  • legendary

  • forever alone....

  • i find your lack of space disturbing

  • Blu-ray, I am your father!

  • yeah i'am exactly the 100.000 viewer !

  • I didn't know DeathStar OS can fit on a floppy.

  • @Playstation3Gamer10 Please read what I wrote. A FORMATTED floppy disk, which is 1.38MB, assuming it is formatted to the standard specification.

  • Oh my god, a floppy disc! Haven't seen one of those in a while ;).

  • You mean Repost... Not remix..

  • i wanna hear Trough Fire and flames from Dragonforce on this disc o.ô

  • Interesting way to treat an antique

  • hahahaha awesome

  • lol contains the plans of the dead star!!!

  • how did you do that?!!??

  • this video has been reuploaded way too many times.. this isnt even a remix of the original video as i was expecting

  • Why????!!!!!

  • Anybody knows how to solder a normal 34pin Floppydrive to a 26pin slim-floppy connector in a laptopmainboard?? Don't want to buy a connector, because I need the floppy only for install my old laptop, but it's drive is demaged.

  • That's awesome :)

  • Lol gret :D

  • @heparuissi

    hahaha you're fake...

  • if you want to do this; you'll need to install beos or haiku and then run the application called midifloppy. you can download it from bebits or haiku. no windows or mac versions versions.

  • @theedrstrangelove yay a useful comment! :D

  • That is really cool!

  • Holy shit, that's GINORMOUS!!!

  • how is this done its awesomly cool

  • i'm yah daddy

  • hahah you should connect multiple and do the other harmonies!!!! :D:D:D

  • @Kinglevel

To be fair you could probably do harmony with one drive. It's essentially playing the part of the speaker after all.

  • tell me how to do that plz!

  • Wow...

  • ахахахаха))) бляяя охуенна!!!))))

  • Don't go into the dark side, Luke. May the force be with you... always.

  • LOL!!! very good! hahahaha had never thought of doing that before! very crazy!

  • Its like hardcore version of imperial march !

  • To be more accurately, its a hardWARE version :)

  • that's what you hear when there's a virus on your floppy

  • sounds like someone's doing it with their lips.

  • lols :D

  • 5/5 - Pure Awesome!

  • genus!!!!

  • It's very crazy!!

    hahahaha

(Sorry to my bad English. )

  • naw your english is good :)

  • Why did you write: "Sorry for my bad English." ? It's all right and hey, come on, it's just one sentence! :P

  • Irony factor: The video file on the YouTube server is 1.39MB, just 0.01MB too big to fit on a normally formatted floppy disc ;)

  • I thought that floppy drives had 1.44MB of storage?

  • 1.38MB DOS (FAT12) formatted. 1.44MB unformatted capacity. If you custom formatted it you could fit up to 1.72MB on it reliably, at a loss of available directories.

  • Oh wow, I didn't know that. :D

  • so what?...why do you think it matters?:-??

  • @richardbirch2007 Yeah but what you see is both sound and picture. The floppy only play sound :P

  • @richardbirch2007 that is not Irony, if it were the same it would be Coincidence, 'two or more things happening at once, or the same way'

irony would be being shot by accident by sniper that was assigned to protect you

'the exact reverse result of the intended action'

irony in this case would be the computer 'just happening to' play the rebel alliance tune in the floppy drive by accessing the files for the imperial march to play on the speakers

Irony,.... understand it, people, do not

  • @FirewallAndFlush It would appear that you are lecturing me on what irony is despite the fact that you are:

    - Incorrectly capitalizing the word 'irony' in a sentence when it shouldn't be.

    - Overusing commas and adding them where they are not required.

    - Not capitalizing the start of your sentences.

  • @FirewallAndFlush

Thank you, that was a really helpful explanation of irony. I'm sure you have improved the lives of many people. Perhaps you should seek a career as a professional irony consultant.

  • @richardbirch2007 drivespace ftw

  • @richardbirch2007 What if you were just talking about the MIDI file?

  • @AccessEvil The MIDI used to drive this (assuming it was controlled via MIDI) would probably be around 100 bytes at a rough estimate, although I was talking about the actual FLV video on the YouTube server.

  • @richardbirch2007 I figured as much... more of a rhetorical question. I was trying to make a connection to the relevant media tech of that time. More of a rhetorical question.

  • Nice steal there, original was posted on Jan. 14 2008, but you uploaded it @ June 21 2008.. I would accept if you did remix original video "Star Wars Floppy Disk", but this is exactly same copy of that..

  • yea

  • Why is this a remix?

A remix is when you edit a song to sound more awesome.

This is just a floppy drive singing....

  • WOW that's amazing!!!!

  • NerdRage is going CRAZY!

  • hahahha xD!!!!

I want to do that..... ehhhhh... not really xD

    But anyway, great job :P

  • pretty damn awesome.

  • can anyone tell me what happens in this video?

  • depending on what part of a floppy disk the reading is reading, it makes a more or less low or high sound (to the center of the disk or the side).

Arranging datas on it and reading them in a specific order then makes those sounds sound like music.

    Tricky work.

  • lol wut? how is this done exactly...

  • Wow. Geek power level just went over 9000

  • that is pretty cool albeit useless but its a neat way to use old equipment and make music.

  • very cool

  • what's the difference between this and the original?

  • Well that was different.........

  • That sounds great!

  • One won't get money or ladies with project like this so it's pretty useless..but still very cool :)

  • Not necessarily. I'm female, and I thought that was awesome.

  • Fucking loool

  • cool

  • WaJaJa is the best

  • rock & roll \m/,

    im waiting for "Monkey Island"!!!!!

  • I feel sorry for that poor diskette :D

  • feel sorry for the drive head. :D

  • I WANT TO DO THIS!!!

    HOW DO U DO IT!?

Is it somthing to do with a file on the disk in the drive?

  • Well you just need to controll the stepper motor correctly.

  • get BeOS and kmidplay and floppymidi.

  • lol

  • Juste excellent!!!! GG

  • just totaly cool

  • Fantastic, wonderful, great, thank you so much!!!

  • \o/ nice

Hey, you know what's weird? Everyone who has commented on this is Swedish

  • Most awsome thing seen today for sure

  • Brilliant, just brilliant!! Plus, it's a rather nice version as well, regardless what it's being played on.

  • You good sir, win the internet!

I for one choose to welcome our new galactic floppy drive overlords.

  • Excellent!!!

  • Too much for what? How could you possibly have too much time? How can time all of a sudden be a bad thing? I can think of few things more valuable than time. This saying/reflex is among the dumbest thing people ever say - and you hear it nearly every day!

  • @ apkatten

Then he´s in good company with you here.

  • Total respect.

  • HUGE

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!! How did you do that? I would like to try it myselve.

  • I know how you did that, but that's pretty cool :)

  • Oh? How's that?

  • EPIC

  • that's pretty fuckin amazing

  • nice

  • Nerdgasm

  • yeah! C'mon... tell us HOW you did it! :-)

  • Not that I care that you resposted the video, but.. what's remixed here? :)

  • Too bad it isn't yours there, Twomore, you could flag it.

  • Shit I remember something like this on the c64. I think it did my 1541 drive in something fierce. Worth it though, cuz the noise it made was real and not actually synthesized!

  • 1 star for stealing the vid. its not yours asshole

  • yeha i agree

  • It might well be -what nerds do when they're bored- but then other nerds come along & watch this stuff on YT. It makes me fuckin laugh it does. They come on here, leave comments calling people nerds but they're still here looking at it themselves. Doesn't that mean they're rather nerdy too? Or maybe just jealous of someone elses talents cos they wish they had the knowledge to be able to do stuff like this too. Yes I think so. YOU NERDS Ha ha. Great video this, whether nerdy or not. Well done.

  • Pefect!

  • Absolutly brilliant. You are awarded with a standing ovation.

  • epic win

  • what nerds do when they are bored ....

  • You're clearly a very stupid person, you have my pity. As for "omg what is that" you must've been living in a cave, on mars, in complete darkness, with industrial ear protecters, and a blindfold on for all your life if you don't know the classic Star Wars music. I'm actually gobsmacked tbh. Are there really people this thick? Apparently yes. Shame.

  • Hasn't it ever occurred to you that just MAYBE there are people in the world who haven't seen Starwars? I know quite a few, actually.

And if this was a forum, you would've gotten a warning for flaming. >.>

  • Oooooooooo get you? Am I flame grilled now then? Like a big burger? LOL. There are people in the world who don't know Star Wars and the music of course there are, new born babies for a kickoff.

  • Ohlol

And you said HE was thick. I pity you. I really do. NEWS FLASH: Not everyone even LIKES Starwars (I do, though, so don't you worry about that lol). If anyone's been locked up all their lives its you.

  • Listen here you fifteen year old little twerp, I was out last night actually having a really good time, drinking lager, and getting pissed with friends (something you will be able to do one day when you've grown up some) If I had been "locked up all my life" how would I do that? Why would I worry about you liking or not liking Star wars? I couldn't give two shits mate. Get a hobby, get a life, and get out more, make some friends, it's great.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but my faith in humanity is dropping radically. >.>

  • Good stuff, really pleased for you. Remember GET OUT MORE ;)

  • Wow.

  • and after all that? 'File not Found'!

  • wow. amazing, and amazingly time consuming. Its really cool.

  • The level of nerdiness is overwhelming.

  • Cool!

  • LOL

    Great! Great!

  • That's pretty cool.

  • Hahaha. Brilliant!

  • Haha, great

  • Too good!

  • That's awesome to the max.

  • Agreed!

  • Holy crap that's really cool

  • LMAO, Brilliant
