well stupid.
omg that is so cool!!!! I've heard some stuff about Applescript.....I have absolutly no idea of what it really does...but supposedly it's really cool.....can you explain this??
Great job!!! Just switched to a MacBook and I also use Picture Project that came with my Nikon digital camera. Renaming all those files was a pain. Thanks for the tip on how to do that with Automator. Very cool!
Sure...I did a few on iLife tonight for you. There are videos in my collection for iTunes, iPhoto, and Garage Band. I'll do one up on iMovie and iDVD as well.
Nice Tutorial. I'm using Action(s) which seems a little bit similar on Windows and Mac. Are the elements in Automator compatible with it?

I don't use a Mac, so I'm not the one to ask. You might want to check CNET TV.

91greigm- Thanks for the reply. 2 things though:
1) Dry humor...it's kind of my thing. Either you get it or you don't.
2) I don't plagiarize. You probably watched another one of my videos. I tend to repeat myself.
