@liglugtheslug Super Mario 3, 2, 1, Super Mario World, those all came out on the SNES, and the original songs ARE 8-Bit.

@Lokaio673 Also, Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 came out on NES, while World came out on SNES. The NES is an 8-bit system using the 2a03/2a07 sound system (depending on the area/country) using NSF files to play. The SFC7000 is the sound chip on the SNES that uses DPCM samples to play.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was the very first game I ever played. 13 years later I play the new Mario games, Timesplitters, Silent Hill, Splinter Cell, MGS, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, Star Fox, Kirby, Final Fantasy, Tony Hawks Pro Skater, Pac-Man, Crash Bandicoot, Team Buddies, Assassin's Creed, Sonic, Pokemon, Bioshock and several other game series. When I have kids. I'm going to give them an NES, SNES and N64 for their first birthdays and make sure the first game they play is the retro Mario. I garuntee any 8 year old kid now in 2011 would fall in love with the exact same games on the NES / SNES / N64 consoles the same way many 8 year old kids fell in love with this game when it first came out way back when. When it comes to pure quality and excellence in gaming, you cant get any better than Mario.

@wampXs Can nothing play? If that's the case, you need to replace the 72 pin connector on the system. Google searching will give instructions. If it's just SMB3 that can't play, try using a cotton swab (with or without a very small amount of cleaner on the end, NOT WATER) and cleaning the connectors with vertical movements (so as not to leave any cotton fragments behind).
