Here in the west many people are clueless about the music scene in asia...but i can tell you that there are bigger superstars with a lot more depth and style than Jane Zhang...for instance Faye Wong (who had a live interview on CNN),Zhang Hui Mei or Amei ( Time magazine 2002), Chen Ming, Joanna Wang (the Norah Jones of the east) Na Ying and many others...i think their music has an oriental flavor that it is very unique

Jane Zhang's music is very similar to western style pop...it is good but in my opinion not unique..it sounds all the same...(Oprah is just showing us the flavor of the month as it were)...but when i listen to Faye Wong's April snow i get the feeling that i'm listening to something very special. btw...i'm from El Salvador!!! go figure eh?
