  • No need to shout.

  • This was the greatest parade of European royalty ever. They were almost all related to each other.

  • Guy on the left in the top hat at ):46 was Theodore Roosevelt.

  • I think it was the first time the United States of America had been represented at the funeral of a British monarch.

  • Quite possibly.

  • Edward VII proved to be highly popular, despite his obvious bias for the Conservative Party and the fact that he was already 60 at the time of his accession.

  • and you told me this why?

  • Well, just to show that there was a lot of good feeling toward Edward VII even in America. After all, the Americans hadn't thought much of previous monarchs, like George III ...

  • Sorry for talking about Edward VII, I know Americans don't believe in a monarchy. I think when Victoria died in 1901 President McKinley flew flags at half mast, so the same thing happened in Britain when he was assassinated later that year.

  • I am not an American. The flag was also flown at half mast for the death of George VI

  • @PeterFirthFan ON THE CONTRARY...EDWARD VII FAVORED THE LIBERALS. HE LOVED GLADSTONE, ASQUITH, ETC. HE BELIEVED , AS HIS FATHER AND NOT HIS MOTHER, THAT THE ROLE OF THE MONARCH MUST BE TO DO RIGHT BY HIS PEOPLE AND TO FORGE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CHANGE FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION. HIS MOTHER WAS JUST THE OPPOSITE....CONSERVATIVE AND THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE WAS SECONDARY TO THE PERPETUATION OF THE MONACHY AND EMPIRIAL EXPANSION.

  • Quite a historic occasion.. first to see !!
