Railfanning Terre Haute, IN National Train Day!!! Part 1 5-8-10 with NSNORFOLKSOUTHERNFAN!

Amtrak NEVER comes through Terre Haute. There was only one occurrence of this and that was in the 70's. But on the plus side, Terre Haute is a pretty busy place when it wants to be. It's one of those hit-or-miss areas, but when it's a hit, it's a hit.

I have seen areallly long train that took an hour to pass. It was hauling corn from a co-op in hopper cars to the Texas drought stricken ranches.

Great longest semi-trailers. But other vehicles were waiting for clear the rail. I think problem with emergency vehicle can't access on the way. They need clear off. Only blame that too longest trailer are fail for urgent a emergency vehicle need way. Do you think ?

Not only that, this train has 3... engines? is that the right term? anyway, im from Israel and the longest train ive ever seen hear has 1 enigne and 8 cars for a passenger train, and for a frieght train the longest ive seen here was 1 engine and 20-30 cars. But thats it!! not a 3 engine and a endless car train. WOW o_O

@CSX1123 It is but in the afternoon be ready for some serious lulls the morning is the best time and usually has the better poweer also be on the lookout tomorrow for Q233 as it has SD80MAC 4593 leading I'll be out around Avon tomorrow as well!

This place sucked when I went there. Everything was YN3 and the location of the tower sucks.

@BNSF2184 Well the location isn't that bad really and that's not my fault you need to stay longer sorry I guess that's your luck and I've had bad times on the BNSF especially in Rochelle the power sucks majorly on that line.

Oh yeah Rochelle sucks balls. Its a good spot if you like H2's. I want to see more Dash 8 standard cabs, less YN3, and NO GEVOS. I dont really mind the AC44CW, but I cannot stand ES44's

Sure there is. Closest thing to a Dash 7 left. I forgot you dont understand the awesomeness of locomotives made in the 80s/early 90s.

@BNSF2184 I like the Dash 7 series but what you don't understand is I see these everyday I think the BNSF B40-8Ws are awesome but you probably don't trust me I know the locos of the 70s and 80s and they were gone all too quick the C30-7s were awesome looking and sounding and the B boats were too I wish they could come back but sadly they wont be able too

That was nothing less than awesome bro. Two trains racing with all C40-8ws and no GEVOs made it even better. Im tired of GEVOs! Well maybe not the GEVO itself just the horns on the GEVOs. I live a mile from the CSX New York to Waycross line and thats all we see here.

@8747csx Thanx man!!!! And yeah yesterday we got a lot fo EMD on this line but we were in avon and we also got an ACe trailing!!!!!! It was quite a successfull day somedays can only be GEVOs here too but i do like their horns.

Like the video, but work on your camera skills a bit more. The camera was kind of shakey and you have to work on your timing of when to zoom in and out!!! Overall it was great!!!
