  • Hey Hickock, peace officers are civilians.

  • Bubba as your cell mate hahaha, you got a purty mouth! Anti gun people have watched too much tv and havent spent enough time in reality. Most bad guys have guns. Nomatter what your anti gun laws will ever do, they always will have guns. So learn to shoot and be a real god damn american. And dont cry when you become a victim.

  • i spy with my little eye gunner :p

  • the dog cracks me up !

  • God I'd hate to live with the re-treds of Illinois. I venture a guess that crime is rampant. If I run across a down and out on his luck criminal I'll recommend them to him :)

  • The dog seems to not give a shit...walks throught the range after shooting and doesn't even check

  • As a teacher myself, I can only carry evenings, weekends, and summers. I really appreciate your insights into pocket carry. I have found that this is the solution that works best for me, since sub compact handguns and slim pocket holsters are quick to 'put on', and work with almost anything I am going to wear. Hope your year is going well!

  • great video absolutely love the information

  • Vacation for 3 months??? I assume your a teacher. Where or what do you teach?

  • Just curious is this just a Tennessee thing or can u do this with a concealed carry in new Mexico

  • @kaoz781 49/50 states allow CCW.

  • Thank you excellent video. I think you mentioned you did have a Kramer holster. What do you think of them? I have used them extensively for all of my Glocks, 26/27, 19/23 and Model 30, for a soft holster it is super sturdy last for years and the clip is indestructible. Also it is one of the few "soft" holsters that I can re-holster quickly.

  • Hickok is a teacher to all. Thanks for the intriguing vid

  • What does this guy do as a job? Does anyone, intrigued.

  • @lickmybrains He is a schoolteacher.

  • You have a very cool dog hickok

  • i lol'ed at "little shallow baby pockets"

  • whats "printing"

  • @iluvmobilephones 'printing' is a more mature way of saying there is an obvious bulge on your person that is drawing unwanted attention.

  • @iluvmobilephones a concealed carry gun showing an outline showing underneath clothing showing that your armed.

  • Good video. Most people are oblivious to their surroundings and not observant at all. It is surprising how and when you can carry and no one ever notices.

  • "too old to go to jail"??

  • You sure have nice legs in your summer "dress" ;-)

  • Do dames ever ask you, "Is that a gun in your pocket?"

  • Bubba the cell mate.

  • Would seem 9 people don't like constitutional rights.

  • Hello,

Unrealted but how do you like retirement in TN? We are looking at moving to the Tim's Ford Lake area, still have several years to work before we can give it up but thinking of moving early. I do a fair amount of holsters as well as other leather work.

  • hickok, you never seem to speak of the glock 36...not one of your favorites?

  • @VECCMV, We have a recent video on it, as well as another one in the can.

  • @hickok45 -- I love that glock, is it a .40 cal?

  • @jadx21 You could go with a Smith and Wesson M&P340 .357 Mag or a Glock 27 .40cal

  • @TheIowabowhunter89 they both seam like good options thank you im thinking i want to go with the glock.

  • I wish john would keep from playing with his squeak toy while he's on the camera.

  • @BassFIow Printing is when the outline or silhouette of the gun shows through your pocket so much that somebody can tell you have a gun.

  • Ever seen those NAA Minis?

  • What do you think of the Bond Arms derringers?

  • hickok what is your proffesion?

  • thumbs up for squeaky dog toy in background

  • @pause112 lol hilarious

  • Anyone who hates guns needs to meet one cause they really are good freinds.

  • Where was shooter's ear protection?!

  • Excellent video, hickok. Pocket carry would definitely be my carry mode of choice.

  • I wish this was legal in canada I have had 2 people pull knifes on me and one pull bear mace on me All i could do was stand there defenseless Even if i did defend myself The guy holding the knife would have just as many rights as i do Even if he is in my own house

  • @rseveran: they are applying to carry concealed. many states permit open carry with out any application required. So yes it is a right. How you carry is the privilege.

  • @1:42 Hmm...if you have to apply for permission to carry, is it really a right? Sounds like they are exercising their gov't approved privilege to carry.

    watch?v=Pq7rqmgUcDo Rights v. privileges

  • Ha, just saw your dogs name, same as my dogs.

  • i am at a college in the morning and work in the evening, I can't carry a gun in either locations, so Im sorta SOL there, but my G36 is always on me whenever i am somewhere else (where legal). I may end up getting rid of my G36 and going with a Ruger LC9.

  • @GrenMoyo where do you work ? why you cant carry at work. i carry all the time at work without anybody know about it. ( i am a sushi chef ). i am in college to so i am not carry at school. can you put a gun in a parking lot in your car ? the law just confusing. thanks

  • @gedevega I work at a pet supply store, and there is a statment that i can't carry a weapon into work that isn't for work related purposes (I can bring a leathermen or pocket knife to cut boxes and stuff) but if i where to use my gun to defend myself and coworkers from a dangerous person, I would be fired and sued to pay any and all fines the company's Insurance demands. Not to mention fired. Laws do not extend to the parking lots of gun free zones except for k-12 schools here in MI.

  • @GrenMoyo Mr Hickok, is saying the legal things to help you out. Thank him for that.

I don't care and you shouldn't either if you worry of your safety. You might want to mull over the same philosophy I keep that if is is at all possible in your own power I'm going home. Don't care what a sign says, you get home. Make them reiterate company policy, who cares. Let them restate the statement. Who cares. You go home to your family. That's what matters. Merry Christmas.

  • Serious gun enthusiasts, need serious advise, over the last year I purchased 10 handguns and 24 holsters. And studied many more. In my opinion? only sub compact light guns make sense? Only Pocket holsters make sense, maybe IWB.

D/A S/A decocker guns are best, but finding a light one is near impossible. I may buy a Ruger LC 9 with laser, I looked at Taurus,Kel Tec, Kahr,S&W, Bersa, Beretta,Walther, Glock, Charter, many fall short. But I own 10 all sub compact or lightest available. 380,9mm,40,38,44

  • Gunner you crazy SOB!

  • I like my little .380 Makarov. ^_^

  • lol hes sponsored by carhartt and they buy him heavy machinery

  • I was at the gun store range today, and saw held and dry fired a super sexy small

handgun. A Bersa 380 concealed carry. I love the feel, and D/A S/A decocker short 6 inches feels great in the hand. The real no go for me is all my hand guns have Laser sights, and none made one for this gun, and no rail to attach any. I already have a Bersa 380 thunder with Crimson Trace Laser grip. Love the Bersa Line I also have a Bersa Ultra compact 40 but its heavy for pocket carry my choice of EDC. The best.

  • I pocket carry an LCP 99% of the time. When I first bought it, the first day at the range I was having stovepipe and feeding issues. My friend took it apart and polished the blueing off the feed ramp and since then I haven't had any problems at all.

  • I believe that every citizen who isn't a known murderer or armed robber should carry or own a gun. Just for if the time comes when it's either you or your enemy.

  • Gunner made this video urinating multiple times playing with his squeaky toy. One of the reasons you got my subscription is bc your down to earth and, honest. I know it shouldn't be but in this day and age it's refreshing to hear you have a job. You obviously do this bc you enjoy it your emphasis isn't making money although I'm sure you smile when that check from YouTube comes in every month. Keep up the good work!

  • Probably pocket carry is not as sexy as OWB holster? Assuming you have a Legal Carry License? Do you want to worry about printing? the wind blowing back your shirt? some old woman frightened about your gun? Get real, Pocket carry is the way to go. DeSantis Nemesis the best holster, followed By Uncle Mike #3. and the lightest, smallest guns. S&W BG 380, Ruger LC9, Bersa 380, even the Kel Tec PF 9? FMJ the best ammo, Don't be suckered into only a 45 will do. Only a a gun in your pocket will do.

  • If you are serious about pocket carry? Keep your belt tight enough to keep your pants up. Although this may seem simple that is the pants you choose? it is not.

You have to try the pants pockets with your gun, and your hands,do they fit? In the dressing room. Believe it or not? Some pockets are to short? to snug? or the pocket hole to tight? Can you get your hand and the gun out in your hand?

Don't believe it? try a number of pants, and shorts you will be surprised? not that easy. Try it out.

  • I have a question, why are videos so long? Not that its bad i just want to know

  • @DicesAreRed Why would he shoot gunner? stupid comment....

  • @mbjr2586 not "stupid" really just pointless

  • I watched the entire video, It was so helpful and interesting thanks hickok.

  • I'm a happy Kahr PM40 owner but it took a return to Kahr for repairs, a request to Kahr for replacement followers, a return to the store for a replacement (since I was sold a used gun as new), and then another return to Kahr for repairs. Finally they got it right and it's the best gun I own. You can't really find many .40's that fit in your pocket comfortably.

  • when i pocket carry the pistol seems to point at my foot..is this normal..kinda makes me not want to pocket carry

  • and does anyone recommend the kimber subcompact m1911, im kinda sick of the P99 now.

  • i thought concealed carry was illegal without the concealed carry license? like everywhere right?

  • Bill Braskey pocket carries a smith & wesson 460 as a backup... his primary's an AR-50 inside the waistband...

  • I own shotguns and handguns. I'm not an anti-gun person but that comment about "one of them will save your life someday when you're sitting at McDonald's..." is silly.

  • @kachunski He didn't say it WILL he said it COULD. And it could you never know what will happen especially if you live in a state of high crime like me. I guess you must live in South Dakota or something where there isn't a lot of violent crimes. I myself have witnessed violent crime involving firearms and a certain person was able to defend himself by having a Glock on hand. It saved his and my life.

  • Hi @jordandewey420 I didn't mean to sound offensive I just thought it was silly. I understand what you are saying though. I actually live in Miami which is pretty damn dangerous. Stay safe brutha!

  • I can't wait to get my Utah non resident permit. I won't be able to carry in my home state of Maryland but I can carry in all our neighboring states!

  • I have a hard time pocket carrying the model 29 .44 mag / any suggestions?

  • @davidroygodden yeah get a smaller gun

  • bubba? you raci st bast ard

  • Does your dog mind the noise from the guns?

  • endorse nothing mr.hickok45! this is what keeps me watching your channel! an experienced non-biased shooter with a general respect for life and the art of shooting/firearms. well... maybe glock gets a little extra love but loyalty can't be bought so im with ya!

  • Hickok has covered all the basics in this video, going beyond that is for dreamers? Guns should be light as possible, pants pockets at least 8 inches deep, pocket opening able to let you remove your fist with a gun in hand. There is lots of myths, like only a 45 will do? Or Hollow points are better self defense ammo? Myths die hard. Even the FBI has no clue what ammo caliber is best? many thugs, have been shot many times by all calibers and kept on being threat, be comfortable, pocket carry 380

  • Haha gunner took a leek on camera.

  • I don't understand why teachers aren't allowed to carry. I mean we are living in the day and age of school shootings. Columbine should have been an eye opener!

  • @CygnusTheIronDream It's because the stupid legislators think they can "legislate safety" by making it illegal to carry on school property. That worked out real good for them up in VA.

  • Seven people don't have pockets.

  • @GNCAaron 8 0.0

  • cute dog i won't have my dog on the range due to seeing someone lose there dog by being very careless.. i check before shooting also but its something that is in the back of my mind anytime i'm at a range and have my dog near by

its something i hope no has to learn the hard way of being aware of everything around you when your going live

  • hell ya I rather have glock 27 rather than my m9 in the military

  • I pocket carry a full size .45 (Taurus 24/7 pro)

  • love the sound of the dog toy in the background.

  • Ha! I like the dog squeaking his toy in the background.

  • Nice videos Sir! Greetings from Hungary! - A sport shooter and police officer pupil.

  • i guess kids with skinny jeans can't really do this. :(

  • Hey Hickok,

Do you think a Ruger SP101 is small enough to be carried as a CC gun? Maybe in the waistband?

  • @CampingestBoyAlive The Ruger SP101 is designed for carry. inside the waistband should work perfectly if you get a good holster. I've known people who have pocket carried sp101s on a daily basis so you wont even know its there if you carry IWB.

  • I am new to conceal carry. I just recieved my license this week. My day job is teacher.

  • I pocket carry a Taurus PT-709 Slim every day. What are your thoughts on the Slim?

  • Does anybody else see the dog pissing?

  • @Cloud816 who cares?

  • I have a lil keltec p-32 that I carry with a clip on the slider so I can hook it to my pocket. I'm able to carry it around withought a holster.

  • @riverat bustin' primers.

  • what is your day job?

  • I just got a Kahr CM9. Excellent value. Handles 9mm +P (and will do +P+ unofficially). Not too tiny to be precise and point well with a 3" barrel. Light, yet HD and very easy to carry. Frankly I found the Keltec to be junk. Anyway - thanks to Hickok45 I'm bringing the Kahr in a pocket holster and trying it out next time I'm at the tailor or shopping for shorts and pants. :)

  • Beretta is coming out with a " pocket 9" called the Nano. It might be something to look at testing. I personally cannot wait for the release!

  • Have you tried a Diamondback 9 mm.Holds one fewer rounds than an Lc9, but is a lot lighter.

  • Have you seen the Micro Desert Eagle .380? It's a little smaller than the LCP.

  • Are you familiar with Diamondback's DB9? It's smaller than the Kahr PM9. Would like to know your thoughts and feed back on the gun.

  • lol 4:11 left side of the screen

  • I love that john panned the camera over at 4:10 so that we could all see who really owns that gun range :D :D :D

  • i wish i could have sent you my colt mustang mk 4 series 80 .380 acp for this video

  • What are your feelings about an HK?

  • lol at some point you can hear the dog with its toy

  • I have a galco pocket holster for my PF9 that fits perfect in my 3 piece suit inner-coat pocket if I take the extended grip off the magazine. Love it!

Also, I hear squeakies in the background at 6:35. Doggie must be out with the squeak toy!

  • Diamond Back makes the DB9 smallest 9mm that I know of. I love my pf9 with the belt clip.

  • lol "bubba"

  • Sorry gunner!

  • Gunter taking a whiz on camera LOL! keep up the good work

  • Dogs love the toys that make noise.

  • 7 people dont want to be able to defend themselves!

  • My first bird dog's name was Gunner!

  • Would like to see a Sig Sauer P238 Review. I am considering buying one for a pocket pistol. Would like your input!

  • Mr. Hickok45,

As always, thank you for making these videos and sharing your knowledge with us. I live in NC and I have a concealed carry license. Do you have any recommendations for grips for the S&W J-Frame? By that, I mean do you prefer a particular manufacturer or style. I currently use a factory S&W grip that is made of a smooth wood without any kind of checkering. Mine is a model 442 without the lock. Recoil is stout, of course. Thank you in advance for your reply.

    Sincerely,

    LarryC213

  • As an Aussie, and owning two rifles of my own, I still find this disturbing that Americans may feel the requirement to carry this sort of weapon on their person. Within 2.5 seconds or less you can pull your firearm out and put at least 4 rounds into the target, or "baddy" for that matter.

Is this form of firearm possession absolutely essential in America?

As I said, I have two hunting rifles in my house, but never feel worried about going out EVER. Is carrying pistols like this good or bad?

  • @hurch1975 I agree, its not entirely "necessary." However think about those 3rd world countries where its legal to carry something like a rifle or a shotgun in public.

  • i like how the dog search your firing range... hehehe is that your dog?

  • As a police officer i can say that i carry a Kel Tec PF9 9mm of duty all the time everywhere.

  • I had a feeling you were a veteran or a former police officer. Much respect. And great video a bit humorous :D

  • Are you a teacher, Hickock?

  • @guildwarior6 Yes. His day job.

  • tell me where to buy it so i can kill my "friend"!

  • You forgot the most popular carry gun out there, Kel Tec. They are the smallest, thinnest, and lightest carry 9mm, .32, and .380 guns ever. When they started producing these guns, everyone else wanted to jump on. Ruger's LCP actually consulted with Kel Tec as to what it had to change in order to not violate Kel Tec's patent. NRA magazine says Kel tec is among the Top 5 selling pistol makers in the world. This video was great but I would have liked to see Kel Tec that started the craze.

  • @sharpshooterrn, I didn't forget them; I have a PF9 somewhere. Any place the PM9 will go, the PF9 will probably go; I've just not had a positive experience with the PF9, so I'm not going to recommend it. A lot of people like it, so I won't trash it; I just can't recommend it unless I have a positive experience with one.

  • @hickok45 What about the PF9 makes you not want to recommend it? Aside from your "hands being too big" and the mag release being in your way? I'm not being a smart ass.. My hands are the same but budget and caliber is something to be considered... Thx for your vids!

  • @sharpshooterrn I always wondered who started that... LOL

  • @sharpshooterrn I not looking to bad mouth any maker, However I started to buy a Kel Tec at least three times.

The PF 9 pinches my finger 9 times out of 10. Most you tube posters drop magazines regularly. Quality is bottom of the barrel. The P 11 pinches me less,I still not impressed. I have 3 Glocks, Beretta, Bersa Ultra compact, all to heavy. I carry S&W 380 BG laser, Bersa 380 CT laser,S&W 638 CT laser. Quality shows.

I don't Like Kahr either, and am not on a budget.Beretta Nano 9mm,maybe?

  • My opinion, Pocket carry is best. Make sure the pants pocket is deep enough, I have checked dozens, and some are as short as 3 inches, seriously I need 8" deep. Also the opening, wide enough to get your hand out with the gun,I found that a problem.Don't be stupid about trying to carry very heavy guns. I am a Certified law Enforcement officer, retired, never shot any one,but carrying is 365 days a year comfortably, concealed. The only a 45 will do are dreamers, Nemesis best Holster, Uncle Mike # 3

  • @sharpshooterrn BOOOOOOOOO!!!! to keltec... owned a p11 and p3at. id rather have a sling shot. really great at being uncomfortable, ugly and extremely cheap. Might as well get a hi-point and just throw it away when it needs cleaning.... your life is worth more than keltec lol. i hope keltec doesnt hate me for this but im pretty sure if they shot at me they would miss anyways

  • @setgangbangOBC

    A little dramatic.

  • I'm Afraid of BUBBA

  • Hickok you would try and get one of the new Nano's from Beretta. It looks like a great gun. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

You should also come teach in Utah. Teachers and students can carry here.

  • mr hickok,

you say you dont endorse products, but would it really be such a bad idea?

extra money for guns, and we know that its a quality product if you like it.

  • @1337Flaps, Well, if I like something, I'll brag on it, but I don't do that just because someone has sent something to me.

  • Cops should be more considerate of the people's right to keep and bear arms in the pocket or even in our hands. We the people are innocent until proven guilty yet cops approach us as if we are already guilty and are about to shoot them. In the interest of "officer safety", citizens are treated badly by cops and have to give up rights and disclose if we are carrying. However, Cops exist for the safety of the citizen, not the other way around. Screw pigs, and long live liberty and freedom!

  • any body notice the dog :)

i thought he is going to shoot dog :D

  • watch?v=Z23fTkeU_ZE

  • You should carry it under your Glock hat. Nobody would look there :)

  • Hahha loved the Bubba joke. Great video as always Hickok

  • Cant carry guns in Canada :(

  • man i'm suprised no mention of keltec with all of their pocket guns Exp the PF9.

  • i pocket carry my g27 religously

  • I hate living in Maryland where getting a ccp is next to impossible. I hate that the thugs carry with no permit and commit crimes but good upstanding citizens like myself can't defend my damn family in public.

  • is that standard grip tape you use on the pistol grip or a special make?

  • I can't, but I would carry my Beretta Bobcat .22LR if I could. I know it's not very powerful but .380 is too expensive to practice with and I wouldn't want to be shot with it.

  • another quality video thanks!

  • hickock, dude we need an update video on your puppy

  • hickok45>Chuck Norris

  • I pocket carry my Glock 27 regularly

  • I prefer pocket carry without a holster, but without a round in the chamber. Holsters just add too much bulk.

  • Do you also have a derringer(or similar) that I've seen in an old video? It's one of those things I'm kind of expecting to see in your legal carry segment.

  • Very nice, I do pocket carry a SP101. And when I wear my cargo pants and or shorts I carry the full size Beretta 96A1 .40 cal with no problems. thanks for the vid.

  • Mika pocket holster, great for a J frame

  • Don't shoot the dog :-)

  • People, this is why we (police) get all antsy when you have your hands in your pockets...some people act like we are just being dicks telling them to keep their hands out of their pockets...this is why
