@officerbawden17 Actually, the Mass Effect 1 saved game ends after you choose whether or not to save the council.

In Mass Effect 2, your choice on the shuttle to the Illusive Man is actually what counts.

Anderson is an incredible companion, but he's not a politician, and he struggles to make humans happy. If it weren't for Udina, Anderson wouldn't be doing that well. However, I agree, Udina acts like the rest of the council, wanting to think everything is fine. Short sited. But hey, he has good intentions.
