Yeah I really think that Kirk Hammett made Metallica sound a lot better especially with the though out leads and whatnot. And Cliff Burton had a lot to do with their later sound like on puppets. This does sound just like a diamond head,iron maiden and some venom thrown in like the guy below me just said. But this shit has such a rawness too it. You could tell they were kids who just wanted to destroy everything. And now look from this demo to being the best metal band ever packing stadiums.

My favorite after loving Metallica forever was Pantera, then they became my favorite, especially with Dimebag and his riffs and solos, and Phil's singing I mean they were just the shit, too bad they broke up and what happened happened to them, they could be still putting out ass kicking records. Also James was about 19 at the time, if its him singing it sounds like he's about 13 or 14. I'm 14 and I have a deeper voice than most adult men so James would have had to be younger for his voice to be that high

Compare the two solos, the one from kill em all and the one on this demo tape. This one is pretty fast and noodle-like, but the one on kill em all sounds much more aggressive and in your face.
