I be damn Toyota CEO crying. Never saw that one coming. IF they knew not to RUSH OUT THEIR HYBRID or ELECTRIC vehicles and take their time like they used to non of this wouldn't have happened.
none of this would have happened if they had kept their manufacturing process within Japan. All the faulty parts (pedals, levers) that supposedly caused these crashes were PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA, by rust belt companies under a Toyota contract. I hate it when people hear about the recalls and say that Japanese cars suck. It's just the pathetic standards of American companies seeping into a high-quality Japanese brand.
To be honest, american cars are bs. I hate the fact that cars are being locally made, like how they said Toyota, and how mazda is made in canada just brings me to tears
@rawdawg15 u r really ignorant 4 that comment its not toyota japans fault its toyota of america because of the quantity instead of quality so u need to do your research before you start name calling RAW DAWG!!!..always remember its quality instead of quantity.
You are right. They are the world's greatest cars, even have the Americans thinking it. But if anything goes wrong, don't blame the designers, engineers, or managers of those assembly plants (who's mistakes were systematic and fundamental in nature, because they affected thousands of cars) blame the american peons who worked under their tutulage (who if made a mistake at such a low level, only a few cars would have been affected) It's a design fault, and Americans didn't design them.
@rawdawg15 Think before you speek, think before you speek. A common criteria that can best serve you in the future. It wasn't Toyodas grandsons fault. It was the North American team that fucked up.
every car company makes mistakes, and has to issue recalls. The fact of the matter is that it was covered up for so long, and such a far flung coverup clearly points to the highest level of operations..which is Japan.
Crying through guilt. Lets hope he attends the forthcoming funerals of the next victims or he can fix the real issue - the electronic throttle control units. Fall on your sword and get your wallet open Toyoda. You have broguht disgrace to Japanese businesses and your country..
As far as electronic throttle control: it seems like a real bad idea to me, without a strong mechanical throttle return spring. As far as Japanese cars/companies I like (older) Mazdas and Hondas the best, but absolutely all Mazda's since 2004 use ETC.
toyota hid behind floormats while people died in cars they knew too be defective, just too save money avoiding recalls, toyota is very sorry, very sorry they got caught.

What crap! He is shedding crocodile tears. I drive a 2009 Honda Accord. It too is a fucking Japanese vehicle. bought it new, brand new. Within the first 4 months, had to change the battery. Within 12,000 kms, the rear brakes had to be changed -- ridiculous. Nowadays when I step on the brakes, I hear a squeaking sound from the back of the vehicle. Yesterday, while turning left, the steering wheel was making an odd sound. Honda has lost my faith. I will never buy a fucking Japanese vehicle.
The Lexus sedan driven by Rhonda Smith, who testified in Congress Tuesday about a harrowing incident of sudden acceleration, is still on the road, according to the National Highway traffic Safety Administration.
In fact, the new owners of the luxury ES350 sedan have reported 27,000 miles trouble-free with the vehicle, according to a NHTSA spokeswoman. Mrs. Smith and her husband sold the vehicle after the incident, in which she thought she might die.
it's so obvious that this is american conspiracy against the best automakers just to revive their car industry... first toyota, then honda... i had toyota and i bought a new prius couple of days ago so my personal opinion is that this is all bullshit... never had problems with toyota and will never buy an american car in my life... look what they did with the twins in nyc... the killed their own people... this is bullshit... and japanese people are to proud and I'm on their side.

Speaking as a former car designer of both American and Japanese companies, I can honestly say that I would still hands down put my confidence in the quality and performance of a Japanese car. There is no pride in American workmanship (and no I'm not Asian, I'm a PhD).

US Warns Japan They Will Destroy Toyota First, Honda Next

That is not the same, accidents due to driver's fault and there are manufacturing defects. Toyota has some serious ones. If you had a family member who was killed in these cars you would not be talking this way. Stop being a fan boy
he starts crying when he talks about the remorse he feels for two of Toyota's F1 racers whom he "raised"...And again when he says he wants to help them get onto another team...
Since the end of WWII Japans main goal was to bring down the US auto industry. It's poetic justice....they scratched and clawed their way to the top. It is greed and arrogance that brought them down...Henry Ford is smiling right now I'm sure. It's about time Americans again support American companies.
@1mbarbou Your kind of mentality is exactly the reason why Ford failed. Except they failed years ago. Toyota will recover from this problem and make even better cars.
That's not Mr. Toyoda...it clearly says Tadashi Yamashina on the sign in front of him! Mr. Yamashina = the top guy for Toyota F1. Of course he's crying...he had tremendous responsibilities for Toyota's success in F1, which he was never really able to achieve. Now he's left to wonder when or if Toyota will be in it again...
How sincere to see a grown business man in one of the highest positions in the country cry in the knowledge that his employees will be out of work. This is where sincerity and loyalty in one culture can sometimes bring people like myself down to their knees (figuratively speaking) Can I see the western business men/companies react like this?
I hope that things change for the better for the japanese company.
Heh, after working with them/being in charge for a few years, he's bound to be emotionally attached. But indeed, it shows he truly cares. But of course, this isn't Toyoda.

Toyota Recall - Government Motors exploits
by Propaganda Buster
The recall number of cars made in US is more than that of Toyota more overwhelmingly.
This data is very regrettable for "the people who attack Toyota".
This is a burglar by "the American justice" made for a certain purpose.
It's an American customary business style. It is the same strategy as 911 , Iraq War and recent relief for the Wall Street !!

The ABS system have saved so many people, too.

all you haveto do is turn off the ABS braking system
the braking system prevents you from skidding on icy roads.

If you claim that there are flaws in the Toyota electronics, you need to prove it with evidence.

he starts crying when he talks about the remorse he feels for two of Toyota's F1 racers whom he "raised"...And again when he says he wants to help them get onto another team...

Sadly, Mr. Toyoda will probably end up taking his own life. Because that's normal in Japan. Hoping he doesn't. I feel bad for him.

Don't worry,
probability that a nuclear bomb dropped in his city is more than taking his own life!!!!

Tadayashi Yamashina is the tem principle of Panasonic Toyota Racing team!
I wish i also could be a part of his tears.. :'(:'(
