  • put wing tips on the canards :)

  • Really interesting, great job Dave :-)

  • @JaspeyKitteh STOP SPAMMING YOU FUCK

  • getting close to the tree 8:13.

  • haha keep pressing 3!

  • looks like your getting too wide in the back creating more lift in which is making your plane not do as well in High Alpha. i made an Su-47 which was very succesful but I need to scale it down. Please reply. Oh and I would make a video response but I cant upload videos onto my computer.

  • uh oh uh oh uh oh uh oh uh oh. LOL

  • LOL a meat loaf sandwich :D

  • does downforce slow you down ?

  • "That's a nice plane. What do you call it?"

"Oh I call it the DYUHYUHYUHYUHYUH"

  • The girl sounds cute, i wonder what she looks like

  • Tom Cruise has the same glases in mission imp.

    :)))))))

  • i just want to know how you wired it!

  • try putting a backwards v shape rudder underneath the plane.

  • it was a great plane adn i hope your experimetns pay off. Taking this from silentsnipertx3, it does look like a typhoon. Just a comment, the eurofighter needs those front flaps so that it is aerodynamically unstable at transonic speeds so that it could perform high speed manoeuvres. Your plane cannot go transonic. But it is useful for like steep climbs.

  • LOL at the end wahahahahahahahahaha

  • where are the other 3 parts?

  • Cobras huh? Cool. :)

  • Hello I have written before I'm the guy with muscular Dystrophy. One stupid question why do you run those props unprotected. Are you loseing power by not placeing them in a can .Not a ducted fan set up but like a swamp buggy boat. you get a cage to protect those props and you regain some power you are loseing.Think of it as unprotected sex in the air..... LOL

  • nice try and error methods ! :-)

  • but that defeats the purpose of a pusher prop type plane that does harriers, thats hard to do. but thats why all the motors on my planes go in front of the surfaces.

  • if you make the frame simpler and give simple elevon control with a rudder cause that IS needed. oh yea motor in front of control surfaces plus a big slowflyer prop on a lower Kv motor and there ya go.

  • 7.29 WTF!?

  • please give a review on the FMA COPILOT2.....that will help your vtol too..

  • cooll... but it gets flutter sometimes during landing... lol... increase the stiffness...

  • u talk 2 much stop being so talkitave in your videos

  • i thought that was tom cruise!

  • engine in front and it will be easier

  • can you make a video which you show step by step how to make one simple easy plane :)

  • ur a crazy mann :PPPP vry funny guy..

    nice vid too

  • That was very interesting, i even learned something. cheers :-)

  • entertaining! fun project!

  • oh that's a nice plane. what do you call it? i call it the uhuhuhuhuhuhuh!

  • this guy knos his science!!!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • 2:39 lololol

  • Классный ты чел! Много думаешь и рассуждаешь, приятно послушать и посмотреть! Я тоже сам разрабатываю прототипы и мне приятно, что я не один этим занимаюсь...

    Good luck!

  • Translated:You cool people! Many think and reason, it is nice to hear and see! I also own a prototype and I am pleased that I was not alone doing it ...

  • @MrSergalex Cool you people! A lot to think and reason, it's nice to hear and see! I am also developing prototype itself and I am pleased that I did not do this one ...

  • i made a mini f-22 rc plane from the gliders pdf and i took motors and stuff from a broken kids rc plane. it works great . around 25 cm long and 15 cm wide =P i wanna try putting gyros on it LOL

  • wow, from 4:45 until 5:15 there are like 20 different cuts, i respet your editor, they almost hid it

  • I love the spaz attack at 2:49, I that always make me laugh, good one Dave!

  • that is so cool man

  • looks alot like the Eurofighter

  • @SilentSniperTX3 no it doesn't it looks nothing like it!!!!!

  • @SilentSniperTX3 he said its the same setup as the su-37 not the eurofighter!!!!

  • @SilentSniperTX3 he said its the same setup as the su-37 not the eurofighter!!!! everyone vote down on him.

  • you should build yourself a wind tunnel. Much like the one Grant built on mythbusters.

  • love the ending

  • "3 onboard mixers, 1 servo reverser and a Meatloaf Sandwich. lol"

  • lol

  • cool..but..you did all that just to find out you could have just copied an su-37? how about something that hasn't already been done?

  • happy cam

  • Comment removed

  • what is on ur shirt dave is that u and val

  • NEW FAVORITE WORD ... KANARDS

  • Canards

  • Val is the coolest.

    [so cute, too.]

  • Yea he should build a plane for her and give her some camera time.

  • I used to think Val is what made rcpowers cool. but now that the cool rcpowers is gone... i know it was him all along. bring rc powers back.

  • Interesting methodology. Using your "Battleship" analogy - do you keep a journal of what did/didn't work to avoid replicating tests?

  • who is your assistant?

  • the canards should be placed alittle higher, just like the real one. ever thought of that? maybe you'll get better stability.

  • lots of fluter

  • good save at 2:16 to 2:27

  • looks like a UAV

  • It IS a UAV technically.

  • Hahahahaha!!! Oh thats a nice plane, what do you call it? Oh I call it the ublugublagubla!!! hahahaha. Dave's so freakin funny. Hahaha. Keep it up man you rock.

  • try make the canards longer along the fusulage to create more wing-surface

in high alpha mode and not so much wing-surface in "normal mode" funnu though at 9:14

  • what profession did you study? machine construction? or aerotechnics? or are you an electronics engineer?

i think the second one is the most interesting one and fits to these UFOs xD

  • u didnt see his other video ? hes actually only completed highschool. but this is his hobby he loves doing it thats why he became good at it.

  • ...

im much too dumb for this xD

  • no no dont say that .. everybody is good at something ..i can build robotic, tank and boat but so far not successful yet on airplane.

  • hhaha nice end

what type of camera did u use on the plane

  • The camera lady has a nice voice!

    lol

maybe a lil young though... dont judge me.

  • GREAT!! i will try to make a airplane like that!!

  • very solid experimenting. thank you dave and keep on the excellent fun work.

  • a nice plane,,,

i like a videocamera on the plane

  • dude if u like metalgearsolid your awsome !!! i grew up with that game!!!

anyway u make really awsome planes which makes me wanna buy one off of u!!! love your videos!

  • yh i love MGS i still play the first 1 lmao

  • is it possble to make a plane for £20?

  • if u like metal gear your awsome!!!!!!!!

  • hey dave,

what are those awesome motor mounts that you use in all of your thrust vectoring planes and and the vtol rig? how do you set them up with the servos?

    thanks

  • Geez, nice work! But, why don't you read some books and reduce yourself all the work building different models? You can predict a lot with equations.

  • pfft... well that takes all the fun out of well.. doing all the fun stuff! its getting there is what makes the end product worth the work!

  • experience is better than knowedge

  • Nice, I realy like all your work. But one thing only, why in the world would you want to have swept forward wings? A swept forward wing only prevents spanwise flow, reducing the wake and the tip vortexes of the wing. Since you have pretty much a flat wing which operates at high Reynolds number, vortexes are not your problem at achieving a high AOA- so I think it was quite a waste troubling yourself over a forward sweep.

  • I know you've tried it all but I have to ask: tried wingerons? Or, depending on how mechanically complicated you wanted to get, a hybrid of variable incidence wings with conventional ailerons. It would allow smaller canards, at any rate. Best of luck with your new design! This is only video 1 of 4 so maybe you've already solved your dilemma. It was fun to think about, at any rate.

  • Hell, My 60 Stik has a .90 on it snapped 2 wings so far doing loops. Had to reduce the engine to a 60 because of the stress. Building a scratch wing with an alum tube spare like the 1.20 stick for it

  • thats what i call modelism :)

  • when u start on the real one put some landing gear that go back in to the airplane

  • dats pretty sick

  • coolest part of this video is from 2.40 to 2.50 =DDDDDDDDDDD

  • great

  • you should try putting some gyro's in there,

  • Great Plane and Great Ideas, i was pretty impressed with the vid from the plane too, what cam have you put on the nose of the plane? You just called it a "happy cam"

  • lmao at the end

  • you guys are cool!! I really enjoy your videos, I love rc airplanes,I'm live in tamaulipas mexico and have a small rc helicopter, great job with your invention buddy (frankstein airplane)thank you, more videos!!

  • Same words! :)

  • Does any one know where he got the parts and where is he from because if he got the parts from a local store im screwed (because im in IND) or did he get them from the internet

  • u need to be a science student with Physics as ur major, this guys has got all the parts which are the electronics and most importantly the engine, so what he does is just designs new aerodynamic chassis nothin else!

  • In the info bar on the side he recommends Grayson Hobby, "graysonhobby (dot) com" for motors but they have everything you should need, foam, carbon, control surface tape, adhesives, radio, servos, motors, batteries, control boards I looked at the site and they have it all.

  • Ok thanks boy do i fell stupid (as well as i should :)

  • Don't feel stupid, we all have our moments, especially when we get excited about exploring something new. To be honest I made exactly the same mistake and was searching for my own sources when I remembered that Powers had posted a source for the engines. I came back to the clip to follow his link and saw your post.

  • I wish all human kind would be more accepting like you :)

  • Thank you I appreciate your compliment. I am glad that you have the courage to explore your curiosity and wish you the best of luck on your endeavor. Happy holidays to you. =)

  • @Dono233 if youre in INDIA,then i may be able to help you...........

you can get the high speed motor at any local electronics shop, while the prop can be ordered.......

    as for the other parts,

you can use 10v normal batteries which are easily available or costly lithium batteries available at decent electronics stores

airframe- twisted cardboard is as good as foam, trust me

radio recievers- electronics store, always buy 75 mhz

wires and other components-available even in villages

  • @speedkar09 haha no not india sorry indiana we took there name and put an to it

  • @Dono233 in which city do u live,btw?

  • @speedkar09 well i moved since last year i live in Fort Wayne Indiana now it might have a store im not sure

  • You need more dihedral, it doesn't look like you have much

  • Wow dude, that's a lot of R&D... looks good.

    Keep it up :)

  • this is a cool video, i am making my own plane at the moment also

  • what do you make your planes out of and were you the one that made the rc f-117

  • thats cool but its not the best lookin rc plane

    happy flyin! :)

  • thanks 4 the aircraft disign info.

  • GOOD!!!

  • nice air plan

  • Moulder, is that you?

  • An SU 37 Meatloaf sandwich.. LOL

    Very nice stuff..

  • hey i was thinking of turning my f-22 into a 3d mirage 200 out of CARDBORED what do you think of it?

  • great "edutainment"

  • dude u hav some crazy good ideas

  • you should reanact a dogfight between your F-22 and the SU-37 or the SU-47. That would be cool.

  • I like the part where he saids "That's good plane what you call it?"

  • sweet

  • hello man this is so cool i want that one

  • Dave, you ALWAYS make such spiffy videos. You and Val rock.

I love how you always say "Hey Alriiiiiight".

My F-117 is almost done! I will email pics when It's done.

  • nice!!

  • my favourite part " it's very frankenstaini.."

..talkin' about servos Hitec HS81 MG (HS82 MG) never ever strip gear - $19

  • looking forward for the result!

btw, what happened to the flying robot?

  • Hey thanks! Robot project has been canceled. :(

  • you know how you said one of your goals is to have the most manuverable park jet. well I,ve been studying and I have found that biplanes and even triplanes are extremely manuverable. you should try one, you might possibly like it. you could also probably design it to be good at high alpha.

  • yeah like put carbon rods connecting them so the airfoils both go down for high alfa :][

  • Haha,... and a meatloaf sandwich.

The stability in high alpha should get better when you add twin vertical tails. As it is the wide fuselage is blocking the air to the single vertical fin when in high alpha. This is one of the reasons Mig-29s, F-15s and the like have two vertical stabs placed far apart from one another. They are mounted on the edges of the fuse, not along the center.

    Nice work dave.

  • Yes, very good point, I was thinking just that! Also I was noticing the high alpha planes like the X-31 have their vertical WAY behind the plane so its not blocked by the wings. It all makes more sense now.

  • Great video once again!

  • Informative and funny! I like this stuff and I am not a RC guy, though I do love planes and design. this is good juice.

  • Thanks for all the supportive comments guys! We are really glad you guys like the videos!

  • @RCSuperPowers We don't like it but we like it like hell.

  • i laughed at the end hard

  • You should call that thing the 'Frankenshocker'... Haha :)

  • Frankenstein, watch out for the villagers with pitchforks , dual pushers, I've wanted to do for a while, looks cool man

  • Download airflow simulator ...

So u can experiments some basic printable s by trial and error by simulation airflow.

  • I've always been more into RC Cars more than planes, but this was really interesting to watch. Great video.

  • this guy is actually quite cool for an rc plane enthusiast.

  • So, most r.c. plane enthusiasts are NOT cool? I'm thinking that you must have been emotionally traumatized by an r.c. enthusiast at some point in your life. I hope you find healing soon. ;-)

  • i don't know many but there was this kid who used to live next door to me who flew r.c. planes and he was a bit nerdy.

  • if you make open fents

and you have enough speed youl be able to pull the nose of the plane up!

if the vent are near the back where the whight is

  • This is very cool.I've been interested in low aspect ratio airfoils/airplanes for a long time.

I saw a little control surface flutter there for a minute.Added to favorites.

  • hey dave. ive seen guy with there cg so far back taht after they stall, it will drop vertially. maybe that will help in alpha. making it tail heavy.

  • Yeah, I was thinking about that. I'm gonna try that on the next one.

  • you've got to get back with val and keith. the shows just not the same without them.

  • get the winglets to face downwards, that way, they still funtion in high AoA. also, put a little airflow director on the nose to direct more air towards the tail.

  • design one with a vortex generator beside the intakes. that should funnel more air to the stabilizers, or movable verticle stabilizers that match the angle of the elevators/canards, or try a v-tail.

  • Oh man, Dave you're a pilot/comedian you make me laugh a lot in this video.

  • Cool

  • I thought some wing tip flutter I got on an acft was extreme.

  • Love the crash into you, Dave.

  • three on bored mixers one servo reversers and a MEAT LOAF SANDWICH LOL

  • I`m to going subscribe right now.

(Given that I never do anything, right now, that`s pretty good)!

  • nice!

  • nice one dave. u should see the extra u design flying in my sch last friday really good man.

  • all the best mate :)

  • very inspirational Dave, still working on my own too.

  • lol i love the end bit!!!

  • You are good man!

  • Great work...

One time I got kicked in the "KaNards".

    The Canards look great though.

  • I love your videos.

    I CALL IT THE "UGUGUGUGH"

  • cut it all to scrapes and fly it until it drops. Good design dave

  • cool

  • Very good video! Looking forward to seeing (and maybe flying) the finished project.

  • Hey, great stuff and you got the knowledge of that! thanks for all your awesome videos.

    NT

  • rofl first landing XD

  • great idea dave keep'em coming

  • Great video Dave, I loved the use of the on board camera!

  • Great vidio Dave, keep them coming and we will keep watchi
